I really wish they wouldve worked harder on this. Was kinda hoping this would be like bandai's lorcana. They could easily incorporate all their other IPs being used for tcgs into this one.
Curious to see how it does, really unsure if the sets I want like Toriko get released over here though which always irks me with TCGs like WS however understandable it is. Being in the UK also sucks for trying to get it.
I'm still playing Battle Spirits Saga even though it's a "dead game." I personally don't care if a game is super popular. As long as I have people to play with either in person or online, I'll enjoy it as long as it lasts. If Union Arena is any more popular than BSS, that'll be fine with me. If the games I play die off, then I just move onto something else.
Will rise or fall based on allocation. It's a little more niche than OPtcg which is hitting well. The game won't survive Bandais usual FUCKING release mess.
If they can fix their quality control issues, I can see the collectors / graders taking an interest. The IPs are super popular, but every card I’ve bought - imported to the UK AND bought in-person in Japan - have been poor quality. Whitening all over the reverse side and dents across the cards. I bought the recent New Card Selection premium demon slayer folder and every single card had specs or indents across the front.
I've played this so much, the game is really smooth once you learn it, the meta is really good, and the is are amazing. I've invested more into this game than I have before
Went to my LGS and saw the hunter c hunter cards, im a big fan so im going to buy it regardless lol if it gets bigger Thad be awesome if it doesn’t I’ll still be happy with my cards atleast
I think the idea to play frachises against each other is great, especially with the licences bandai is able to buy. Also bandai has really good card quality. On the other hand the artwork is too simple from what i see. i am hoping on the gameplay. If the US release goes well I can see bandai expanding to europe as soon as the hype drops off to reignite the flame. If enough people pay attention to it people may start anticipating sets that are already out in japan. if they play their cards well it will be well played.
I wanted to try it out but the scalpers made it too expensive to get into. I have better things to do with my money. I can’t afford to spend money like that when WW3 is about to happen.
Here in the US one piece is doing great with LGS running weekly tournaments and booster boxes sold out. Digimon still has a pulse in the weekly tournaments and the singles are still very liquid. If the union Arena is easy to pick up and play and fun to play the IPs are popular and the signatures give it a good chance. But if the game isn’t fun and it’s only for the collectors then idk It all depends on what the market sets as the value for the cards. The more value the cards the more ppl will come to collect. Like Pokemon most ppl don’t play the game. It’s all about the collectors and the emotions behind if the popular cards are in a good illustration or not. Pokemon is extremely overprinted. However One piece looks like it’s here to stay
The game is really bad, I played for close to 3 months here in Asia and quitted. The cards design for SR and below are simply lazy and uninspiring too.
Idk, I can't shake the thought that it's going to do great. I think the IPs it has can make up for the fact that it's a bad game no one will play. That I'd Pokémon model after all lol.
I think the Pokémon model is mad hard to achieve though, it’s only really Pokémon that can get away with it. But yeh honestly who knows. UA JP started of weak and now good sets seem to sell out. OP came out did great then that doubled down later and go even bigger again!

bandai didnt make lorcana
should've made iit like Lorcana instead of makng it like Weiss
I personally disagree. If you like an IP, only having to buy cards once a year is very consumer friendly

it’s picking back up in JP and Asia. :)
That's good to know
Another great video Mike...I think you summed it up by saying that the game wasnt great which can make the difference between a TCG making it or not.
Thanks! Obviously anything can happen! Will be interesting to see and I am very excited for it to come out in English!

Exactly that’s what it’s all about! 😁
It's good to be realistic... but still hyped!!!! I just hope this makes bushi up their game
Game should be simple like Marvel snap and have archetype synergies
Thanks Mike ❤

one word bandai ^^
Not a single long life ip there i don't think this one will be good and bandai...... Well bandai
What about hunter x hunter?

Just seems like a lazy cash grab. Screen grabs and lack luster mechanics compared to other newer and established TCGs.

Weiss is way better
But has worse anime options for decks.
