Gagamaru is my MVP. I mean, he never had played goalkeeper prior to this match, and for a first-timer, he did brilliantly. He saved 2+ goals, more than Fukaku (which isn't a competition, let be honest, we all could do better than him), and his handstand block was superb. He is definitely one of Blue Lock most notable members.

@@InfernalManThing this is a fair take. I initially only rated him a 9 because he was mainly a supporting role for the other strikers up until the last goal but I suppose that’s what makes him such an important player.

Karasu is SO underrated, he was commanding the defense and putting in some effort to push the ball up on offense. I know he's a defensive midfield so he won't score much and won't seem flashy but he definitely deserves B+ or A-
True. Besides Rin, Karasu is probably the only other player who could do anything in a direct confrontation against Sae
Yeah, Karasu commanding the defense and helping in offense. When they get attack this guy literally is the commander of the whole defense and be the front line, when they attack he can came up and help on offensive play and become a back up for every of them, the 2 goals from Rin and Barou he's also get involved somehow too. This man is literally maintain the balnce of the whole team for both defense and offense.

What's even worse about the U-20 team's performance offensively (excluding Shidou and Sae) is that Aiku, a defender, was the one of the only people actually from the U-20 team who almost scored besides Sendo, their actual forward. (also Rin and Sae should both SOMEHOW be higher just cuz they saved S2 with that animation)
That's the thing, only a handful of players are the main focus. Blue lock might have been better had it been futsal(5v5) instead of footbal.😊

SHIDOU was on another level in that match. Every time he gets the ball, everyone panics. Probably the second most dangerous player on the pitch.
Not to mention u-20 would’ve won if Sae didn’t mess up vs rin and was able to hit shidou on the wing. He literally played perfectly and couldn’t do anything more than what he did 😂
Imo Rin played better than shidou in that match locking literally everybody up having the 2nd best defence shown and the 3rd best offense shown having only shidou and sae beating him. Rin definitely would be the mvp getting the same stats as sae and isagi, 1 goal 1 assist

I think Reo should be at least 8.5, probably 9. He played less than half the game, in a position that wasn't even the one he had trained the most and did the best in defense for Blue Lock. Without him, Shidou would have easily scored at least 2 more times. And he did good also with his passes, putting the ball back in the midfield. He deserves a bit more credit considering how crucial he was imo

I think we need to talk more about Sendou. Someone tell me HOW this man missed that one shot at the beginning. Shidou scored a bicycle kick from like 40 meters away from the goal, but this man received a perfect pass and was right in front of the goal, but couldn’t score.

@@AnimeBoy0811 It's indeed saddening with how Otoya wasn't able to do anything but that's probably because the monk was completely keeping an eye on him the whole match, like bro couldn't do anything since he was being marked specifically by a guy with the same skillset as him. Barou probably managed to get past the guy because he first, his physicality is just ahead of Otoya, Otoya is a speedy guy, not that strong probably. Second thing is that they probably didn't expect Barou to just run towards the ball, hence the monk got left behind, he was also probably watching otoya at that time because his existence is still a threat to them. Remember that time that he almost scored, because the monk took his eyes off him.

i dont know if id say that's fair, evening out the score when they're down is very impressive. But saying it's more clutch then the game winning shot that isagi had to bank based on rin winning his 1v1 with the person he always loses too, and playing around aikus blindspot, AND the luck aspect. Barou is the goat but isagis goal was more impressive and more of a clutch

Yeah Sae was great (9/10 for me), but if you played football by yourself and lose the ball in the last minute in your own half because of a unnecessary dribbling and concede a goal out of it you would never ever get a 10/10. Every coach would criticize you, even if you are the star player. Trust me. Which makes perfect sense, because Saes character is about going for the perfect play and he cant do it (for now at least) for 90 minutes straight. So he is able to evolve and can learn out of it. The only 10/10s in my opinion are Shidou (he didnt mess up once, just got blocked by reo), Isagi (for clutching and being the heart of the game) and Rin (clutched the end and beat his "perfect" brother) . I know its anime and not real football. Just sayin. ;)

I would place Hiori a little bit higher (7/10), he was the starting piece of all Blue Lock attacks and gave the team a fresh restart after Shidou's goals
Barou getting more than Nagi even tho they both had a goal and Nagi had multiple passes 2 of them almost being an assist if isagi could finish to Barou 0 passes 3 attempted steals from own team and doing nothing else is crazy glaze not to mention Nagi blocked Sendou shot by himself Barou just crashed into him after💀
Barou played way less than nagi but still made an insane solo play almost scoring and then he scores a goal by pushing away 2 of the defenders holding him back.

I like how Rin was so angry after the game because Isage scored the winning the goal, but for me Rin was the MVP. He was the only one who stood the ground against Sae in important moments, saved the match, scored a brilliant goal and made the crucial pass at the end of the game

I don't understand how everyone keeps ranking Barou so high in the U20 match ranks. He was very useful... for about 5 minutes. After he scored his goal and U20 immediately figured out his play he not only became useless and did nothing more of value for the rest of the game, but he was actively playing against Blue lock by trying to take the ball from Isagi, the main play maker of the team, which was no longer a viable strategy after U20 figured it out. I'd give him a 5 and i think it's generous, just because of the goal, he did kind of turn the tables at that moment, but was less than useless for the rest of the match. Putting him over Nagi or Bachira is insane. Bachira didn't score goals but his monster play alone (that should have been a goal) was more impressive than anything Barou did in the entire match and both him and Nagi were infinitely more useful than he was.
For real, the only glazing here was Barou guy should be 6 or 7 and that pretty generous, Man literally did nothing wait in the back with scrubs defenders while Isagi/Rin did all the work while having U20 best players on them Aiku/Sae . If you take Isagi out of the equation he wouldn't have that goal to begin with. Giving Reo a 8(should be a 9) is criminal, man was beast on defense with limited minute and never play defense before and just like how everybody riding Gagamaru saying first time GK below comment calling him MotM lol, could say the same thing about Reo.

Idk why but Sae feels like such a plot armor dude, like he wasn’t able to block the easy early goals from blue lock but managed to react to the insanely hard to predict shots later on in the match, which part of that makes any sense lol

He didn’t block Rin’s shot from ep 14, it hit the woodwork, you can hear the metal vibrating, if Aiku didnt touch the ball it wouldve been a goal. Gen Fukaku is FRAUD who only saved ONE SHOT and it was BY A HAIR.
Tbh I was kind of disappointed by Bachira's performance in this match. Since he is my current favorite character in bluelock, it hurts to see him get outshined by characters like Rin and Shidou. Bro doesn't need a corny backstory, he just wants freedom fr.

It's crazy that Otoya was ranked number 4 for the third selection and even keeps his spot on the Blue Lock XI team, but madly under performed than people ranked lower which is too bad. I wonder what would have happened if stayed on the pitch for the full game. He might gone into the flow since he was a attacker like Yuki. Who Knows?
BTW Fukaku didn't stop 2nd Rin's Shot, Aiku deflected it and it hit the bar, he was merely diving for it.

I agree with most of it, but also think that some low ranks from the bluelock boys are more a case of having too many characters and being very difficult to give them all a moment to shine once they get together. I was specially saddened by how little Bachira did .

I think the main problem the U20 goal keeper had was that it was his first time facing such good strikers and everyone in blue lock team is a striker unlike gagamaru who was facing terrible forwards and also the U20 has amazing defense so the goal keeper never worked that much

I started doubting Sendou during the U-20 match, maybe he was outshined by his team's other players like Sae and Shidou but honestly...he was the "ace of the U-20 team " right? I swear I read that somewhere. Judging off of his performance though, he probably doesn't live up to said title

Overall the rating is good as it is. Only thing I would've changed is Shidous rating (to a 9 maybe) cause I don't think that he was better than Isagi or as good as Aikou and Rin. Don't get me wrong he obviously also carried but I think that a big reason why he was able to score 2 goals and being a major offensive threat in the first place was Sae being on the same team as him and the absence of a good striker on his team. Meanwhile everyone on the blue lock team besides Gagamaru and maybe the defense was actively competing for a goal which makes scoring twice that much harder. Plus the U20 had a better defense mainly because of Aiku

Neru being lower than Darai js just wrong, Neru got cooked by Rin, Bachira, and Awakened Yukimiya, Darai also got cooked by Rin and would probably also get cooked by Bachira and potentially an awakened Otoya. Neru should at least be equal to Darai, Neru got cooked because he faced Bachira and awakened Yuki while Darai just faced base Otoya, Neru shouldn't be deducted for having to face stronger opponents than Darai. Also, while both Neru and Darai are direct counters to Yuki and Otoya, Yuki being a 1v1 emperor is still legit prior to this match, Yuki cooked Rin. Neru shutting down a 1v1 emperor in 1v1 defense is more impressive than Darai shutting down Otoya who is more of a linkup player. If Darai is 6 then Neru should be at least 6.5.

honestly i thought that hiori was seriously underrated in this, sure he didn't score goals but i'd say he played a very important role in the game. Like Isagi said Hiori wasn't stealthy like otoya or just demolishing like yukimiya but he was the play weaver with his passes, his job wasn't to score like the other strikers it was to assist all the other forwards to score and for the pretty much the entire time that he was on his job was to link to isagi, rin and also karusu

Honestly I would deduct a point from itoshi Sae because instead of driving the ball forward and trying to score he deliberately dueled Rin and lost the duel, therefore he lost the ball and it went to Isagi who scored the winner. Sae’s mistake caused blue lock to win.

Chigri was literally one shown to be sprinting (in this season, the animation of him running was great) when Shidou scored from sae's freekick pass.

Isagi is a 10/10. His clutch factor and adaptability literally saved Blue lock. Bro intimidated his coach into making a substitution and unleashed Rin. Isagi’s not the flashy player but his impact as the heart & mind is undeniable and makes him my MVP.

I like these most of these ratings 😭. I really think Gagamaru is a 9/10 at least. The shots Gagamaru saved were ABSOLUTE SITTERS, chances that, as the great Sae said, even a monkey could score. To put this into context, Gen didn't face a single shot that was a clear goal during that match😭😭😭.
I'd give Sendou a 5.5/10. For all his silliness, he DID stop a clear goal from Bachira.
