Thanks man! Yeh I do think they are really nice, weiss texture will always be goated but when you only get 1 or 2 SRs per box and nothing else its a bit meh compared to a minimum rarity UA box opening
I do think Weiss Schwarz should spruce up their cards, the backgrounds are usually so bland/plain, especially rarities below SP. Also, I get the dead box problem, but at the same time having astronomically low rates that put predatory gachas to shame is not the way to solve the issue. I would find it hard as a collector new or old to justify spending that much money (in an already expensive hobby) to pursue your favorite characters/VA or getting into the game itself when Weiss exists.
Not as bad as WS as the 3 star is beyond case hits. Obviously if you hit that and hit the AP and 2 star then you got dead boxes but it’s a lot less likely than with WS
The game looks fun but if it's expensive like One Piece or Digimon when it fully comes out, and if I have to always buy the next set to have a chance to win. Would be a draw back for me. At least Weiss Schwarz its possible to win with an old set or TD.
It will be $80 or less per booster box, unless you want a signed foil chase they should be affordable and widely available. Digimon and OP is limited to only a couple distributors. UA has double that.
I don't know man. I like WS pullrates better. Taking for instance WS Azur Lane. There're 4 Signatures in a case, means 1 in 4-5 boxes will have a hit. For Union Arena there's 1 hit per case and most parallels in boxes are worthless. I don't like those odds. I had more fun opening Azur Lane than any Union Arena boxes.
Yeh it’s definitely way better when they have 4-5 vs the old 2 hits per case but personally if I open a box where I don’t get a “case” hit for either TCGs I much prefer UA for the SRs vs Weiss Schwarz RRs. A whole case though then yeh I can see why a set with 4-5 hits would go down a lot better than UA but unfortunately it’s really not that often we get 4 SPs per case 😞 that would be a game changer for sure
There are set pull rates for some sets like in a case of 18 boxes might have 2 hits inside with signatures on them. If someone starts opening a case and hits both of them early on, then the rest of the sealed boxes are “dead” as they have no chance at getting anything above usual box hits
UA is probably a let better for the gambling yolo for streamers and such. Probably the thing that will keep it afloat. Personally Id rather gnaw my own arm off though then engage with most of the franchises in UA.
I get that Bandai is a much larger company than Bushiroad, but the titles Bushiroad has collected lately have been so lukewarm and boring. Too much super niche stuff, too much idol stuff. They definitely cater toward the more cringe anime fans who dismiss UA as for "normies". But with some of the lewd card arts they come out with, it alienates a huge market. You'll never find Weiss in Target when there's cards in sets of near nudes girls who are meant to be in high school. When you step out of the anime community bubble, it's actually pretty embarrassing.
Yeh that's a really fair point. I've touched on it a bit in the past in terms of UA being more "normie" but normie basically just means popular mainstream stuff which for a growing card game is exactly what you would want. Even the name itself "weiss schwarz" I feel like is detrimental to the growth of the tcg. Anyone that doesn't know it will look at you weird when you say it because rightly so you just said german words and not english... for a card game that is based on japanese IPs... With that said UA have gotten some lewd and female heavy IPs first starting with Nikke and then the recent 100 girlfriends so I think it will be interesting to see how things go with UA english. But personally I'd take the massive shonen IPs over sets like that any day.
@@PokeMike same. I get lewd sets are surefire hits, and I don't mind it here and there like with what UA is doing. Two lewd sets in its entire roster? That's not bad imo. Weiss started out with more "normie" IPs, but gradually turned into what we see today where it's all mindless pandering centered around high school girls. I'm hoping UA doesn't do the same, and I'm tentatively optimistic with what we've seen on the JP side. The name for Weiss is weird for sure. I feel awkward anytime I'm explaining the game to someone. The name and the refusal to get IPs for something other than idols is really going to hurt Weiss in the long run.
As a player, I don't know if i can support a Bandai CCG: the same company that has ALREADY reset the Dragon Ball Super game. The way that Bandai launches new games that cannibalize their player base tends to be off putting i.e. Dragon Ball Super ---} Digimon ---} One Piece. Thats not to mention what they did to their old games Naruto & Power Rangers CCG
I hate the fact that all boxes that dont have the 3 sps are dead. I wish they mixed it up like Pokemon
Overall UA looks better in terms of design, artwork, texture, and foil. While WS, only SPs or higher rarity cards seem to be of good quality.
Grey vid my brother, honestly just opened my first union arena box and honestly they just feel more quality 🤷♂️

Weiss is more fun to pull But union arena and those serialized action point cards are really digging into the fomo 😅
Union Arena has dead boxes too though 😳

You would still get an 1 star per box, maybe 2 if our hits are different from JP. And those will help people with still wanting boxes
boxes shouldn't be about value

tf is a "Dead Box?"

Haha yeh each to their own 😂
Yeah Wiess is for JP, not a good ENG game, uverse or whatever that other game is called too. UA will be the best, nicest chase cards too.

Yeh from the history I COMPLETELY get it 🙏
