I find that if I only have around 4 FX Returns I will make use of "dual FX". I.E. Delay-Reverb, Chorus-Reverb etc. This allows me to get fairly creative and use effects busses to also process instruments and drums.
In my studio I have a reverb called “All Verb” that I run everything through, in different amounts, so it sounds like everything was recorded in the same big room.
I believe they are talking about small consoles in general and happen to be using TF as an example. With the TF you can use the Auxes for fx. I use the 2 regular fx channels for vocals and run guitar effects with different fx through aux.
yeah, like the other comments pointed, i also thought it sounded bad, but they might be hearing something different in that room. I think we are hearing the recorded version, as supposed to the PA
Actually on the TF console you can use the stereo auxes for more EFX busses. So you do have more than two EFX returns.

Please do more videos with TF! Its limited but easy to use for volunteers. And you can use stereo aux as FX too! You can have up to 8 FX machine
How, can you explain ?

I have a soundcraft hybrid board and I use it in conjunction with a daw on a pc to add per track effects using the usb returns
Found this interesting, this is my new course
He guys from London:)
I love your work
Am I crazy or are those FX's actually nearly unusable contrary to the consensus of this video? Mainly the delay. That's horrible to me.
Maybe because it"s coming through you tube and what you're listening to it through
@@markwinslow1423 Listening to it with average headphones. TH-cam probably isn't doing any favors.
I’m guessing they are overdoing it so we can hear the idea of the effect whether listening with headphones, computer speakers or phone.
