I'm working on doing a dt200 top end conversion on a blaster. The blaster bottom end has a better gear ratio. The dt200 top end will fit you just need dt125lc water pump parts
I am a Japan person. There are not many people riding in the Japan, and there is almost no information at all. This video is very helpful. If you're fine, I want you to make more videos. I want the YFS200 to have a DT200 engine. I was tired of burning the engine with air cool...
Great video, I just bought a 87 dt200lc today for 1500 in Ontario Canada, the complete bike, the speedo says 7000kms and the cylinder is stock bore, I own a 95200r 2yy as well, and a 06SE blaster, go figure
So I assume there is a blaster project in the works! Would love to see a follow up video on the progress if there is one. I actually want to get a dt200 for mine but I dont even know where to look.
Haters gonna hate but I swear yamaha was being very humble with their hp and tq rating on the blaster specs because it does NOT make sense how quick they are considered a blaster weight
The DT200L swingarm mount is 12mm the Blaster 16mm, but the front mount is the same, I own a DT200L and a 200R, the DT200L engine is going in my Blaster I think
Thanks fkr the video. Does the blaster have the YEIS (the kind of expansion chamber on top of the intake manifold?) And is the jetting/carburator similar?
I know this is a n old post but maybe someone knows. I haven't worked on either of the engines. Dose any one know if the blaster engine will bolt into a TW200 I know that the out put shaft will be to short to line up with the rear sprocket that I can work with but the cases all look very close if it would bolt in and all I have to do is line up the sprockets I can do that at work . I have a nephew that needs more power for the street he'll be off to college next year and wants to take his tdubb to get around campus with. And I would like to help him out. Thanks for any advice. Currently looking for the stator and flywheel for a dt200 and a blaster engine.
Brilliant video. I am endeavouring to convert my dt200r from water cooling to air cooling. Will a blaster cylinder and head fit to my existing dt200r cases? Thanks buddy cheers
I thought about putting my 240 Blaster motor in my 200R but it wont fit, I just built a DT200 Blaster this week, harness swap and all, I mounted rm125 rads and mounted the servo today, its a beast, I own a 200R and another 200L as well
Wouldnt u need a water pump still and radiator? Would try to get that whole motor tbh lol 32 hp stock maybe 40 with Reed cage and pipes and bigger carb
Port duration would be the same as the blasters except the exhaust port duration would be varying with the power valve. I don't have the exact numbers.
Exhaust port I guess, bigger exhaust port for more power but still have good power and torque at low-mid end because of power valve This is just a guess,I’m not a 2 stroke expert 😂
Thank you Troy for this video and your time into making it. It was really helpful. 👍🏼

This is awesome!! Great video
That was so awesome thank you!!!

Facebook marketplace or ebay
ive just recently finished up a dt200 blaster, definitely worth it

Thankyou for making this video. Very helpfull
The only thing I could add would be the stator puts out more power due to the electrical needs of the dt200. Just can't remember how much.
That is correct, I don't have the numbers though
I have yz125 frame..but i put DT200 motor on it..feel very2 crazy when top speed ..trust me
is he DT200L motor quick bud? I own a 1987 DT200L and I just rebuilt the motor and a 200R 3ET, I want to put the 200L motor in my Blaster
awesome video!. are the mounting holes the same? would the dt200 bottom end just bolt right up to a blaster?
The DT200L swingarm mount is 12mm the Blaster 16mm, but the front mount is the same, I own a DT200L and a 200R, the DT200L engine is going in my Blaster I think

Love it bro if not is much problem do it with sub on Spanish plz

Dt200R in brazil or DT200R 3ET, the 3et wouldnt work unless you want 2 intakes, but the 37f or 4an would work fine
Could you turn a Yamaha blaster engine into a dt200?
I dont see why not. You would need the top end, clutch side cover (with water pomp), radiator and the electronics for the pv I believe.
hypothetically i could put a dt 200 top end on a ysf200?
Wouldnt u need a water pump still and radiator? Would try to get that whole motor tbh lol 32 hp stock maybe 40 with Reed cage and pipes and bigger carb
You can if you swap the clutch cover (from the yfs to the dt) and grab a radiator I believe.
@@Kyle_gallegher inline electric waterpump would work fine
Do they have the same Size Reeds ?
No but the reed cages can be swapped between the 2
Es compatible el cigueñal de yamaha blaster con el sistema de encendido dt 200
Are the head and base gaskets different ?
head gaskets different, base are the same
What is the port duration?
They're nasty fast
Port duration would be the same as the blasters except the exhaust port duration would be varying with the power valve. I don't have the exact numbers.
@@troybore9981 and transfer port duration??
@@petercarlboer2793 All port duration are the same as the blaster except the exhaust port.
Only the power valve moves so that’s the only port with duration. Do you mean port size and dimensions?
Do you still have the dt 200?
Where do you think the DT’s extra hp comes from ?
Exhaust port I guess, bigger exhaust port for more power but still have good power and torque at low-mid end because of power valve
This is just a guess,I’m not a 2 stroke expert 😂
it’s actually closer to the yamaha IT 200
The It200 sprocket is on the right side and different stroke I think, I buy Blaster pistons, gaskets, clutch basket and bearings for my Dt200l
That yfs200 almost same look like a DT175 engine
Apples and oranges seeing as ones liquid cooled and the other air cooled
About a 15hp diff lol
You wrong on the horse power comparison
He's not wrong, there are a lot of sites that state 32/33 hp.
@@mrpowdercoater for the dt200r (second gen) and this is the first one, i think.
My father's blaster has 80hp
bullshit, unless it has a banshee motor in the frame, or 2 240 stroker Blaster engines side by side
a question is the crankshaft of the dt 200 the same as the blaster 200?
The DT200L crank is the same bud, but the 200R 3ET is different on the primary side
