There’s an arena in the same place as the raven chests you can use to upgrade your abilities without worrying about dying and losing progress

@@25sumpter only for getting to bronze silver and gold tier bit not for the enemies killed yeah thats true but you get to it early enough you can use the xp you gain to add damge or elemental or whatever to the attack afterwards and ittl always be better for the rest of the game
@@25sumpter you get the xp from skill tier and challenges got like 5k xp in 45 min maxing skills
one tip about auto-pickup ... when you are playing on the hardest difficulty you dont actually want this on, especially for the health/rage orbs, you want to tactically pick these up as you need them not automatically. they have a stun window when you pick them up which is useful
i kill high level bosses with me getting NO DAMAGE! playing in GMGOW

@@sidehoez3966 It won't pick it up if youre at full health. But i also disagree with that tip, having played GOW 2018, I am used to picking them up manually already.

I think the point is that modern Sony games are so shallow gameplay wise that you might as well cut out the monotonous pressing of triangle or circle every 2 seconds, you could take it a step further and play a real game as well
Also something I learnt while playing is if I am low on health after a fight or before a fight maybe a mini boss fight or something. As long as a travel station is close by you can just engage it then quick cancel before selecting a destination to travel to and your health will be full regerated ❤
Great video!! Another cool tip for leveling up your skills to gold tier is to simply go to Nilheim and use the training sword/thing. You have infinite health so you can spam attacks, and can literally level all of your skills quickly without worrying. 👍
Finally got the game and downloaded it today. I'm so glad Odin's Ravens are back, and I'm glad they serve a purpose this time around.
One thing that is very much a big help is the navigation assist. I have it on in my play through and it shows where a Raven makes noise and its easy to know where it is.

Nice video. A few things to add or modify.
You don’t want auto pick up on “Give me God of War” for health and rage. Keep an eye on them and stay close. They’re a good stun in a pinch. Especially in Alfheim
Still explore. While yes you’ll hit certain walls. You can still net hacksilver, mods, and exp.
Best place to do skill labors is area with Odin’s Ravens. Turn on drauger then spam skill to where you need it.
One thing I’ve noticed in these videos coming out is that the aiming reticle is larger and easier to see. That’s definitely a small, but much needed improvement.
on your last tip re opening up the skills extra abilities, best to wait until you open up Niflheim and spam those enemies there. you don't get XP but it's also a great place to practise the new abilities
For the ability lvl up it's much easier to use the arena near the Raven tree. You have infinite health and can't die.
Switch auto loot so it only picks up hacksilver and materials. In a lot of battles it's better to be strategic with picking up health and rage orbs. Quality of life improvement is switch your dodge button with your interact button. Have the "O" button as your evad is way more natural feeling and same with having "X" as interact.
It's weird I just come off replaying Bloodborne and elden ring so I tried this because I thought it just made sense but for whatever reason I prefer X for this 🤷 I think due to the slightly higher pace it's closer to anolgue maybe?
X and O swap I did in the first minute of playing the game. Feels so natural.
I Strongly recommend against the orb auto pick up option. If your worried about the option as an aid you, you much better off strategically picking them up during fights. They are tied into special armor and ability procs for you and companions, as well as stun enemies... Remap button, or incorporate them into your combat awareness.

If you're playing on Give me God of War mode, play with autopick up OFF. Your health and rage pick ups CC not only the enemies, but the bosses. You should be kiting toward the pick up, unleash combos and just before the boss lands an attack on you, stun them with a pick up and unleash another combo. This is why auto-pick is set to OFF by default; it's a weapon.
You'll need all the help you can get. I don't know if it's because I have not played in a while, but Ragnarok's GMGoW mode feels slightly harder than GMGoW and GMGoW+ from the 2018 game.
I don't think you are wrong, first play trough I went with give me no mercy difficulty and I would compare it to GMGoW of the 2018 game. Now on the GMGoW and its def a lot harder then previous game.
Can't wait to play! Right before I started I broke down and decided to play the 1st 2018 GoW and boy am I glad I listened to all the people who said I really need to play it first. So amazing and even more excited for Ragnarok now!!

I'm pretty sure picking up healing stone after a fight before the regeneration starts; gives you the same amount of health as waiting and then the healing stone, but instantly.

nifleim has a training area that gives you no xp or rewards but you can farm skill labors
I don't think you need to wait for your health to regenerate after a fight before picking up green health stones.
Once you pick one up, the game fills your health immediately to the point it would go if you waited first. That's what I noticed. No need to wait.

Geez watching gameplay videos isn’t helping me right now lol we just had a really bad storm hit my hometown and we lost power. It’s been out since 6:45 am yesterday morning and we aren’t holding our breath for it to be restored today, watching these videos sitting in my truck to kill time and stay cool. It’s not triple digits here in north east Texas yet but it’s really humid and it’s about 90 in my house so I’m chillin in the truck watching GOW Ragnarok videos until my powers back on and I can play again! Yesterday was my 40th birthday and it f’in sucked with no power lol I would’ve spent the day playing my 2nd play through but instead I sat in my truck watching rdr2 videos lmao 🤣

There is a training ground which is the perfect place to level up your individual abilities by usage it's the same place the crows are
For farming skills just wait till you get to niflheim you can train with endless enemies and you can never die

Pro tip : Just select the “Give me story” difficulty from the start
I started on normal and struggled for the first 10 hours of the game because even trash mobs were giving me game overs
Rather than insult my own intelligence by lowering the difficulty I quit the game for seven months
When I picked the game back up I sucked up my pride switched the difficulty down and enjoyed and finished the rest of the game successfully
It was crazy because even on the easiest difficulty some bosses actually still killed me & I had to retry a couple times
Thank you so much for this. Question: what would you suggest when it comes to upgrading items? I see I can upgrade the original gear (which always looks way better than the armor stuff imo) the upgrades do nothing until level 7+ then they offer a smattering of perks that affect different stats and not just 1. It's not a huge bump but it's evened out. Would you prefer a well rounded character, or a tank with a shitty bazooka, or a bazooka that can only take 1 hit?

Honestly I recommend to have Auto Pickup set to [off] because your combos or set ups will get interrupted by an unexpected drop and now if you wanna save a health pickup for later in the fight, you'll now have to avoid that part of the arena if you don't wanna pick it up by accident.
Never happened once to me. It doesn’t stop you mid attack or anything.
i only use the auto pick up for economy, not full or essentials. Cause sometimes when i had to block or dodge an incoming attack, and theres a health/rage stone near me the game uses the stone at unnecessary times. Unlike economy, only pick up resources when OUT of combat
Also, change tap buttons to hold... Makes life easy

There was a nornir chest i almost gave up on. One bell was 3-4 seconds, The other two bells were like 1 or 2 seconds each.
I am glad they added those options but it's so much more rewarding when you nail it without help.

Hey another solid way to level up your skill tree is going to the sparring arena. You don't get xp, but you can use the skills over and over and not die
You do gain the xp for completing the tiers for bronze silver and gold but nothing else. Still I managed to upgrade spartan rage to 3 before I got to alfhiem
Only reason why I don't turn on auto pickup is bc I don't want to waste health stones when not needed. A good pick me up during a crucial moment honestly saves my life.

You can speed up the skill labor process in the training area too!
Just go to nilpheim to level up your skills it still counts to unlock the stun and damage upgrades and you don't lose health

I played through thinking I'd get NG+ for 2nd run...... I really wished I ran through the game til I got everything so I only had to go through each world twice instead of back and forth on each unlock. I am glad there isn't 1,000 ravens to find... and a million diff things just to upgrade. The only down side is not able to skip some things since this game was more story for the heart than action with another cliff hanger. But I did appreciate the ability to have diff companions and playing as other npc
You can also level up your skills while training I found it, no danger of being killed so you can just spam them
Anyone else’s compass bugging out? Mine keeps moving around rapidly when I try to head to it.

I leveled all my skills to god in the arena area. You can’t die and your cool does recharge super fast
Love how they still made the boss battles hard, but not so hard it makes me wanna break my PS5.

I do light and heavy attacks on Square and Triangle, similar config I used for Dark Souls, I hate an attack action on a trigger button, it doesn't feel responsive because of the trigger travel.
Survival gear set fully lvled, gives the most stats... enough stats that the boost from legendary gear doesnt matter...legendary gear has some boost to healing , base damage, or elemental damage boost but has low stat value. So boosting 100 runic is like having 125 runic.. i have 300 runic ,total with survival gear. Almost 300 in each stat , except def and thats 400. So you dont really have to chase the best gear, it was given to you at the begining. This set was compared with 10 fully lvled "best" armor sets...sol's ,giptumaors ,mani's, dragon, steinbjorn ,raven tears , guiding light, fate breakers and fallen stars. To me the boost or actions from legendary gear seem to small to compete with just having more of the required stat. Survival gear gives the most. My total build,300 cld, luck , rnc, str , 170 luck, 400 def.. its a pretty solid build.

Regarding Flame whiplash I found out after finishing game that we can charge it quicker by mashing triangle button when I was trying to figure out why my blades don't charge instantly after purchasing that instant charge skill....😅😅
Unless those labor tasks are instant kills I probably won’t be able to some these enemies giving me trouble on no mercy I’m moving around like sonic

make all the relics before game plus cuz mine glitched and couldnt get the collecter achievment because of it so i had to go to the save before game plus and finish that game completly to get the collector ahievment

I just want to know best method overall, I am going to play the game twice once for story experience than second for trophy and max build. Curious if it’s best to just play through story get what I can and finish story. Than unlock most things and than do a new game plus?

Takes a bit to get use to, but I have my evade on (x), wep ability on (circle), heavy atk on (triangle), light atk on (r1), and interact on (r2). This way the evade is not too far from the r stick, helps with camera management and lock on while minimal movement to evade. And I can pick up heath with the trigger. And the wep ability on circle is a lot easier than reaching all the way to triangle

Beginner Tips indeed... but some of these are still very nice, and for some people who would otherwise miss these, this might be an insightful video.
Also, didn't like the fact that I was kind of clickbaited here by the thumbnail containing the preoder bonus materials, which were not included in this video.

That last tip isn't a good one. You can easily max out your skills in the Training Arena in Niflheim, so that's a much better way of doing it. And I would hate to automatically pick up everything, because then I have less control over when I actually want to pick stuff up. Also, I found the time given for puzzles to already be very generous in this game compared to the last, so I can't imagine being so slow that you would need to alter the settings to have a lot of extra time. Same with mini boss checkpoints, that just feels like copping out to me. You can only get better at the game by practicing and learning, so dying in fights at first is normal. Don't take the easy way out.
You said Spam a creature over and over again... How do you spam?
I was wondering what the holes were that b l e w air so if I continue in the game's main story eventually I'll have the ability to use the holes that blow air?

Wrong about the heath orbs. If you dont wait for the health regen they will combine the the health you gain from both the stone and hp regen
