I believe that what it says on the package "Locks when wet or dirty" they are referring to the fastener surfaces. Not the surface you are sticking the fastener onto. They will lock together if they are wet or a little dirty. I was looking for a replacement to your regular Velcro in an RC car application. Velcro doesn't work well when it gets dirty. You are correct. I have always made sure to prepare the surface regardless for best results. So many people complain about these types of peel off adhesives not sticking. Most of the problem occurs because the surface is not clean and that is why I went down that road. But you are correct I mis-spoke on that part of the video.

Depends on your ceiling and if it's flat and doesn't have texture. Use at your own risk of course because if you try to pull it off you may pull off some of the paint and drywall.
@@octjubilee2024 there are so many different types of shower tile with that said I would think it would be fine if you would use some lighter fluid and squirt it on the adhesive and let it sit for a while before you try to remove it. Then just remove from top to bottom a little at a time add another squeeze of lighter fluid and remove again. I wouldn't go about scraping It Off then you might damage tile
Great video, but what about the sticking power of what the velcro strips are attached to? You demonstrated how strong the velcro pieces stick together, but some reviewers say that velcro products don't stick well to where you are putting them (e.g., a brick wall or house wall). My application will be attaching solar lights to my brick wall.
I would not personally use these on pourouse material. Brick can absorb moisture. Why would you want to mount something this important with velcro straps. Drill with concrete drill bit and concrete anchors is what I would do.
I'm not real familiar with dual lock but I do not think that it's rated for any type of weight. So my answer is yes these are the best.. Probably better than dual lock.
No, I never said up to a thousand uses. I said up to 1,000 times you are supposed to be able to pull them apart and put them back together. Like I said in the video I don't know who would do that. I'm using these for permanent Fasteners myself.

Going to use this to hold a portable radio mount in my boat - hope the backing adheres to fiberglass - will clean with rubbing alcohol first
I would think it would be just fine make sure it's super clean and hold pressure at least for 30 seconds on the strip

Is there a Velcro that doesn’t need the fuzzy part and it could just latch on to any fabric?
Velcro can latch on to certain types of fabrics but not all of them. Just so you know this is not that type of Velcro this is a plastic type fastener.
