  • Chicks dig it! An absolute blast to drive, leaned WAY over - on purpose!
    At every single show and shopping outing more people are jamming their heads in this car than any Corvette on the lot.
    1957 2CV with an upgrade to the later 602 engine - 29HP versus the OG 9HP.
    Inboard brakes,
    Suicide doors,
    Top in great condition.
    True simplicity (4 fuses)!
    Convertible - t'is the season.
    All lights work!
    Driven for about 6 years, this is an awesome fun blast of a car to drive. It's driven on a regular basis. Reliable for me, never failed to start in 6 years. Still off-roads like it's 1957.

    The Citroën 2cv one of my favourites historical cars! In Spain we remember the Dyane 6 (and similar cars with gun gear like R4 or R6). Actually i have a Seat Marbella, modern but old at the same time.

    Production value in this was far better than your average “Car For Sale” video, that’s for sure.
    Besides, I’m a sucker for the early 2cv look with the ripple bonnet and grille. 😁

    Hi 👋 from New Zealand. I couldn't help but laugh. The body roll as it was going around the corners looked funny. This car is wonderful for a 1957 model. It's in such good condition. Nice in the dark blue with the red interior.

    Citroen in Paris stopped producing these lovely 2 cylinder boxers back in 1990, when EG stop producing the 2 cylinder 2 stroke in line Trabant. Both fascinating cars that illustrate how sound engineering can produce an inexpensive, easy to maintain, basic car-John in Texas

    Man, Citroen needs to hire you for their next add.
    I already own two AK400 (the van version or Truckette as it is called in the US) and probably will never part from them.
    I have a couple of videos on my chanel about them that you can watch, but they're nowhere near as cool as yours. Congrats.

      Oh my, I love the AK400 so much! I watched both your vids on them. Your modifications are like nothing I've seen before. The one with the two ratchets is especially brilliant. If you ever happen to be driving Texas-way, I'd like to buy you a convivial beverage.

      I have a question about the 2CV you are selling, not that I would purchase it, but out of curiosity. I assume you changed both the engine and the gear box, how difficult was it to adapt the upgrade to the wheels. Also, what did you keep from the original 57 2CV?

      @@beju9219 I did not do the change, the previous owner did. Because the top speed seems to be about 50mph, I think it may not have a later gearbox. Do you know what 602 2CVs typically top out at?

      @@honestjakes The latest 602 with a double barrel carburetor and its proper gearbox should be able to reach about 115km/h maybe 120. That's well above 60mph. The diameter of the wheels will also influence that top speed obviously. The truckette has the 602 with a single barrel carb and a lower ratio gear box than the sedan to allow better torque. Its top speed is about 105km/h, needless to say that its shape doesn't help speeding... However...
      Last year while driving through France I got a ticket for reaching 87km/h in a 80 km/h zone... I was so proud of my baby... 😂
      Another question. Does your car have drum or disk brakes? Both my truckettes 1975 and 1977 came with drum brakes, to my knowledge none ever had disk brakes. Its replacement the Acadiane came with disk brakes.
      Gees.. Are you sure you want to sell that beauty? I could not.... 57, my year of birth...☺

      @@beju9219 Thank you for the info! Mine has the drum brakes, for which I am grateful. If I am ever stuck in a desert, I know you can discard two wheels, turn the engine around and press the drum against a tire and ride out of there on a 2CV motorcycle in reverse the whole way.
      That would be memorable - ticketed in France in a 2CV, I admire your wild law-breaking ways!
      It's been one of my favorite cars, for sure. But as I am aging, born 10 years after this car was, I must downsize my collection. It became too large for me to take any of the cars out without pulling others out.

    You should have the right size of the headlight frame. Better look I think. But the longer roof is fantastic !

      You might be thinking of the Reliant Robin, a 3 wheeler that Top Gear found easy to rig to roll.
      You can't roll a 2CV going forward in a fair test (no steps, curbs, etc.

      It you're too quick taking a curve, the front outside tire will rub against the fender and the car will... just stop in place right in the middle of the curve, accompanied by a stalled engine.

      Citroen guarantee it won’t roll or they’ll give you any car of your choice . Having said that they will roll if you go fast in reverse .

      425 originally, I believe. The previous owner gave it the monstrous 602. Same top speed due to the tranny, I believe, but it GETS there fast. It's really quite a little ripper!
