    The fact that health authorities aren’t giving us this type of information on the likes of zinc & vit D is frankly shameful

    • @DougMorley1
      @DougMorley1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +138

      But not surprising. For example regarding vitamin D, Hancock, when health minister in answer to a question by David Davis MP said that vitamin D had been studied as to its affect against covid and that it had no protective properties. This was a lie and was proved to be such later on. Politicians and their advisers, the "experts" know the science but will never reveal it as they have their own sinister agenda.

      I wonder what kind of medical advice people are getting? I live in an extremely liberal part of the country and I have BOTH my eye doctor and primary care physician talk about the benefits of vitamin supplementation. It is just common sense and not ignored in my area. Maybe in rural areas it is considered weak to take multivitamins? I don’t get it, just common sense to supplement unless you are super specific and targeted in your food choice.

      @kdh130 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Yuri R. OK, thanks.
      This is what I found so far, but I will keep looking -
      "During a 2-year study conducted by a US-based government organisation called National Toxicology Program, male rats fed 2 g/kg body weight/day of quercetin (corresponding to a dose of 140 g for a 70 kg individual) showed severe chronic nephropathy, hyperplasia and neoplasia of the renal tubular epithelium. At lower doses, from 50 to 500 mg/kg/day, no significant adverse effects were reported. However, parallel studies performed using the same rat model failed to confirm the renal histopathological effects of quercetin. Therefore, the possibility of negative side effects from oral supplementation with quercetin in the usual range of 200 to 2000mg/day is very unlikely."

But let us not be like children here. We know well enough that the food industry and the medical industry are the two biggest influencers of Government policy across the world and have been since the end of WW2. These included changing my diet and vitamin/mineral supplements. When my medications were prescribed there was no discussions about any deficiencies and I was told I must take these medications for the rest of my life. I must say that I and I alone understand my body's reaction to medications and since I have been using zinc suppliments, I rarely get a cold or flu and when I do, it lasts for only a couple of days. Leia you might believe that organic foods are expensive, though that is not as true as you believe, but 'natural' foods are vital!
      What would you suggest? Families to eat from the cheapest fast food outlets, or stuff themselves full of packaged processed 'foods'?
      I agree that here in the UK we couldn't produce enough of the eggs I buy to feed the country but everything else could quite easily be produced in enough quantities.
      In fact, I did of course ask myself the question of cost when I went organic about 30 years ago.
      Back then it wasn't so easy so most of the extra cost was in travelling to find the food since I live in London and we don't have too many farms here.
      But every couple of years I run an experiment to see how much our meals are costing us.
      The last time I did that I priced up my spaghetti Bolognese, and I included the cost of the pasta though I eat it with spiralised courgettes.
      Organic beef, carrots, onions, celery, bacon, tomatoes and tomato puree. And I even calculated the cost of the butter and olive oil and the herbs and seasoning!
      Oh and the organic parmesan too which of course is expensive.
      Well, one meal cost just a third of the non-organic, chemical filled ready meal in Sainsbury's that so many people buy!
      And obviously it's way cheaper than ordering it in a cafe or chain restaurant, which people who complain about the cost of organic food also buy!
      And we do use a lot of that parmesan too - way more than you get in that ready meal box.
      You do need to be able to cook of course but with meals like that I make enough Bolognese sauce for ten, giving the two of us five meals and freeze it for a day we don't want to to so much cooking.
      We pay around £10 for a chicken but from that one chicken we get four meals as well as the broth to use in soups.
      And we don't eat chicken almost every day as some seem to.
      So yes, £2.50 is probably more than some people pay for a whole chicken but it hardly breaks the bank.
      And apart from the welfare of the animal, we are not consuming the antibiotics that we'd rather not have and they are just two benefits of many.
      Making a chicken and mushroom risotto tonight with a celeriac salad :-)
      Oh and for three days each week we don't eat at all. So that saves money and time!
      I decided to fast for a minimum of 36 hours three times a week rather than doing it each day for a shorter time period.

      Early treatment protocols and therapeutics have been suppressed and censored by Fauci, the FDA, CDC, the media & Big Tech (Facebook, Twitter etc) because they challenge their "only the vaccine works" narrative. Also, had the FDA, the CDC, and Fauci admitted there were effective therapeutics for Covid, it would have undermined the EUA for the vaccines. It's about money & profit. Currently have Covid. Symptoms started on Saturday I believe. 24, Male, 170 Lbs, 6’2”, no chronic conditions. Did Regeneron (1 1200 mg infusion) yesterday, feel like I can breathe better now. X-Ray showed possible pneumonia in the lower part of my left lung. Vitamin D since January 2020 (2000 IU’s every day, 4000 for the past 2 months or so, 6000-8000 for the past week), Zinc/Vitamin C and Quercetin occasionally for the past year or so. Only medication currently is Prescription Acid Reflux stuff. Symptoms are/were fatigue, headache, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, knee paint, upper arm pain, low grade fever, slight shortness of breathe when moving around, slight sore throat, congestion, occasional sneezing, lowered sense of taste and smell, and the worst of them all: the cough. Hopefully getting better, starting to feel a little better every day. I am vaccinated as well, did Janssen (J&J) on August 9th. Rapid Test at my university showed negative result on Tuesday, felt it was was wrong and later that day did a Flu Test which showed negative, and a PCR test that showed Positive and got those results on Thursday. Dad is one of the head radiologists at the Cleveland Clinic so he’s been helping me along the way. Been following Dr. Campbell and MedCram since January 2020. Dad and I are in contact with the head of Infectious Diseases, head of Radiology, and my personal doctor for this condition is one of the dept heads for the Regeneron Clinic. They said I should be fine. Regeneron nurse said there are loads of breakthrough cases, every type of vaccinated patient, but of course worst patients are the unvaccinated. She said Regeneron had very good results as well. Anyways, that’s me as of today 😅

    Dr. Campbell. I did not hear you caution against taking "too much" supplemental zinc. In the U.S., we have many people who think that if a little bit is good, more is better. It is important not to take "extra" zinc, because it can be toxic at high doses, starting at levels approximately 10 x the recommended dose. None of the other essential elements have such a small difference between the needed amount and an amount that risks toxicity.

      Last Light, AGREED, as someone who likes to sip water from a fire hose, the toxicity of zinc at "modestly excessive" levels is important to highlight. The good doctor "not particularly agreeing" with the declaration that minimal to no side effects from supplementation are known, and highlight that dosage needs to be well regulated may be a bit understated a caution "DO NOT (much) EXCEED dosage recommendations. I'm still not sure if he was saying he'd probably take 50 or 15 mg 3-5 times a week . . . okay, I think he's saying fifteen ? (11 mg daily was the recommended dosage for males 14+)

    That's a really informative update. I'm urging my family to take zinc 3 times a week and I will too. The trouble for me with taking zinc is that it interferes with calcium absorption and iron absorption and all three need to be well spaced out as I am on calcium already and soon to be on iron. It does get complicated when taking more than one mineral supplement so people need to be aware of the interactions. They affect each others absorption. GPs don't seem to routinely check zinc levels but I did have mine recently checked privately because of hair issues and was glad to see I am not deficient but I plan to take supplements anyway to be sure it stays that way if I can work out a timing with my other minerals as you need 3 hour gaps.

    • @user-nx6ji9tk8i
      @user-nx6ji9tk8i 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Supplementation when not deficient may be deleterious. Read up on Patrick Holford on optimal nutrition. Find me the paper that shows that single nutrient supplementation is beneficial unless seriously deficient. Many studies show that supplements have ss many down side as benefits. The jury is still out except in very specific circumstances ( such as right at the start of a cold…. ) And not known in Covid yet.
