    I'll be 33 and my ex will be 51 this year. We were together for 8 years. He was extremely stuck in his ways, still immature, and awful with money yet he expected me to be the only person who needed to change. He wore me down to the point where I just about lost my mind. The gaslighting and mind games were exhausting. Finally freed myself and I doubt I'll date that much older ever again.

But we have fun together, I don't have to deal with no nonsense because he knows exactly what he wants & treats me like a queen... I believe it can work but you (as the older one) have to allow the younger person to grow & the younger one has to understand that the older person won't have time for games(if they are mature of course lol). It's the most peaceful I've had in all my years of dating...🙏🏾
    OH FYI: What amazes me is that... Most persons are gonna say "Oh y'all can't have kids.... It's good to have a legacy, it's not the same if you Adopt etc..." Lol ummm... Not everyone wants kids, its not a requirement and there's nothing detrimental if someone doesn't have kids... Some people are afraid to admit it. I'm reluctant too no lie... But at the end of the day. It's a choice.

    Envy is making sense! A woman's reference is always going to go back to their father ( or lack there of). Same with a guy, all his female references are going to going to relate back to his mother as our mother and father are the first references we get as a child. Our parents are the foundation...this is why its extremely important to be that example for their children, they are always watching...

    I was with a man that was 20 years older than me (I was in my 20s) at the time. Thing is, I didn’t know he was that much older than me. He didn’t look like it! So when we were talking about our respective birthdays I was completely caught off guard! But truth be told it immediately changed my way of dealing with him. I am a long-term relationship kinda girl but knowing he was 20 years older than me immediately put me in a “let’s just have fun and date” mind-frame. Ironically he broke up with me months later because he felt like he was robbing me of the possibility of potentially getting married one day and having kids (he no longer desired that). It ended nice and we were cordial every time we saw each other. But yeah, I liked the relationship. There were no complaints on either end. Thanks for coming to my TED talk lol.

    • @actionjackson8689
      @actionjackson8689 ปีที่แล้ว

      I need your expertise. I am 44, but people think I'm 25-30. Well this girl at the gym has been showing me a lot of attention. In fact, I'm the only guy she looks at and so I took the move and spoke to her. I found out she is just 1 year removed from college. Personally, do you think this is OK that I pursue her? I do have 3 kids from a just dissolved marriage and, aside from the age, I think that could also deter her away also. I just want to see where it goes. I'm not opposed to having more children or not. I have only been with one woman, so I am loyal to a fault. That's why my marriage lasted 10 year longer than it should have. She's a software engineer, but has the look of a model and she could have any man she wants and that almost intimidates me as well. I see all the other guys staring at her at the gym, but as of rn, I'm the only one she talks to. What are your thoughts?

    • @iamjenantoinette
      @iamjenantoinette ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@actionjackson8689 I am definitely not an expert, but your “loyalty” is coming on very strong in this inquiry. I’m assuming this girl is of legal age since you said that she graduated from college so if she’s interested in you, then just go out on a date! The age gap shouldn’t be too much of an issue if y’all don’t make it an issue. It’s not like you’re going to marry the girl the day you take her out. But personally, how long have you been out of your marriage? And what are you looking for? If you want to be in a relationship, then I admire that. But I really hope you’re at a stage in your life or you’re just looking to date and I encourage you to have (safe) fun right now as long as you’ve healed from your previous relationship. But overall, I don’t have a problem with it because people need to do what makes them happy as long as they’re not intentionally hurting anyone else in the process.

    • @actionjackson8689
      @actionjackson8689 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jennifer Antoinette: Natural Hair & Vlogs It's recent, but our marriage died a long time ago and we were just roommates for the last 4-5 years. And yes, I'm not just looking for one-and-dones. I'm not that type of guy. I just remember seeing this girl, last year, for the first time amd thinking "I would never have a chance with this girl". I assumed she was round 26-28. As time passed she slowly started to give me more attention. I think she is impressed by my workout routine, tbh. She workouts hard and pretty much keeps to herself. She doesn't look around and doesn't even talk to any other girls. So it was very evident when whe started to actually watch me. I was intimidated when she told me she was a Software Engineer because I know that just off that, she makes at least a six figure income, while I only rake in half that. But also, finding that out, it makes sense why this beautiful woman is single. She is kind of on the nerdy side, kind of. But so am I. She must have become super fit from working out in college and in the last year. And she seems like an introvert. But she really has made an effort to talk to me in the last few days. As far as hurt goes, on the flip side, my ex is definitely still hurt tho, idk why tho, this hasn't worked for the last 10 years. So she will definitely have a problem with it cause she has said, in the past, "You're gonna find some 18-25 year old girl".

    • @iamjenantoinette
      @iamjenantoinette ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@actionjackson8689 okay, well thank you for clarifying what type of guy you are. From your description she seems pretty interested in you. Please don’t be intimidated by what you think she makes or how much younger she is than you. She showed interest first. You have nothing to lose other than taking her out for coffee, or find a food truck park, or even a museum date to just get an opportunity to talk to her. (And for her to get to know you a bit.) If she’s a woman that values a good man over a rich man, she won’t judge you for what’s in your bank account. And if she does, well….then you have the option to stop it from being romantic. I wish you the best in this! Just remember to have fun with getting to know her.

    • @actionjackson8689
      @actionjackson8689 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@iamjenantoinetteThanks for all your advice. I do have one last question tho. Now as far as kids, that's what I fear may push her away the most. I have had friends that have said be honest and see what happens, or, others that have said just blow her mind sexually and she will let anything slide. I don't want to start on a lie but I also want to get close to her to show her who I am before she lets other deciding factors make her decision. Being young she might not want that other baggage in her life at this time or am I wrong or are most women capable accepting of children? Did your older person have children? If so, how did it affect things?

    My ex was 12 years younger. It worked..... But it was difficult, especially when it came to references. But I believe that the biggest problem is that I was always not intentionally talking down to her but I was because I had more experience than she did. & Overtime I think that I hurt the relationship. It wasn't equal.... Best way I can explain it. But when we split, she got with a dude 2 years old than me. So..... IDK
    I still love her, but had to break it off.... An we were together for 10 years. But it can be done.... But it's not easy. & You need to be patient/understanding!

      @@thadonjuan2339 no it was likely me, for all of the good things and good qualities I may have I don't think that I was as good as boyfriend as I could have been. Or maybe it just ran its course..... I had a 11 year relationship before this one. That one ended simply due to me being incarcerated and she wasn't faithful so that was different. But I've learned a lot and I don't regret being with somebody younger than me although it certainly was hard! I think the the dynamic of being older can be good and can be bad! If you're constantly teaching somebody things and sharing experience with them it can come across as a parental figure or a teacher whatever but anything other than a significant other. Now I know that's not entirely true for everyone and it's not even entirely true for my situation but I do believe it played a significant role in our relationships demise! I know that I was verbally abusive. Example, when she didn't understand things that I just thought everybody knew. I wasn't very nice I was often sarcastic. Only considering this after the fact, taking into consideration that she was 12 years younger than me. But for what it was... it was wonderful & I really don't regret it. As much as it hurts I would do it all over again!
      Sorry, it's just a deep issue for me....so of course I had to ramble on about it. It worked for the better part of ten years, an it created great memories.

      @Shania Lacole I asked this of someone else, but I am in dire need of answers, so here it goes: I am 44, but people think I'm 25-30.

Of course, there are always exceptions, but a 21 year old who's in/just out of college, able to (legally) go to bars for the first time, etc is at a different pace than someone who's likely been in the workforce for a while, ready to buy a house, have a family, etc

      @@leivaandre I mean, no relationship needs my "approval," but it's probably rare for it to last that long. I'm not saying it's impossible, but generally speaking, from the late 20s to 60 or so, your daily routine is basically going to work, doing whatever hobbies you have, running errands, and, if you have them, taking care of kids. For the most part (again, this is a generalization), people in their 20s will be hitting a happy hour a few nights a week and going to the club on the weekend. By 30, two things happen: 1) they don't have energy to turn up like that anymore and 2) all the homies they used to party with get married and have families, so there's no squad to rock with except on special occasions a few times a year (e.g. someone's birthday).
      Under 30 and 30+ are just different phases. Again, there will be the exceptions (e.g. the 40-year-old who still wants to be in the club multiple nights a week or the 21-year-old who's a total homebody), but for the most part, the 40-year-old will think the 21-year-old is doing too much and the 21-year-old will think the 40-year-old is dry.

    I’m 28 and i been with someone in their 50’s. And when i was 17 i was dating a 34 year old up until i was 24 years old.
    Okay I’m back to the topic. My 17 to 34 year old experience i say was quite fun and i actually learned a lot about myself an the world. Because the person i was with had an old soul and wasn’t so into the fast pace crap we have now. Actually having conversations, going outside, cooking & enjoying the finer things about life. Even though the relationship ended at the worst time in my life. My Mom had passed away and i was going through so much pain amongst the abuse that followed in the relationship. I can honestly say it wasn’t bad bad like Diddy but it had some disheartening things. Young people my fellow young people , do not get into a relationship with someone older because mommy or daddy wasn’t there in your life. Older people tend to have this ability to gaslight, deflect & love bomb. My relationship was bittersweet but to my surprise this year in 2022 i reconnected with the person and after all these years… i got the apology and closure that i actually needed to get in order for me to truly see it wasn’t me and the person took accountability for the demise of the relationship. So I guess they had some growing to do themselves. 🖤❤️

Basically uprooting your kids life because of the opinions of society shows you don’t know where your priorities lay as a mother and a wife. And even if you realize that now, you gotta ask yourself what other problematic traits do you hold. Last thing you want is to end up with someone, bringing them into your kids life and not being able to make it work with the man you chose. Or worst ending up in a toxic relationship, and your child experiencing and growing up around both of those…….

    4. Not prioritizing your health
    5. Wasting your precious time
