I have seen the opposite done as well where they tried to compare the Camaro Exorcist special edition 1000hp to base Hellcat.
That wouldn't make sense. Again, love my Challengers, and I don't consider the Cadillac a muscle car, but a luxury car with performance ability.
Challenger, in my own opinion, is a true muscle car in today's times.
Besides, widebody gives mire wind resistance. I would choose the regular bidy red eye or super stock.
Great races. I'm a Hellcat guy myself but it seemed the big difference between the two was the transmission..with the admittedly excellent 10 speed auto option I think the Caddy would be just as quick as the Hellcat..both are great cars. Long live the V8's!
The regular V series CT5 comes with with a 10 auto, twin turbo instead of supercharged and a much cheaper price im suprised it doesnt get as much attention

When it comes to American cars they never get the coverage they deserve. Why do you keep seeing videos of the CT5 V BLACKWING drag racing even though it was clearly made for the track? Its clearly faster than the very best car BMW has ever made (M5 CS) and yet no direct comparisons anywhere to be found. Its like they refuse to give the Cadillac the props deserved and that is why I was done with car reviewers a long time ago.

The 6th gen Camaro chassis is better than European 3 series rivals and people dont even mention it other than Motortrend. What is even funnier is the C8 Stingray is FAR beyond ANY 458 variant ever produced as a quality product and the 458s continue to sell for hilarious prices. If you put a 458 next to a C8 Stingray and ask what is the better performance car, 90% of people will pick the Ferrari. How do you sell sports cars if your rival has better performance but cost half the price or less?
Another awesome race; mainly because it was against two of possibly last modern V8’s! Both cars shine in their own way. I have the Challenger Hellcat, but I would love to have the Blackwing in my garage also! Thanks again!

What I normally do when I am roll racing with my Hellcat is I put the gear on manual and get it down to the proper one for the race, once the race starts I immediately put it back in auto and go.

I'm not so sure about that. Interiors in a Honda are better than Mercedes c-class or a 3 series, or the a-4 as far as fit and finish, and rattling annoyances.
$5k in mods and the caddi is much faster.

@@jtc1964x Yes, i did watch the whole video, and i am knowledgable enough to know how to extrapolate the data presented. If you go to 6:20 into this video, and watch to 7:04, you will see the roll race @ 50mph=traction is no longer the issue. You will see how close these cars really are, and the cadillac wins. I dont own any of these 2 cars raced in this video, or have a favorite, i like both cars. Its not a surprise that the car with drag tires, won the drag race, and the 1st roll race @ 32mph roll ( cadillac was probably still spinning @ that lower speed )? Also, sam kept driving better, and better as he got more runs. We all know, if the cadillac had the 10speed automatic it would even be quicker. Now imagine if the cadillac had the drag tires, and the hellcat had the stock street tires, how do you think that would turn out? Then if the cadillac had drag tires, and the 10speed automatic, vs hellcat with the stock street tires! No bashing, or hate here, i try to be as unbiased as possible. Hope you have a great day!?
Truth be told that caddy is pretty fast and looks good. But that guy driving the challenger doesn’t know how to drive that car let’s be real…any hellcat owner would know.

After traction controlled meaning no spin drags don’t make the car go faster.hellcat was pulling at 50 plus mph .if you want to blame slower speed it’s the manual tranny of the caddy . At 0:59 you can see the Challenger is on a drag tire. Put it on the stock setup and race again. I bet, even with the manual, the Cadillac would win.

i have a 2022 Blackwing 10 speed auto and i raced a challenger hellcat with an automatic and i walked away from it on 2 different stop lights pretty much from the dig. the dude was seriously surprised. we spoke after the first race and at the second light i said, "i thought thise were supposed to be fast?? he admitted he gave it all it had and just couldnt beat me. we had another go and same results.

Just the fact that you got a supercharged v8 sedan gives it the win off top. Knowing how to actually drive and going out to race it up against boring autos is a win. That CT5 V is one of the most beautiful cars out there and it looks to be well worth the money.

I can concur that a manual is fun to drive, but that 10spd in the V-Blackwing is like stepping into a different animal. I have the 8spd in my CTS-V3, and it moves out pretty well for a Bolton car. Manuals to have fun and Autos to be fast in today's ICEs.

I like the black wing it’s a nice nasty sedan and truthfully the charger is in it’s class more so than the challenger due to that aspect and it’s heavier. Not 50lbs more like 4586lbs vs 4429lbs as of the 2020 models. Mines older being a 16 challenger and it weighs 4448lbs so minor changes have happened over the years in weight surprisingly. Danes seems to be middle ground of challengers 18 or 17 or 19 year. I still love the challenger it still looks like a muscle car the black wing looks like Statham in the transporter should be driving it or some official. Great for a sedan probably one of the best but still a sedan.

I’m surprised the hellcat dude doesn’t wear a seatbelt. At those speeds anything can happen and it’s over. I know there just going straight on wide roads but a blowout, half shaft, bearing or wheel falls off your gunna have a bad time. Everyone please buckle up. I lost a friend to no seat belt and wouldn’t want anyone to go through that.

The problem with the challenger is that you see one everywhere, you can have the badass hellcat and someone with a 4-cylinder rental Challenger will park right next to you and both will look almost the same

Everyone is so worried about what is faster than what, they are all fast and fun! Can’t go wrong with any of these big v8 power houses. If you drive either of these you will be faster than most cars you encounter on the road.
First off, try actually finding that caddy, second off, automatics are for people who don't know how to drive, third, it's going to cost you at least twice as much to get the caddy. Both very fast and nice cars.

A minute in and already you see the Hellcat with the drag radial, 17 inch wheel combo on the back and street tires on the Cadillac. The cadillac's only chance was wheel spin from the Hellcat and that issue was solved 50 seconds into the video when the radials are clearly showing on the back.....

Since the late 80s very few stick shift cars with similar power have been faster than the automatic. Just more engaging.
You should of use the automatic version of the Cadillac black wing.because on manual stepping on the clutch and shifting gears is slowing you down.while the automatic the transmission is shifting much faster than having to step on the clutch. But both of these cars are awesome I will take either all.

More like C63. If I ever find a C63 around I'll run it and record, Blackwing definitely keeps up. C43 is probably better running against the regular V
In a race, you have to close the windows. There is a ton of drag coming in.

My wife daily’s a CTS-V Wagon, which is a riot but I’m really digging these new Blackwings.
As good as one might get at slamming gears, modern auto transmissions are just faster. Doesn't matter though, I'd still get the manual Cady. Beautiful car.

1. The hellcat had a beefier tire on the rear which im guessing was a drag radial.
2. Caddy was manual when it should’ve been automatic.
