Thank you so much you saved me … I didn’t know what I was going to do I came back out to my truck and it was stuck and I couldn’t turn the ignition at all but I fixed myself thanks to you video… 😊
Wow Thanks for video my key will start the car but wont turn off and it won't stay in the ignition. Ive been pulling a fuse to cut the engine off every time i drive. I purchased new swith and gonna have it installed tmrw. But if i would have seen this video. I would of tried to self fix. Great video!
I may have accidentally pulled that piece underneath the circuit board and it broke the copper wire. Is it fixable or do I need to get a whole new module programmed to my vin?
I think it needs to be programmed to the cars vin, I’m in the same dilemma I ordered a brand new one for $600. I broke the copper wire when pulling the whole assembly out and it won’t start
After doing this there is constant power from the battery when the key is in the off position and the key pulled all the way out. Did this happen when you put your ignition back in?
I did this over the weekend I ripped the copper wire without even trying.. I pigtailed the wire together and it works, do you think that will be a problem till I get the new module in ?
Did you have to do any programming with the replacement ignition switch assembly? Mine doesn't always (40% of the time) release the key to the removal position after shutting it off. I have to jiggle my shifter to hit the park switch and listen for the release click.
Yes it needs to be programmed to the PCM. You might be having a different issue though, might want to check your shifter linkage and see if something is loose or broken, this unit is not cheap. This issue in the video was causing the key to not turn at all when inserted into the module.

I hope you see this. Does the trim cover over the switch just pop off with a trim tool?
Similar solution but for a 2020?
What kinda Screwdriver is that?
Aye bro I just bought a whole new module from the dealer do I need to program the key to it or can I do this

That did not happen when I pulled that piece out. It was only a temporary fix so my customer could get to work until the new ignition came in.
