Pro tip. Sometimes you are outmatched. With everyone starting in bronze, there is a chance you faced a team on their way to masters and just had no chance. Don’t tilt, go next.
Smurfing or zero to hero accounts are super rare especially in low ranks since they'll climb out of medal ranks in like a day. Not something worth considering.
This is only really relevant at the start of the season & it’s not relevant for long. Like someone else said, the hardcore gamers are going to blow past lower ranks in the first couple days/weeks.
Just a general tip for any player, to help your supports: Use the ping system to ask for heals. Screaming into the mic “heal me heal me!” won’t work; I have no idea who tf you are! Don’t tilt, use the tools the game gives you.
I play support and fully agree but when I'm playing something else it's really infuriating if healers just don't react, today I had like 50 health left with moon knight and was behind cover next to my healers and sent out at least 5 "Heal me" requests but they didn't react eventually i just gave up and went to the nearest health pack
@LiaVanRevolutionif there is a health pack nearby and the supports are doing something else, maybe it would had been better for u to get the health pack in the first place? But if the supports were near you then fair enough supports are supposed to do more than just heal bot-ing
@LiaVanRevolution Can’t speak to the support players you had since I don’t know the situation, but there have been plenty of times I’ve temporarily ignored someone needing healing right beside me in favour of keeping the people ahead of me up. The person beside me is safe as long as they don’t poke, the people on the verge of death in a fight need my heals more. At that point I kinda do hope the person beside me (almost always a DPS) just goes and gets a health pack. XD Though it does sound like that time your supports might’ve been a bit dense.
Bronze is bananas man. I know I'm a new player and probably suck hard but the people I keep getting teamed with must have just rolled out of the womb lol. I'll get through it though!
It’s because people don’t listen when their teammates are telling them they’re doing something wrong. They consider it, “being toxic” & maybe they are just lashing out, but sometimes your teammate is telling you real spit. So, my tip is, take everyone’s advice AT LEAST into consideration. Even if it doesn’t help you improve, it could show you what they’re thinking, and if you’re a good player, you can accommodate to them for the win.
One rule i learned very early on playing competitive games is : Never trade certanty for uncertanty. Never risk a fight that have 50-50% outcome when you can do 100-0% with a simple repositioning.
one of my biggest issues is positioning. I never feel like im in the right place. I often will try to flank as scar. witch or hang back only to then TP behind the enemy guns blazin. Sometimes i get a team wipe, sometimes i get instantly lasered.
@@justadude117X Flanking is actually one of the hardest ways to play DPS. You have to understand very well if your commitment is even worth the risk or not. Also, the biggest reason why is it so hard is because people never know when to retreat. They push because they think they can get a kill but the chase often not worth the risk. You can chase an enemy and get yourself killed. Here is my advice. Try to flank without your abilities. Try to find isolated targets, and fight 1v1. As soon as somebody gonna help you must dip. You should always keep your mobility abilities for getting out of situations and never waste them to get into situations (unless you have an actual plan to get out)
@@justadude117Xgenerally scarlet witch will struggle any time she’s not with a tank. Low elos may teach you to just run at your opponent and you’ll out damage them, but if they can reasonably hit shots (or know their kit enough where it doesn’t matter), you’re getting out damaged and losing 1v1s. A lot of people say SW isn’t viable, but really she just has to play tight on her tank and trust other DPS or tanks to take out healers. Note the type of tank matters. Don’t play tight with a captain america who thinks he’s immortal running into the enemy back line.
@@tannercollins6696 Yes it is. I mean you either listen to your ego and try 1v1 the opponent and have a 50% outcome, or just position or ask your team to 6v1 gang his ahh and you have 100%.
just hit diamond yesterday, and my solution was asking your teammates who’s bugging them the most and hard target them free wins fr and everyone’s happy
Here’s the biggest tip you can ever learn, have at least 1-2 characters per role that you can play. Instead of locking in as another dps, be the hero your team needs.
Great advice . This help me get out of that hell zone of bronze . I just learned 2 of every role helped me out alot . I usually fill in because man these people in solo Q do not know how to adjust
Lol, whenever I see an insta-dps lock, I already tailor my expectations of the match. Good thing is, it is usually a short swift quick-lived experience. 😂 Solo-queueing through silver is a f'n nightmare.
Hey, DPS player here, i hit one above all yesterday and what i recommend y’all to do to climb (with dps) is to learn AT LEAST 3 DPS and preferably 4, just make it so that no matter what the enemy bans you still have something to play with the best dps in high ranks objectively speaking are 1. Hawkeye\Hela 2. Psylocke 3. Winter Soldier if you really want to climb, these characters have insane carry potential. I really recommend knowing hawkeye and hela to punish the enemies if they don’t ban them and once they do, you can play whatever you want (Personally i climbed with magik, to a point that they target banned me and had to leave one of the op dps open) As for your bans, you should really focus on the supports, usually luna and mantis will DESTROY your ultimates so you should ban them if you wanna get any value with your ultimates Also at higher ranks you start to see a lot of the same players over and over again, try to send a friend request to a good support and team up with them, having a pocket makes your life 10x easier plus it’ll be a lot more fun to climb with someone else good luck :)
@@ArmedandDangerous918 lol, iron fist is really only viable in lower ranks, once you get higher up people are more aware of his presence and will posture towards him when he tries to go in for a quick kill, once you reach diamond and higher he really falls off. Best of luck to you either way though, on the bright side, he will most likely not get banned often
To add to bronze, i recommend playing as the supports... yes, you wont be the mega killer most games, but you are consistent and thats key. Get really good with a character like luna snow or cloak & dagger and you will see improvement
Honestly, this a good tip. Just progress, get used to the gameplay at higher levels then switch up. What you said is exactly how it went for me. Couldn't get in with Psylocke, switched to Luna, won two games out of three in ranked.
I am new to this kind of games and just went on a 5 game win-streak with Rocket. I love how they reward you with the assists. makes me feel like I did my part!
@jelledemaeyer7329 yeaaaa those assists make me feel good. Maybe try Mantis as well. You can be your team's healer and snag some kills with a lot of assists
My biggest issue in plat 1 is my team will never do wnything about support being dove on. I always laugh when I am 10 feet behind a tank, get 3 shot by spiderman, then the tank spams, "I need healing"
@ even if i escape once if my dps can’t do anything in general we are going to lose and that’s what’s been happening to me the past 3 days. The match making gives me braindead teammates while the other team rolls and I have 20k healing
Bro same. I've hit Diamond twice and the second I get it. I lose 4-5 games in a row. Complete blow outs. Like my team doesn't even try. It's infuriating.
Same here. Feels like 1/10 games are actually close where either team could win, and 9/10 times one team just dominates. It's weird but that's the way it seems to go
@GodWorksOut i have been soloQ since I started. I have no one to play with lol. I'm sure that's most people too. I have voice chat on but I rarely say anything. I ping all the time though. Heals, retreat, defend, point out enemies flanking and so on.
My bestfriend and I hit diamond. And my biggest advice to climbing as a support is to learn Cloak & Dagger. She has the most self agency and defensive tools. I know when I queue solo I’ll spend the entire game being dove in the backline with no help. I’ll end the game with 1-2 deaths to solo ults where if I played another support I wouldn’t have been able to survive heavy dive. Her ult + bubble combo is also like a baby Luna ult. And can tank multiple ults, and if paired with your shroud you can mitigate 2-3 ults with proper cooldown rotation.
her ult if you just stack it all on same spot is 660hp every second. Lunas only 250hp. But doesnt really matter too much as your dps mains refuse to fight anywhere near luna ult or dagger ult. Its best used at spawn to push your team out of it.
@@Jebu911 I typically ult chokes, making a zigzag so I can push up and allowing my Vanguards to push with me. And my friend plays mantis so her damage amp on my ult makes it hard for the enemy to stay in it while we push.
The hardest thing to learn are these maps. The destruction gives this game a r6s feel to it. Breaking down a wall can change your path and make a crazy flank or knock down a whole building to increase line of site of kill a sniper by dropping the roof on his head
I would love to see a video breaking down each map and showing the best places to defend from. I notice a lot of people playing way too far up into the enemy spawn (even in plat). It would be cool to see the best places to defend from at each point in each map
Mental is also very important… I’ve seen games flip in this and in ow… first person who tilts most of the time that team loses… if you can stay calm and assess the issues you can farm… I got a week off work a while back and in one week climbed from diamond to Top 500 in ow in just 4 days… bc I stayed completely calm and if someone tilted they got kicked til they cooled off :)
You just need a bit of luck. Notice how you get long winstreaks and long lose streaks? One day one of those win streaks will get you out of bronze, eventually Bronze is chaos, you will get the worst teammates against what feels like a full stack. It's just luck of the draw. As long as you are not playing badly and brainlessly you will get out of bronze I assure you, it might just take a long time. As a comparison, when I finally got safely to silver I made it to gold in one night. And even if I hadn't the games were much closer and everyone was playing at least somewhat competently. Use the extra time in bronze to get better at the game And if you're really stuck in bronze still after numerous weeks you need to get really good with one character to carry. You could play a healer that also does damage to contribute more, for example. The biggest issue i saw was nobody wanting to play tank though when going against 2 enemy tanks... but again he's right you can win with whatever as long as you try to play your best and pull your weight (at some point you will have to learn other classes). Remember you gain more MMR than you lose. Bronze is full of "experts" crying in chat i hope you're not one of them
@raulpetrascu2696 Persistance is the name of the game. Something that got me out (Not that it matters with new season.) Stop playing after 2 looses. Don't fall on the streak. It's a bad day to play, just do it later.
One thing I noticed in the lower ranks that actually frustrated me was that no one seems to have awareness at all and this actually extends up to plat and even sometimes diamond. I play support and if I can DPS. When playing support I had issues with the other support/DPS helping take on flanks as they simply wouldn't listen to callouts/pings. When playing DPS I had issues with support actually looking around and not just focusing on the tanks, as a punisher I would try grab flank spots, high ground etc, if I get hit I would go grab a medkit/ask for heals and retreat for the time being... People do not listen to pings at all so I would often have to resort into just running off for a medkit meaning I am out of the fight. Also I would often have to give up high ground or good spots simply due to support not knowing they can actually look anywhere but in front of them. And so many actually use voice chat... But not to do callouts, to simply shit talk when things go bad. Seriously I had a full team in voice chat and the only time they spoke was to shit talk each other, instead of shit talking each other how about you actually call out where they all are? That's useful info that we can then use to win and climb. But no, instead you would rather tell someone you fucked their mum and that they are trash. I do wonder what goes through most peoples heads when playing games like this.
Tips from a GM: Gold or below: If you are gold or below, you would likely benefit greatly from increased mechanical skill. Depending on your character, your ability to aim is a vital factor in your ability to be effective. Playing enough to understand the map and characters / abilities will come naturally over time and allow you to climb ranks as you get more familiar. A huge amount of people stuck in gold or below typically are using a very high sensitivity. Lower your sensitivity by a few numbers and feel it out in practice range. Then play a few quick-play matches to feel it out and realize it’s a lot easier to hit your shots and being able to spin a 360 with a single flick of your wrist is essentially useless in practice. Platinum: Once you reach platinum you’ll notice an increased friction in success and it’ll be a lot harder to determine why. No matter how well you perform as an individual, some games are close, some games you steamroll, and some games you get absolutely stomped and don’t even understand why. There is a mixed bag of people in plat who are extremely mechanically skilled, people who’ve put in enough hours to brute force their ELO, and people who actually seem completely untouchable because of their sound strategy and positioning. As a solo it will be difficult to get consistency, but you need to really engage as a person who is filling a role for your team. Stop trying to out DPS your team as a healer. Stop trying to brawl toe to toe with the entire enemy team as a tank. Work with your team to target people properly with consistent pressure, and work to establish what they’re doing well and shut it down. If you hold tab and realize that the enemy Hawkeye has 38 kills, it’s probably time to play into his weaknesses and focus him down so that he can no longer effectively shut down your team and carry the whole game. Trickling and getting picked off cause you’re antsy to see your DMG number go up is a great way to stagger and prevent your team from ever getting any actual momentum as well. Diamond: Reaching diamond is realizing that a lot of the guys who are slightly above average but think they are a pro-in-the-making and spend their entire afternoon crying and blaming their team for throwing their precious ELO (He instalocked Hela and got 8k dmg trying to spawn farm) manage to get filtered out and teams consist of people who are more well-rounded and organized. Coordinating in voice-chat, picking bans to weaken counter-comps, and people who hit their shots and use their abilities effectively become more and more normal. Diamond is a longer grind but working with your team and positioning properly to try to stay alive and provide value when necessary will go a long way. Utilizing your ult and not holding it for the whole game so that you can get to work on farming more ult charge starts to take precedence over trying to be a flashy hard-carry. Lmk if you have any questions.
the stop staggering tip is so important man, I feel like people don't understand the strength of going in as a team of 6 rather than 1 by 1. Its another reason I love playing with dr strange players because his portal will convince teammates to all run through it together as a team.
super tip. right hand peaking is better than left hand peaking and you should prioritize right hand peaking when both are available to you and in a similar position
This on storm makes her unbelievably better, positioning well with storm you can just shred becuase of her pierce dmg and peek in n out with her movement
I found that getting out of the lower ranks bronze/silver/gold is best achieved with a duo. If you and your duo is competent then you will climb extremely fast but even if you have no duo just instalock hela. Ik it sounds bad but in these ranks you can never rely on a teammate so rely on yourself
@ this is just my experience but just so you know I’m a tank player who mains Thor, the truth is you can provide the most solo value on dps. If you play tank you rely on supports and if you play support you rely on the tanks and dps to protect you. As a dps you rely on yourself
I instalocked hela and got to gold 2 the same day I installed the game. It’s pretty easy to carry in lower ranks if you have experience from prior fps like ow2 and valorant
@@genesis9849 Masters is pretty nice. I only peaked at Gold 2 but I only played for one season. The game kept putting me in Middle East servers instead of my Singapore servers. It just wasn’t fun understanding a single comm or them not understanding me. I’m so glad Rivals launched with a server selector off the rip
I reached eternity last night but it’s still always fun watching these videos I played a game with u on ur coach mills 2 account a few days ago. Our teammates called u and ur channel out. You ignored us but I’m here to tell u the videos are great
gm 2 still climbing myself. honestly I wish this videos would tell people… go to the practice range and work on your aim/ skills if you are new to this kind of game. I got coached in ow2 as a plat and climbed to GM after. My coach’s first lessons for about 2 weeks was just aim training.
@clashingimages I would say rivals is the least mechanical heavy hero shooter I’ve ever played. I don’t have great aim, and still managed to climb really high
Bro I just wanted to say thank for this. I’ve been playing for a min now and I wasn’t good at the game at first until I seen that position guide video really leveled up my gameplay a lot. all the info you been giving out has been so good. Keep it up man
This page has helped me so much !!! Keep making these informational type videos. This game is a cerebral game so your videos are spot on. A map breakdown would also be cool especially for off angles and choke points
I've already been subbed for a while, but I've always struggled with tank decision-making, especially on engagement. I'd love an in-depth guide on that! Love the content
you will plateau at diamond if you play this way definitely account for your teammates not being perfect but if you play like youre the only good player on your team they can't support you
Me and a group of buddies recently 4 stacked from bronze to diamond one without a loss. We then had varying success with our matches after and we are currently in diamond 2. Today we had 6 wins and 5 losses. One of our losses the 2 random teamates left after one round and we couldnt properly 4v6. But i do find these videos still helpful and am always looking at where i can improve in my own gameplay to better climb the ranks with more success.
Ikr. All these top 500 players talking about "just focus on you". When you're in bronze, and you're team queues up Black Widow, Spiderman, and 3 other DPSs, no amount of "focussing on myself" is going to match the opponents 2-2-2 lol. If anything, the advice is the opposite. Focus on yourself in silver 2+, because your team is probably playing a decent comp, and you need to pull your weight. In bronze 3, your team will just throw for no reason. Recognize it's not your fault, and go into the next one un-tilted.
@@jordanclark683that's the same advice though. In bronze you CANNOT rely on your team, so you can ONLY focus on yourself.... what are you gonna do mald all game about your shit team that is definitely not listening because it's bronze? At that rank it's luck of the draw if it's winnable or not, just don't be the dead weight or better be a monster without needing backup. Whereas in higher ranks you definitely cannot carry so focus on providing exactly what the team needs and timing your pushes with them etc, as a team. Here a tank NEEDS heals, support backline NEEDS protection, stagger = instaloss, lower rank is more forgiving. Yeah 2 tanks usually beats 1 in bronze but you are not gonna convince anyone to switch, the dood is gonna play Spiderman.. and if you're shit as solo tank what's the point. Even if you have the right comp you will probably lose, on the natural ability or lack of it and brainlessness of your team -you will just lose braincells and frustrate yourself by thinking of team comp and telling people to not rush in by themselves again n all that i swear to you cuz it just doesn't work. As a good Thor I carried even without a healer, because I focused on playing well, (impossible above silver), if I played support cuz we have none or waited for Spiderman to get here and to do some damage we would've lost because I don't main support and because spiderbro is 3 and 12. Teamplay is hopeless in bronze just be good, if your team happens to have more good players you win. It's not up to you, the only thing that is is your own performance And then like he says in the ultra high ranks above diamond it again becomes about you being the best ironman or whatever you are playing because everyone is really good (and already cooperates effectively)
NGL, I fall from plat 2 to Gold 2 from randoms that have no situational awareness or taking DPS that has a specific strategy and just get countered . I wish that having SVP saves you from point loss since that person is really trying to.
people need to stop crying, EVERYTHING is just a skill issue, so blaming teammates is the stupidest thing ever. everyone has bad teammates sometimes, YOU are the only consistently present factor in your games, if you are good, you will win more than you lose. the game has a hidden mmr system I'm pretty sure (most competetive games do) which keeps assessing the rank you DESERVE based on performance and winrate. the system will keep pushing you towards that goal by giving you more elo on wins, and losing less on losses. consistency, lots of games, experience are the things you need the most. if you are SVP your mmr doesn't get as much worse as it would from a simple loss.
@@nimrodszocs2795 that's just not true lol. If teams were picking good comps from the get-go, I'd maybe agree. But so many people will have teammates that a. go 3 dps immediatly, b. don't ever switch, and c. never do their job. It's pretty obvious a lot of people in this game are ranking up from stuff like aim than actually knowing what they're doing. Especially since it's usually DPS players bringing you down.
If you say that your team is the reason for anything having to do with you not winning matches over time, you will never improve. You are the only common denominator between all of your matches so whatever rank you are, is exactly where you should be at after I’d say ~150 matches in comp.
@@SaintsFan09-z3s if you have most damage and still lose constantly then you are the problem. I can bet you are mostly just hitting the tanks constantly and not trying to kill supports at all, nor their DPS. Most damage means nothing in reality. Go on flanks, grab high ground and try poke at their healers to make them focus you/each other and not on their tanks. Also simply sitting around and shooting things means nothing at all, all you are doing is letting their supports get free ult charge. You need to have both the damage and picks.
Dang this channel grew hella quick i remember back in overwatch videos getting 6-10k views good shit mills aleays giving yood advice and helping the community ❤
Biggest and I mean BIGGEST tip I give so many people I teach is that you’re not obligated to swap roles (which I understand), then your obligation is to swap to the hero in the role you’re playing. This always happens in the lower ELO where everyone wants to play the character they like until they realize the character they like doesn’t work so they go and argue to their allies. Remembers it’s a team game, what YOU bring to the table can make or break the game as much as your allies and enemies
Now that I started doing ranked, I've been pretty chill and just chatting with people, even if they rage. I kindly explain that I'm working on my accuracy and my positioning while also being available to heal them. I'm not gonna respond to where's my heals if the party just dashing out into the open to fight tanks while the enemy team picks them off. Just got out a match where this Iron Fist kept yelling "where's my heals" and "push" and every time we looked the dude was so far away from us into enemy territory. I tell them to go watch some Coach Mills videos
Another tip: PLEASE DONT TEST OUT CHARACTERS IN RANKED. Go into casuals (i recommend the conquest ltm) and test out new characters and then get a feel for each map
I have a question for the ranked skin do you need to stay gold to the end of the season or do you just need to reach gold and its ok if you rank back down?
@@coach_millsas soon as I remove Iron Fist, Psylocke, and Magik from my rectum and my team learns to stop trickling in. I'm sure you'll make a video covering that, right? (Or is it just "git gud" and platitudes?)
I'd like to see some examples of solo tanking on various maps. Feeling like I have to play Magneto or Dr Strange if no one else tanks feels bad. Like the hit and run playstyle some tanks like cpt america or hulk do.
Strange can tank solo. As long as you have a dedicated healer. With a healer, his problem is not the surviving part. He just can't protect dived healers.
Tip: If you're below diamond, its not your healers fault. You and your entire team are still shit at the game and have NO situational awareness. You didnt get heals because you have NO idea what the healers are currently dealing with, you probably dont have any idea what their cooldowns are at and its more than likely you made a mistake and were way overextended. Unless you're staring directly in front of the healer and shooting them to get their attention, its not their fault. If you're THAT reliant on being constantly healed, youre taking damage you dont need to be taking and playing stupidly. If you are a healer and you're getting backlined, its not the DPS fault. Push up so you can't get backlined. Ping if you're being flanked. You cant heal if you're dead so if you're getting picked off, STOP healing and lure the enemy over to your tanks, reposition yourself, or outplay them. Dont waste your cooldowns for no reason, save your holy shit buttons and dont die and then whine that spiderman didnt save you. SHOOT THE PENI PARKER TURRETS FOR CHRIST SAKE PLEASE, IF YOURE MELEE STOP WALKING INTO THE MINES. If you're DPS, stop racking up trash damage. Your 30k dmg number is the most worthless stat in the game if all you did was farm numbers off of Hulk and never actually down anyone. Look for people out of position, attack healers as much as possible and play the point when its critical. Whoever you "main" is irrelevant. You have five teammates, nobody cares that you want to "main" a character. You dont need to learn the entire roster, but playing only one or two characters will leave you stuck at gold forever. Your skill with Venom is completely pointless if the rest of your team isn't set up for a dive comp. Not knowing what to do if someone else picked your character is not a good situation to be in. Learn a few in every role, you dont need to be a master, but you need to flex when you can, and dont underestimate a few of the team up abilities. Don't make useless call outs on mic, its hard for others to concentrate on what theyre doing if youre saying dumb shit like "There's an ironman here, guys there is an ironman here!". Nobody knows where you are or what you're talking about. If something can be called out with a Ping, do that. You can call out when to push or when to group, or call out positional things, but its useless to say things that the your teammates cant capitalize on. Just be quiet until you understand the game at a very high level.
As a Diamond 1/2 Tank/Support player the biggest thing I can tell players at the lower ranks is to BE FLEXIBLE AND BE POSITIVE. Being able to swallow your pride and switch comps can totally change the trajectory of games. Also being a positive force in the voice comms affects your whole team so much more than you realize. If you have over 150 games and have plateaued you are the common denominator and need to adjust your play. Also go into the basement of the practice range and practice your aim and combos if you play characters with precision attacks and chain abilities. You can make the bots move really fast at the terminal and change them to the hero character models instead of the test dummy. Luna is imo the best one to use since she has a tiny headshot hit box!
Hitted GM yesterday. My tip to get GM is knowing your mains very well, and how they should play against the enemy compostion. Not only that, but if can do only one thing, do that thing the best you can. Once u hit diamond, your teams become more reliable. Do what ur supposed to do, and help your teammates and they need. Not only that, but play with your team to kill a specific target. Focus on someone with your team (sups or a good DPS); once that target is dead, rush.
Really weird because I had a friend having the same issues lately, all while none of us were having the problem. Note that his computer is the best between all my buddies
@@astroavation ive had the entire lobby basically have 99% packet loss bc the server went to shit and it was unplayable for like 5 minutes straight, we could all text but could barely play
Oh boi can’t wait to play healer and get mauled by iron fist, Spider-Man, and black panther while no one helps and complains they’re not getting healing. Game is so much fun when the team is scattered around the map expecting to be healed. 10/10
I bounce between diamond 1 and GM 3. Best tip i have for lower diamond players is track big sustain ults like cloak or mantis etc. Learning to track these is the biggest way to not get all your ults shut down. Also its sometimes good to trade ult for ult. For example thors ult isnt the best so sometimes i all in a luna and pop ult im not looking to kill her instead i want to force her to panic and press her ult. If she does now she burnt her ult and my teamates can freely use their better ults to win a fight like a psylock ult or winter soldier
That bronze grind was brutal. Just tough it out. If you're good, you can change the course of the battle and win more than you lose. Just think of it like volume attempts. You just gotta win more than you lose. I'm bouncing comfortably between gold and diamond and I think I'm right where I'm supposed to be.
Its going to be a lot harder to climb low elo now. Because lobby is filled with smurfs. Grandmasters playing on low ranks and waiting for season to end. And there's no option currently to report smurf accounts. And this game's matchmaking is absolutely horrendous.
Tip for people trying to get to Gold/Plat. One trick till gold 3. In bronze and silver don’t ever flex role or swap to support. It’s better to play a character/role you have nailed down consistently instead of playing a character you aren’t confident about. In Gold you could start switching to fill the need.
Best tip. Sometimes your team just sucks. Unless the skill gap is huge your not gonna be able to carry your team in any class, even if you got the most damage or heals in the game if your team can't capitalize or follow behind it doesn't matter just finish strong and try again
One of the best tips is to just queue with friends your skill level, stop solo queue and you will climb faster and have more fun while doing it. Just because its possible doesnt mean you have to solo until grandmaster. Good video, keep it up.
Doesnt matter what I do, I cant get out of Bronze. The opposing team are always stacked with players that are way better than my team. And I mean a lot better that I cant see how they can be Bronze players, to be honest. I still like playing though so whatever.
@coach_mills using bronze players to learn a new character is like a samurai testing out a sword on a peasant. I get it from a strategic point, perfectly sound. But. It is incredibly unsporting. Like you may not know thor but knowing thor is 20% of the battle max. The other 80% is everything. Spacing, when to engage, when to withdraw, how far to push or withdraw. Why did scarlet witch disappear? That game sense is almost fully transferable between characters, so making a new account to learn a character, is kinda unsportsmanlike. Moreover, I would argue that it is a suboptimal way to learn because you can get away with really bad habits on those characters at lower levels so now you need to unlearn them on your way up the ladder. All this to avoid losing a little ranking that you would probably get back faster than the time it took to unlearn the bad behaviours you picked up in bronze, which feels like a bad reason to dunk on the noobs. Again, it is mostly sound advice, but I must stand in direct opposition to it because it isn't very sporting, and even ignoring that, the main benefit is no loss of rank, with minimal time saved.
That Eternity/OAA point of respect earned vs respect granted is so prescient. I used to be a menace in console CoD lobbies a decade ago when Scumpy and Crimsix were dominating the pro scene, and I would occasionally get to scrim them and other pro teams just so they could learn new strats from the pub stompers like us. I could never get away with disrespecting either of these players, but neither could they do the same with me; so I'd just focus on meme-ing on their teammates when I couldn't outright stop the better players. We even stole a few games from them here and there with our antics, and when I saw Scumpy pulling off my strats in pro games later on; the casters didn't get it, but I was proud that I was able to teach my boy something about respect earned.
This video is pure gold, also the point in platinum ranks about 1 dps who has good range staying with the healers to prevent dives from the enemy team is so good. I feel like the perfect team would be 1 tank, 1 dps helping the tank, 1 dps preventing flanks and playing angles, and dps who has a good range in the backline with the 2 healers. 1 support mainly focusing on keeping the tank alive while the other support focuses on the rest of the team and putting out some damage themselves to relieve pressure.
Focusing on your own gameplay is VERY important. If you have good teammates, consider yourself lucky. If you have bad teammates, the only thing you can do is play to the best of your own ability.
Any tips on like... literally stratigizing as a support? Like what do I do when I want to play Mantis or Dagger in a quickmatch but no one else bothers to go 2nd heal and I feel like I'm "surrounded by idiots" as Loki would say? I mean things like... How can I nudge my team into the right direction (and the enemy team in the wrong one)? How do I know who I should prioritize to heal when things are just chaotic? When do I decide to "let someone go" if he/she just dies after trying the same thing over and over again or even kinda utilize them as a gambit? What can I do when my whole team lets itself get chased around the whole map? Or how to humble or annoy an overly aggressive enemy / "play" their aggression against them?
Play mantis save ur sleep 2 protect urself. Focus on tank and whoever the best dps seems to be. The dmg boost is super good. Stay well placed 2 avoid dives.
My tip is to use voip. I’ve found if I use voip many other people will start using voip as well and then you start communication. Don’t chat them up or anything, but call things you see out. If you are playing cloak call out before you ult and ask your team to push with you, call out when you shroud an enemy and tell your team to focus them. When you see a psylocke top left ping and say that. But use VoIP.
This video has honestly made me feel rather solid about my journey i just hit plat 2 today and was wondering what i would need to do to get too diamond and so far everything has been rather intuitive and i’ve been doing such, if i wasn’t going solo i have full faith that i could climb faster but its solo bolo here.
The video I'd love to see is guides on Team Comps to aim for when solo queuing - when should we play solo tank, which DPS should I play with different tanks, or who matches well with each other (not just the hero team-up abilities)
As someone who just made it out of play, use your mic. Make shot calls and always watch your back line, the amount of times a BP or magik has been useless because we just keep turning when they try something helped so much
Another good tip for Bronze is to check your opponents team to see if they can figure out how to counter stuff. For example, sometimes you can just spam Punisher Turret and they will have no ability to shut you down. Kinda like Bastion in OW.
Gold is extremely frustrating and it feels like their Hela and Hawkeye see everything in slow motion, headshottign everyone but when i have one on my team they will struggle to even walk through a door.
So far as a Thor main I’ve been able to carry so far, no matter the team comp, to Gold. If you’re somehow stuck in bronze, learn Thor, he is really easy to learn, has good survivability, and can output insane damage with awakening, killing supports and most dps characters in a few hits
About staggering: actually people are mostly listening if you're in voice chat. Just try to say "don't go alone guys, group up please". If I see someone is going alone I'm trying adress him in voice chat like "yo Mantis, go back please, don't go without us". Today we started loses our match bc of it, but then I asked all to group up, and we actually waited near the spawn to go us group and we did come back

I dont think you put the link in the description for the placement video
Yeah really hoping we get placements next season.
@@Ziggyvu it took me 5 wins to get from bronze 3 to silver 3, then another 5 to get to gold 3

Hard when your next and 5 games after is full of dps who can’t counter
This is only really relevant at the start of the season & it’s not relevant for long. Like someone else said, the hardcore gamers are going to blow past lower ranks in the first couple days/weeks.
Just a general tip for any player, to help your supports: Use the ping system to ask for heals. Screaming into the mic “heal me heal me!” won’t work; I have no idea who tf you are! Don’t tilt, use the tools the game gives you.
True, especially if they’re a spider man or iron man. I
I play support and fully agree but when I'm playing something else it's really infuriating if healers just don't react, today I had like 50 health left with moon knight and was behind cover next to my healers and sent out at least 5 "Heal me" requests but they didn't react eventually i just gave up and went to the nearest health pack
@LiaVanRevolutionif there is a health pack nearby and the supports are doing something else, maybe it would had been better for u to get the health pack in the first place? But if the supports were near you then fair enough
supports are supposed to do more than just heal bot-ing
@@melthework4511Spiderman calling for healing a mile away from everyone else, not even staying in sight line at least. 😂
XD
Though it does sound like that time your supports might’ve been a bit dense.
Bronze is bananas man. I know I'm a new player and probably suck hard but the people I keep getting teamed with must have just rolled out of the womb lol. I'll get through it though!
real i just had someone go 3/17 LOL
It doesnt get better. Of course generally ppl get better but there are still dummies in gold and plat lol just keep grinding
The entire rest of my team had less than 2000 damage combined. 2 of them never left the HQ
Hard fill and play your role. It'll help
Nothing is 100%
@@tannercollins6696 Yes it is. I mean you either listen to your ego and try 1v1 the opponent and have a 50% outcome, or just position or ask your team to 6v1 gang his ahh and you have 100%.

Here’s the biggest tip you can ever learn, have at least 1-2 characters per role that you can play. Instead of locking in as another dps, be the hero your team needs.
thats what i tell my buddies focus on 2 of each class, but instead theyre just mid at every character xD
Solo-queueing through silver is a f'n nightmare.
My buddy refuses to play healer. He will occasionally play tank and dps. I play support just about every game
Another solid one. Always do at least 3 - 4 warm-up matches. Don’t go in cold.
Hey, DPS player here, i hit one above all yesterday and what i recommend y’all to do to climb (with dps) is to learn AT LEAST 3 DPS and preferably 4, just make it so that no matter what the enemy bans you still have something to play with
the best dps in high ranks objectively speaking are
1. Hawkeye\Hela
2. Psylocke
3. Winter Soldier
if you really want to climb, these characters have insane carry potential. I really recommend knowing hawkeye and hela to punish the enemies if they don’t ban them and once they do, you can play whatever you want (Personally i climbed with magik, to a point that they target banned me and had to leave one of the op dps open) As for your bans, you should really focus on the supports, usually luna and mantis will DESTROY your ultimates so you should ban them if you wanna get any value with your ultimates
Also at higher ranks you start to see a lot of the same players over and over again, try to send a friend request to a good support and team up with them, having a pocket makes your life 10x easier plus it’ll be a lot more fun to climb with someone else
good luck :)

@@ArmedandDangerous918you going to struggle in high ranks it’s hard to climb one trick iron fist.
Bruh its bronze. Even a gold support can carry if they barely try as dps lol
Climbing out of the metal leagues as support does feel easier. At the lower elos you can still def MVP if you learn your hero well
My biggest issue in plat 1 is my team will never do wnything about support being dove on. I always laugh when I am 10 feet behind a tank, get 3 shot by spiderman, then the tank spams, "I need healing"

Of course my healing numbers are going to be low, when the team dies instantly and is never in a position where I can heal them safely.
you know i got that "group up" ping on lock
I just hit diamond and every match is extremely one sided either my team or enemys, always a blowout one way
Bro same. I've hit Diamond twice and the second I get it. I lose 4-5 games in a row. Complete blow outs. Like my team doesn't even try. It's infuriating.
Same here. Feels like 1/10 games are actually close where either team could win, and 9/10 times one team just dominates. It's weird but that's the way it seems to go
Are you solo queuing and do you and your team have voice chat on? Grouping up and surprisingly telling your team what to do leads to success.
@GodWorksOut i have been soloQ since I started. I have no one to play with lol. I'm sure that's most people too. I have voice chat on but I rarely say anything. I ping all the time though. Heals, retreat, defend, point out enemies flanking and so on.
They need to add surrendering. Some matches are lopsided that there’s no point in wasting effort and time and just move on to the next match

"You can climb out of bronze with any composition" if you say so buddy. I'm a healer main, not a miracle worker and all these teams need a miracle
Hawkeye sending 50 million arrows to the tank when the mantis is just on a corner, not moving, healing them is genuinely lobotomy inducing.
You just need a bit of luck. Notice how you get long winstreaks and long lose streaks? One day one of those win streaks will get you out of bronze, eventually
Bronze is chaos, you will get the worst teammates against what feels like a full stack. Use the extra time in bronze to get better at the game
And if you're really stuck in bronze still after numerous weeks you need to get really good with one character to carry.
Tips from a GM:
Gold or below:
If you are gold or below, you would likely benefit greatly from increased mechanical skill.
Platinum:
Once you reach platinum you’ll notice an increased friction in success and it’ll be a lot harder to determine why.
Diamond:
Reaching diamond is realizing that a lot of the guys who are slightly above average but think they are a pro-in-the-making and spend their entire afternoon crying and blaming their team for throwing their precious ELO (He instalocked Hela and got 8k dmg trying to spawn farm) manage to get filtered out and teams consist of people who are more well-rounded and organized.
Most common word I use in chat is "Together", that gets the message across

I found that getting out of the lower ranks bronze/silver/gold is best achieved with a duo. If you and your duo is competent then you will climb extremely fast but even if you have no duo just instalock hela. Ik it sounds bad but in these ranks you can never rely on a teammate so rely on yourself
Worst advice for solo people like you are why 4 dps insta lock in every game....

It's not up to you, the only thing that is is your own performance
And then like he says in the ultra high ranks above diamond it again becomes about you being the best ironman or whatever you are playing because everyone is really good (and already cooperates effectively)
I wish there was more content like this that’s more broad and encompassing instead of specific tips and tricks for characters. Good stuff bro.
NGL, I fall from plat 2 to Gold 2 from randoms that have no situational awareness or taking DPS that has a specific strategy and just get countered . I wish that having SVP saves you from point loss since that person is really trying to.
Sometimes it isn't about being SVP, instead enabling your mid team to the point of a W regardless of who's mvp
Plat is easier than silver, I just got my second account to diamond and again had a harder time in silver than plat AGAIN. This is a skill issue.
people need to stop crying, EVERYTHING is just a skill issue, so blaming teammates is the stupidest thing ever. everyone has bad teammates sometimes, YOU are the only consistently present factor in your games, if you are good, you will win more than you lose. the game has a hidden mmr system I'm pretty sure (most competetive games do) which keeps assessing the rank you DESERVE based on performance and winrate. the system will keep pushing you towards that goal by giving you more elo on wins, and losing less on losses. consistency, lots of games, experience are the things you need the most.
if you are SVP your mmr doesn't get as much worse as it would from a simple loss.
Im sorry but if you were losing that many games take a break. Your mental is half the battle
150 matches did you do anything else in this time ?
Everytime I play dps I lose 😂 I'll finish top damage in the game but it doesn't matter. Tank is the only class that I feel can structure the team
You need to have both the damage and picks.
yeah thing is i go svp everytime with most healing and usually a better kd than the dps
@@lilpain1997wish more people understood this lmao
0:15 I’d love to see the Hero Proficiency Levels and maybe the different pictures we get for each character at every level 🙂
You get one for lord
I liked how you pointed out the "threats and answers" that's a really important segment, you've earned MY SUB
Another tip: PLEASE DONT TEST OUT CHARACTERS IN RANKED. Go into casuals (i recommend the conquest ltm) and test out new characters and then get a feel for each map
congrats on your recent growth! Been following you since your valorant guides. thank you for continuing to make these videos, coach!
I have a question for the ranked skin do you need to stay gold to the end of the season or do you just need to reach gold and its ok if you rank back down?
@@dominicwilliams214 Its okay to rank down.
never ok, lock IN lol
It’s based off your season peak
@@coach_millsas soon as I remove Iron Fist, Psylocke, and Magik from my rectum and my team learns to stop trickling in.
I'm sure you'll make a video covering that, right? (Or is it just "git gud" and platitudes?)
@bluefire7412 it's peak and not finish?
as a league player these are things i was thinking about but hearing someone else say it gave me more confidence
I'd like to see some examples of solo tanking on various maps. Feeling like I have to play Magneto or Dr Strange if no one else tanks feels bad. Like the hit and run playstyle some tanks like cpt america or hulk do.
Just got to plat 3 pretty much using only Dr Strange. He’s pretty good once you learn him, but I feel you; I want to play other heroes so bad lol.
@smoke9047 yeah he's good, I feel solid on him, but I'd like to mix it up haha.
I’ve made it to plat 3 spending a lot of matches solo tanking with Thor
Strange can tank solo. As long as you have a dedicated healer. With a healer, his problem is not the surviving part. He just can't protect dived healers.
the amount of absolute ass players im getting teamed up with in bronze is incredible, im never gonna get out.....
How are people NOT subscribing? These are helpful videos.
I think this is a well designed character and I really like it
Tip: If you're below diamond, its not your healers fault.
What a fantastic video, so dense with information and quickly delivered. Subbed!
3:55 I know everything I wanted, goodbye...
I want a series of in-depth guides about characters, starting with the most popular ones. That's definitely will earn you a lot of subscribers!

Congrats brother!
If you’re losing in a match request to surrender and people’s egos will kick in and they will lock in.

Brother add time stamps and it’ll boost you in the algorithm. Thx for the video good stuff
Found you threw a short, I liked your lil animation and your voice. Appreciate the content and I’ll be tuned in
Oh boi can’t wait to play healer and get mauled by iron fist, Spider-Man, and black panther while no one helps and complains they’re not getting healing. Game is so much fun when the team is scattered around the map expecting to be healed. 10/10
I climbed to GM2 so far on support. You can out damage, out maneuver, and stun ANY dive character. You should NEVER die.
Skill issue
Play loki, hes the main support to go against dive heroes.
Give jeff a try - he is VERY difficult to kill
@@Omfguwu ML7 hit rank 1 playing mostly jeff :)
love that stop staggering was in silver, having started playing last week, excessive staggering stopped at around gm3 lol

@@coach_mills Not appearing on my phone for some reason, could just be me though. Apologies
no. their no shortcut on the video on mobile

I STILL think that bans should be unlocked at gold instead of diamond.
naw
Nah
Heck no
No
Not in gold but i would like it for plat thats the rank where imo people start to become good enough to understanding enough of the game
Yes this game is completely dead on arrival.
@@L4Disillusion Dead on arrival? LMAO go back to Overwatch dog
I’m gm3 atm. Even in lower ranks use ur mic even if ur just calling that someone is low it boosts teamwork tremendously rather than typing
The high Elo tips will help you in low rank lobbies as well. This video is really good for all experience and skill levels.
I feel like Diamond Players are worse than Bronze-Gold players
Fax💀
True😭
Tip for people trying to get to Gold/Plat. One trick till gold 3. In bronze and silver don’t ever flex role or swap to support. It’s better to play a character/role you have nailed down consistently instead of playing a character you aren’t confident about. In Gold you could start switching to fill the need.
I’ve one tricked Wolverine to plat so far
I haven’t even played comp I know I’d be wood tier
wood xD
I solod to GM2 but I’ve been stuck for a bit. Win , lose, win, win, lose, lose. Playing with teammates or even 1 friend can significantly help
Yes game sense is important, its almost just like overwatch.
Best tip. Sometimes your team just sucks. Unless the skill gap is huge your not gonna be able to carry your team in any class, even if you got the most damage or heals in the game if your team can't capitalize or follow behind it doesn't matter just finish strong and try again
my advise, dont solo q
Nah it’s fine. Just work on yourself and how you (not your team) could have won the lost games.
Solo queued all the way to Diamond 2 on Thor and probably will hit GM soon, so solo queuing is not bad
@@sdotlopez cool story bro
Sounds like a skill issue.
@fleethawk9307 sure thing nerd
One of the best tips is to just queue with friends your skill level, stop solo queue and you will climb faster and have more fun while doing it. Just because its possible doesnt mean you have to solo until grandmaster. Good video, keep it up.
if there's a big skill gap with your friends, that's not going to be possible.
@@Oyashio202 "just queue with friends YOUR skill level"
Doesnt matter what I do, I cant get out of Bronze. The opposing team are always stacked with players that are way better than my team. And I mean a lot better that I cant see how they can be Bronze players, to be honest. I still like playing though so whatever.
Message me I can help you
For Thor main : Don't be scare to ult healer, you wanna make them proc it too and escape, your ult otherwise wont kill much.
logitech g502. put all the specials on the mouse. who cares.
the amount of planning and strategics this game have is more than soldiers need in wars
Create another account and learn a new character! No. You wanted that mmr. You stay in that mmr. Stop messing up my bronze lobbies.
?
Yeah…isn’t smurfing technically cheating anyway?!?
who are you yelling at bro? lol. imagine speaking like this to someone irl. haha
I DO THATS WHY I HAVE NO FRIENDS
ILL BE YOUR FRIEND BRO
Imagine being a Loser and hater for no reason bro 😂
Nice information like always. Been watching since halo days
halo like combat evolved!?
It takes 2 seconds to quickly heal a dps since health is lower so they can continue fighting back while the tank has an abundance of health
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks!
You were playing a MEAN Iron Man in the last clips, I'm going to learn him, thanks for all the tips, amazing video
Currently on my way to diamond, this just popped in my feed, very cool, thanks
About staggering: actually people are mostly listening if you're in voice chat. Just try to say "don't go alone guys, group up please". If I see someone is going alone I'm trying adress him in voice chat like "yo Mantis, go back please, don't go without us".
Today we started loses our match bc of it, but then I asked all to group up, and we actually waited near the spawn to go us group and we did come back
When you see iron man, spider man, iron fist and luna, just know the objective is completely up to you.
