This arrangement headed up by Kevin was a celebration of his father's Nigerian birth, and his mother's Grenadian - so African and the Caribbean elements.
Thank You. I definitely agree? Kirstie does get over looked. One of the songs that really shows Kirstie's amazing talent is a live PBS version of Seasons Of Love.
For Kirstie, they released a new song this year Please Santa Please where she takes the lead. The behind the scenes is worth watching also. O Come All Ye Faithful is definitely my favorite by PTX, but their releases this year are killing it.
Kevin arranged this in tribute to his Nigerian parent. I think it's really fun and inspired! If you'd like another fun, original, PTX Christmas song, try Kid on Christmas w/Meghan Trainor, or this year's Please, Santa, Please written by Kirstie!!
In my opinion, this song is about as gospel as Pentatonix has ever been. They took a traditional Christmas carol and turned it into an Afro-Carribbean dance party! Kevin is the primary arranger on this one, honouring the natural rhythms of his heritage. Such a spectacular arragement that focuses on the joy and celebration as the faithful are invited to join together. What could be more gospel than that? Thanks for sharing this special PTX oldie with us. 🥰
Adding a lively, celebratory African twist on what's normally a solemn hymn is probably the cleverest arrangement I've ever heard. I don't think there's a better version of this song out there, and I know I can't ever listen to another one going forward. I've heard versions with multiple pianos, orchestras utilizing a prominent brass section to liven it up a bit, but it took an acapella group with no musical instruments to arrange the best version ever, and this was done AFTER arrangements that made them famous, like Hallelujah, Mary Did You Know, Carol of the Bells, Little Drummer Boy, etc. Talk about setting the bar.... This is the version. There's just no comparison anywhere else.
Excellent reaction, guys. Pentatonix owns Christmas music. It's impossible to pick a bad one. If you want more Kirstie, check out Please Santa Please. Its new this year. It was written by Kirstie and Kevin and its all Kirstie. My personal favorite is Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies. They won their 2nd Grammy for that one. An instrumental with no lyrics sung by a group with no instruments!!! And won a Grammy!!!. Only Pentatonix.
Another great Christmas number from them is from very early in their career, a mash-up of Winter Wonderland and Don't Worry Be Happy. That was among the first videos of theirs that I saw, and it also introduced me to the amazing Tori Kelly who collaborated with them.
They just released a live version of O Holy Night that is amazing! Hark! The Herald Angels Sing is wonderful too. Carol of The Bells is an oldie but goodie. They have an original that was recently released and Kirstie has the lead, Please Santa Please is hard to sit still too.
Hey guys, find PTX version of "Say Something." Kirstin has the lead in this song, and she really kills it. We also see and hear Kevin play the cello and sing.
Kirstie truly owns Say Something. It is the only PTX song I'm aware of where Mitch does not get a single lead line -- no chance of people mixing up their voices. A special role for Avi too. I would also recommend Amazing Grace as her section is so powerful. 🙂
This one of my favourite Christmas songs/carols from my younger days and to hear Pentatonix's version of it, it gives me the goosebumps and I'm up and dancing. I'm seeing Pentatonix Christmas tour next month and I simply cannot wait. They all have amazing voices and Kirstie's is my favourite, she certainly can hit a lot of high notes with her beautiful voice. Love them. Two thumbs up for me. :)
My Christmas suggestion from PTX IS “Thank you” , an original, written by Scott. Got to hear them in their Christmas tour last month. They are as amazing live as they are recorded.
I bet you never thought you would bop to Oh Come All Ye Faithful. This song was joyous as it should be. The Choir was a cherry on top. Trust your fans! I bet you cringed a little when this song was suggested , but now you see the genius inside the madness. ❤ _Some Songs with Kirstie in the spotlight: Say Something, Please Santa Please, Attention, Can You Feel the Tonight and Oh Holy Night.
😊❤ So glad you watched this!! I really loved your reactions!! 😅 So glad that you didn't read any spoilers in the comments! Great genuine reactions to the arrangement! 😲😍 This is definitely one of my favorite Christmas songs of their's ... so far!! LOL 😅 I will leave the Christmas recommendations for those who are more seasoned in this part of their catalog! ☺️ Luv you guys!! 😊❤❤ Oh and I have to say, leave it to PENTATONIX to take a 400 yr old song, always sung slow and reverently and turn it upside down and make you dance in your chair!! LOL 😅😊❤❤
Love it! Thanks for reacting to it! Please watch their new video of O Holy Night, even if you don’t get a reaction done. It’s stunning!! Merry Christmas!!
Your reactions are always so enjoyable. It would be so special if you could react to "Recording of Evergreen." Hearing and seeing how the band works together is incredible.
I get strong Lion King vibes from this rendition. I’ve heard this many times and even have all of their Christmas CD’s. Yes I still collect CDs!! There’s a great band called Straight No Chaser who do a gorgeous version of Mary Did You Know in a church. You would REALLY like the video of this one. Thanks guys and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both as well. ❤
Several years ago I came across a cool version of Let It Snow arranged and sung by Ricochet. I had to call the radio station to find out the artist, as soon as I heard it.
Please react to Pentatonix singing more Christmas songs: Little Drummer Boy Dance of The SugarPlum Ferries Thank You (Original song written by Scott) 🎄🎄🎄🎄
With Christmas fastly approaching,, Firstly i'd like to say Merry Christmas to you both,, Secondly,, As thanks to you both,, I offer my gift of this MUST HEAR classic suggestion,, Johnny Mercer & Margaret Whiting "Baby,, It's Cold Outside",, Which gives us a taste of a young couples intimate & playful banter..Enjoy 🎄🎅🎁❤️
For a Christmas song and an original, I would highly suggest Please Santa Please. Kirsty and Kevin wrote it and it is amazing. A must add to your Christmas list as well.
React to O, Holy Night which came out 5 days ago to hear Kirstin's amazing belt at the end. Everyone was amazing.Pentatonix upgraded their own song . Best version ever. After that check out Kissed From a Rose the dynamite Seal cover and Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is here. Beautiful and ethereal
I know I'm kinda late on this and listening to Christmas songs in June...heck I'm gonna recommend anyway. Amazing Grace and Christmas in our heart, check them out.
Good reactions good music knocking on heavens door tribute to Freddy Mercury Guns n Roses thanks or Civil War, Yesterday, Don't Cry, Estranged Good vibes always 💚💛❤️💯💯💯
Odd. I see it where it usually is -- on thecleft of tne row under their channel name. Followed by -Share, Remix, etc. Much harder to see if you watch it full screen because then it's one of those disappearing toolbars that can be hard to hit precisely. 🙂
Will you all stop saying that Kirstie gets overlooked. She gets the same shine as everyone else in the group. You all say that because she is the only female in the group. Kirstie has songs that she lead and songs that she do more backup. Same as Scott and Mitch. So please stop with this notion that she gets overlooked. Maybe look at more PTX videos and you will see that she doesn't
My sense of the comment he made about Kirstie being overlooked is that many reactors don't seem to comment on her skills and contributions the way they do about the others. I do agree that it is all five of them that make their work so special no matter who is taking a lead. 🙂
This arrangement headed up by Kevin was a celebration of his father's Nigerian birth, and his mother's Grenadian - so African and the Caribbean elements.
I knew I felt some Caribbean influence in that chorus😁
Thank You. I definitely agree? Kirstie does get over looked. One of the songs that really shows Kirstie's amazing talent is a live PBS version of Seasons Of Love.
Phil, thanks for bringing up that point about Kirstie. I totally agree. She is irreplacable.
Their "Mary did you know " is fantastic and gives me chills
For Kirstie, they released a new song this year Please Santa Please where she takes the lead. The behind the scenes is worth watching also. O Come All Ye Faithful is definitely my favorite by PTX, but their releases this year are killing it.
This is actually very spiritual. Loving Jesus and celebrating his birth is a thing of joy.
I'm almost positive a more joyful noise has never been heard.
They made the song a celebration, very a church song, up beat, you feal happy after hear it
Yep, definitely one of my all time faves. It never gets old . ❤
You should do the ones that came out this year ( Pure Imagination/ Christmas time is Here, Oh Holy Night and Kiss From A Rose , Please Santa Please)
Kevin arranged this in tribute to his Nigerian parent. I think it's really fun and inspired! If you'd like another fun, original, PTX Christmas song, try Kid on Christmas w/Meghan Trainor, or this year's Please, Santa, Please written by Kirstie!!
SEASONS OF LOVE !!!!
Their mash up of Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is Here is wonderful also!
I used to sing this in choir, but never like this. It is probably my favorite PTX Christmas song.
In my opinion, this song is about as gospel as Pentatonix has ever been. They took a traditional Christmas carol and turned it into an Afro-Carribbean dance party! Their version of "Little Drummer Boy" is great. Kind of the standard version with afterburners. Unforgettable.
Ptx o holy night. 😊
Great reaction loved it.
I agree with you Kirstie sometimes does get over looked.
She's got a strong gorgeous voice.
Please react to "Little Drummer Boy". Very pleasing, beautiful and unique arraignment.
Little Drummer Boy was the first Pentatonix song I heard and made me a fan
Consider in the Psalms that we are told to "make a joyful noise unto the Lord"... I think they succeeded in that goal.
Excellent reaction, guys. Pentatonix owns Christmas music. It's impossible to pick a bad one. If you want more Kirstie, check out Please Santa Please. Its new this year. I recommend O Holy Night by ptx for you which was just released recently. Hope you love it
That version always makes me feel happy. Peace, Love!!
IMO, This epitomizes the saying.."Make a joyful noise unto the Lord" Peace and blessings to you both. Happy Holidays.
MARY DID YOU KNOW & LITTLE DRUMMER BOY
They did the Little Drummer Boy,It is a great version!🎅
You need to cover "Kiss From a Rose" and "God Bless Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Please Santa Please"
this is the most joyful rendition I have ever heard!!
I never cared much for this one because it was so somber. THIS is the way it was meant to be sung - with unbridled joy!
This has become my fave Christmas tune
Another great Christmas number from them is from very early in their career, a mash-up of Winter Wonderland and Don't Worry Be Happy. That was among the first videos of theirs that I saw, and it also introduced me to the amazing Tori Kelly who collaborated with them.

I love "Kid on Christmas" . Another upbeat song.
Try First Noel, Silent Night
Hey guys, find PTX version of "Say Something." Kirstin has the lead in this song, and she really kills it. We also see and hear Kevin play the cello and sing.
Kirstie truly owns Say Something. It is the only PTX song I'm aware of where Mitch does not get a single lead line -- no chance of people mixing up their voices. A special role for Avi too.
I would also recommend Amazing Grace as her section is so powerful. 🙂
This is top 3 of all time for them!
They just released pure imagination/Christmas time is here LIVE vevo video this morning!!!
Also Kiss from a rose, live vevo video, O Holy Night official video and please Santa please, official video.
Like you they never dissapoint. I was loving it and then they brought in the choir and the classic rendition and took it to another level. Goosebumps
This one of my favourite Christmas songs/carols from my younger days and to hear Pentatonix's version of it, it gives me the goosebumps and I'm up and dancing. She really shines in Amazing Grace too. 🙂
Oh Holy Night is the total opposite of this and is mind-bending!!
😊❤ So glad you watched this!! I really loved your reactions!! 😅 So glad that you didn't read any spoilers in the comments! Great genuine reactions to the arrangement! 😲😍 This is definitely one of my favorite Christmas songs of their's ... so far!! Love it! Thanks for reacting to it! Please watch their new video of O Holy Night, even if you don’t get a reaction done. It’s stunning!! Merry Christmas!!
I've been watching you guys for a while now, and I can say that you are much more relaxed and focused on the music. Good job!
This is my all time favorite version of this song! So very joyous - As it should be! 💖
You’ll never be able to hear this song the traditional way again, there are many Pentatonix Christmas songs and new ones
Your reactions are always so enjoyable. It would be so special if you could react to "Recording of Evergreen." Hearing and seeing how the band works together is incredible.
I cherish this rendition, and video of their arrangement - so very joyful
The word you're looking for is JOYOUS
This is a great hymn that is often sang at Christmas time!

Straight No Chaser's version of 12 Days of Christmas is one of my favorites too!
The very best version of this song in my opinion, is from Voctave.
It's pure talent 💯.
It's definitely worth checking out.
Happy holidays!
Several years ago I came across a cool version of Let It Snow arranged and sung by Ricochet. I had to call the radio station to find out the artist, as soon as I heard it.
Kirstie has the lead in "Say Something" and Kevin Celloboxes in the song.
Please react to Pentatonix singing more Christmas songs:

Carol of The Bells and Drummer Boy are classics they also do. I expect at least one of them in the next week. Hope so.

I love when people bop to PTX when there's no instruments. :-) Very nice reaction!

Hi my dad likes your video's. Please can you do a song from Freddie Mercury "time waits for no one". The new song? The clip with Freddie alone?
You need to hear some Trans Siberian Opchestra. They do very good Christmas song.
Will you all stop saying that Kirstie gets overlooked. She gets the same shine as everyone else in the group. You all say that because she is the only female in the group. Neither one of you recognized that this song was driven by the African Tribal beat.
And?
Listen to Please Santa Please not only is Kirstie the lead but she wrote it and Kevin helped arrange it😮😮😮😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
