A very neat project! I saw someone weave belts into a chair seat years ago. The chair had either a cane or rush seat, and we know, with time, they get a big hole in it them and then they’re no good. So, the person used belts to replace the old seat. I’ve always said I was going to find an old chair and do that, because I thought it was so cool and so is your project. 😊👍🏻

I loved it, but would want it to be more cost-effective. The thrift stores around my house are charging $3.99 plus for one belt. I don't know if all the materials I'd have to get would be better than buying something.
Hey, you're talking to a vegetarian here. I'm not vegan because yes, I will touch leather. However, these are leather belts that already exists. Why not reuse them into something useful? I wouldn't promote going to buy brand new leather, which perpetuates animal harm. But belts that are already manufactured and discarded, there's nothing wrong with using them.
Thrift Diving here is the thing about using leather, if you buy it and using it and posting about it you're incurring this cruel industry, its basically a cycle and you have the option to use fake leather instead of a dead animal skin.
