It's called Nam Tok (which means "waterfall") because when you grill the fresh meat (normally with the fat parts) on the hot charcoal, the oil of the meat will drop onto the charcoal and make sizzles. If you dont want to mix it with those ingredients, you can also eat the sliced grilled meat with traditional dippings as well. The dippings are similar to the mixture of those ingredients but we don't put much vegetables into it. Instead, we will eat the vegetables as a side dish. Anyway, thank you for liking thai food. There are many more thai yummy food to be explored. Keep it up ;)
Beautifully filmed. Please keep posting. I love how I visit your channel and there is something new every time 👌 my family are also from Laos and Thai but we live in America now. Your videos are amazing and keeps our customs alive thank you!
Awesome Duncan. You should list the ingredients required in your TH-cam information above. That way we can go out and buy all the ingredients.. then come back.. watch the video and cook it up.
What a spectacular spot to cook up a feed. Can't wait to be back there later in the year. That fish sauce you use in all your videos, is it available here in Sydney as my wife (Thai) was curious to test it out.
Thanks for your comment, we do have a recipe for this but not online yet. Here is another dish I'm sure you will enjoy making and eating, it is so tasty, cheers How to make the best Thai Mushroom Laab. (vegetarian) ลาบเห็ด
Duncan's Thai Kitchen this is to plain......it's more suitable to westerners pallet than an asian....you left out the 3 most important ingredients, kaffir lime leaf, lemon grass, and padeck............other than that, looks ok for westerners pallets...........
This is NOT the same kind of Thai Beef Salad that is served in most Thai Restaurants here in the USA !!! You forgot the Romaine Lettuce, Cherry Tomatoes, and the Lime Juice !!!
