This video is great. I've got a 2007 model still going strong and daily runner. I designed custom stickers and got them printed in Germany. I lost the psd version of my designs and the printer is nowhere to be found these days. If I ever find that guy I would print the same stickers again if I could for my rebuild. The video isn't correct. The last model was a 125 RE 2007/9 model. It is the one I have. It is high action and the DT 125 RE which is the one I own. I think these are rare and may have been in Europe markets only. If I get enough likes here I'll do short videos on the restoration I am planning. I want to do it as the bike is so well built.
I`ve still never found the model I bought second hand in `85. It was already perhaps 3 years old. The most identifying feature was that it had a spring adjuster under the saddle which could wind-up or down to rear suspension, and thus the seat height. It was bought from Harry Bastable`s in Shell Corner. It had YPVS. The only picture I had of her was thrown away by my ex. Any ideas?
Im rebuilding after mine doesnt run anymore :D Ive had my 1991 dt125r for 20years. My first and only motorcycle 😎 Got it when 16, now I'm 36. Just bought a new rear tyre for it and looking to change the crankshaft to a fresher one soon. Ive ridden many different bikes, Hayabusa, R1, 2x zx10-r ninjas, sv1000s, bt1100 bulldog, intruder 800, kawasaki er5, xt660x, husqvarna sms125, kx250(not actually a street bike lol). Gotta hand the most comfortable to ride for long distance for the ER-5. Bulldog is so wide my legs always catch the draft and open wide(have to squeeze constantly) and the sportbikes are tiring until you go 120km/h for the wind to lighten you up. The custom intruder is very nice to ride but well its a custom so you dont want to visit offroad :) Just have to put it bluntly, the DT only needs a bigger engine to have headroom for torque and more acceleration but its so perfect to ride and maintain.
I really love two strokes. 2 stroke motorcycles were out in the Philippine market in the early 20's. I have a TS 125er and i'm still using it today in trails. But i think DT 125/175 is more reliable than TS.
I had 4 DT125R in the late 90s , I made one fast af I skimmed top end because I blew it up just after I bought it , new piston an rings an chain an sprockets , I wish I never sold that one , plus rest an I had a KMX 200 an a Honda MTX 125 then a YZ 250 that was just 2 fast, one of the DTRS was a G reg with lights and plate still on for £500 but it had a different smaller Down pipe to others an it was slow for some reason
I have a 2002 sachs zx 125 enduro (made in Germany) with yamaha dt engine but with 28 mm dellorto carb. I just need a 30 slide for the carb to make it 24hp but can't find one here in Eastern EU 😢
Great vid...rewind November 1982 as an (almost) 17 year old i paid £799 for a brand new one, kept it 2 years then bought a car. Fast forward 20 years ...in 2002 at 36 years old i bought another brand new one for £2500, passed my test on it and kept it 4 years. On both bikes i simply took restrictors out of the exhaust for much better performance. Now in 2024 at age 58 I'm about to buy a Honda CRF 300L. You're never too old.
re built loads of wrs and my dtr is still the fastest by far and most reliable and cheapest to run, plastic for wr x and r is silly and they weigh a tone
So glad someone's made a video going over the history of the dt I love these bikes and a proud owner of one
Surprised there wasn't one made already since its such an iconic bike 😁
the undestructible dt125 ❤
I have a 2005 dt 125 good condition best bike ever I have 4 years with it can’t complain not one bite
Finally my motorcycle is on a thumnail!
Just got my 75 dt250 running!!

Two strokes are not dead. They are still build by European motorcycle companies such as Husqvarna, GasGas and KTM as recreational bikes.
Euro 4 killed 2t road bikes*
@@RHauto you can still register these new 2 stroke gas gas, ktm and husqvarna bikes and use on public roads
@@no.nomoreidontcareyes but Not with the Open HP so you can never Drive them fully legal

Great. Thanks for that 👍
I'm holding on to mine until it no longer runs. It's great bike that revs differently than the sea of 4 strokes we have today.

Going to the 4stroke was like getting of your 125 pocket rocket onto a 50cc.
Great now i know what "MX" means, i own a french (MBK) build 1989 DT 50 MX, just finished rebuilding it, even the 50cc ist quite fun to ride
I have a never-used white and red DT125 from around 1987!
Hello…Is your dt125 for sale ?

Is the 1992 DTR 125 a premix from factory? Thanks
@elliotdownie7431 They all came with oil tank and oil injector from factory after 1988 for the DTR 125 👍

Missed the tenere version
Always wanted a 125 DT....Is the TS 125ER still good?
TS is not as good as the DT says owners, also less parts available than the DTs but still a fun bike besides that!
you missed out the dt 125 tenere
Bring back 2stroke
what about the 1980 dt175G
What's the hp numbers for later models? 1984 has 22 hp
The DTRs 1990 onwards were around 14hp with the restriction in exhaust
And without restrictions?@@RHauto
@@nisseht I've read people say it's about 20hp with the ypvs pinned fully open
