Honestly, I have one similar. So, add in all the Mogami wiring cabling & plugs, side wiring & plugs and the bottom gear and: you're at $5,000 to $6,000 depending on the installation Tech's costs. I have a lot of respect & admiration for Pete's kindness, above average mind, very honorable integrity character and very very awesome work ethic.
I can't believe you were not chosen for a Van Halen tribute, no one even comes close to how accurate you are. Not to mention what an an amazing guitarist you are with you're own identity. I love you're amazing talents. GOD BLESS
Here's what I love about this walk-through: no matter how many pedals there might be, it always sounds like a guy playing a guitar through an amp. It's not overly processed and drenched in layers of delays (as in one I just saw of an 80s/90s guitar god). So bravo to Pete for those choices that let the artistry come through. Good lesson! Yay Rack Systems! From an old Valley guy who bought early Way Huge pedals from them and had work done there on Weddington Ave! Ah, the 90s had what is now vintage charm... Glad to see Crazy Tubes represented! My first Pete Thorn demo was the Crazy Tubes Ziggy pedal. From that intro I was hooked and have been an avid follower. Thanks Pete!
Was headed in to get some play time before work and saw that Pete had a new video. Missed out on my play time but was a good choice to watch on my part. Great video. Pete is so creative! Here he shows his creativity not just in writing, playing and producing but in designing a new board. What an artist! And I love how well he teaches. Thank you, Professor Thorn! You and Rick Beato never disappoint! That would be a great interview: Rick interviews Pete Thorn! I’ll be praying for that one.
Putting a new board together is always fun. Switching in and out, trying different combinations. I've got 3 boards and am always trying different setups to see what works best with other pedals and just going for different sounds and tones. And different pedals for different guitars. And that Keeley compressor is great. That's on my main board along with a Wampler Ego. The Keeley is strictly for my Tele and Strat.
I’ve been thinking about going that route. Instead of trying to have a huge pedalboard that attempts to do everything all in one place and winds up compromising one thing for another, I’m thinking of going with smaller purposeful boards. A smaller dedicated board for every genre of music I like tailored to those sounds and paired with those specific guitars in mind.
whenever I watch your videos I immediately rethink my whole setup and proceed to try and get close the the amazing setups you always present. thanks for being a constant inspiration. Love the Illumine BTW. Have an immerse 2 but want to get the midi functionality.
Second time watching. This time I noted the Tonex1. I just added one to my HX Stomp board. It took some time but I found two really good tone captures that sound better than my HX amp models and has worked out really well going thru the HX loop. It leaves me more DSP for the HX effects.
I really need these songs from your videos on spotify. They're sooooo good. I often watch your videos over and over to listen to the songs. Really love your work. You're one of the good ones on this platform
Pete. Just think you are amazing. Not only yoir playing but descriptions. I am struggling with my sde 3000 EVH. Plugging in to my tscam and the load boxes confuse me. Is there a way around it and the buttons on the unit are confusing to me. 55 years of playing with a million pedals amd I feel like a total ludite. You’re so fluid on it and Bosses manuals are not very helpful. Keep doing what you’re doing. Nobody is better than you. I really mean that. Thanks for any assist.
I’m an oldie. We had pedals when we were young. When we could afford the big racks, we got those. Now it’s back to pedals. The new pedals are amazing though. I suppose the all one modelers are the rack multi effects of today.
Wow! Thanks for showing your pedal board and gosh it's very versatile how you can root root to signalling all different ways. Send, sends and returns and have you played around with stacked compressors something I haven't played around with. I've I've used dbx rack mount rack compressors I can certainly see why you need two panel boards while one's in transit. You've still got your other one to bliss. Fun with to your heart's content enjoy! Have fun. That's what he's all about. I need to get myself plugged into my RC300 boss looper. Cheers take care. Can't wait to see more videos
The Dig is perfect for dirt tones since it can stay so clean and has a ton of headroom. Maybe you just prefer analog or tape style color on the delay. Nothing wrong with that.
I gotta say Pete, I pride myself on creating unique sounds on the guitar. You do this in spades everytime! Love the new board and thanks for the great rundown.
@@PeteThorn No worries brother. I love creating vids on YT to help others too. Channel is starting to really take off. Your buddy Tim Pierce gave me some great help in the beginning. I love this stuff. Have a great day Pete.
Hey Pete greetings from the homeland 🇨🇦 This was an awesome video brother. It was very educational in terms of signal path and output options. Killer playing too my man !❤
After playing since 1982 and at one point or another owning virtually every piece of gear under the sun since, I recently just said "eff it" and got myself a Helix. Couldn't be happier.
Happy you put back the Crazy Tube Circuits' Starlight. Hard to beat. By the way, I personally think your 2014 pedalboard is still the best sounding ever.
Well thought out board and love the flexibility. Thank you for sharing! I’m in the process of brainstorming up a board myself and this was good to see.
Like many others I have two boards and way more pedals than I need, but I am constantly changing things around and trying new stuff. The one thing I have never tried is a switcher. I just don't know that I have the patience or desire to learn how to set one up and design patches. It does get expensive, but playing with different sounds is fun and that is why we do it.
Can't argue with that tone. Super interesting! I swapped out my Dig v2 for a Meris LVX - I have a simple route - Shure Wireless into Kemper Player into Meris LVX into BigSky MX into RC-5 for backing tracks then Pro D2 Di to FOH. Using Midi Captain to control Kemper. Curious to try that little mixer. You rock, Sir!
PETE! That whole intro is amazing (as all your intro songs are) but 1:20 - 1:50 = got'dam! My gf was in the kitchen making a daiquiri, she's a Swifie with little interest in rock/metal and even she perked up and asked what band I was listening to (I got her hooked on Testament after I let her hear the solo on return to serenity and she loved it, so this is a good sign!) Great rig btw

Thanks for the video Pete. You are a great creative artist and very eloquent. The way you pass on your experience and expertise is one of the best on this platform. Thank you for being there and thank you very much for your time. It is not a given that you reveal so many of your secrets and make them available to the whole of society. Chapeau! Would Velcro / mounting tape (pedalboard tape or hook and loop etc.) be needed, or what? Another question that concerns me is: what patch cords did Rack Systems use?
Very, very interesting. I don’t use MIDI so that’s always the part where I get a little confused. But I do understand the ease of it. And the versatility of course.
