it's easy to see why prices of these cars is on the rise, in a world of cars that are so much the same, these cars are unique, quirky, wonderful, long may they be loved and cherished

According to the new rules, they want us to buy computers on wheels without a soul. Do you think our grand children will restore a Tesla in 2080 ?

      Amen to that!

The left wiper is erratic ☺ and valves are a bit noisy. Apart of it, you lovely 2CV is just iconic. Thank you for keeping her alive and well.

Beautiful video! Very interesting to see the trafficlutch in action! I think I'd like one on my Ami8!

If vicariously driving a 2cv is this much fun, actually driving one must be a real joy.

Great video Simon, what a great car! In my opinion cars today are too easy to drive, I like a car/motorcycle that you have to work with and understand what the machine needs from the driver to operate properly, these classics are so full of character! Again great car and great video, really enjoy the information you bring to the video's. P.s, love those window wipers.😄

Excellent video Simon, i much prefer the ride of the earlier cars with the inertia dampers than that of the later cars especially my 1964 Ami 6 which is super soft and my 1957 2cv was great fun as well especially on windy roads 🙂

Thank you, Ragnar. As you know, I regret so much that my ‘62 Ami 6 never made it through restoration. That’s my greatest motoring regret.

Very nice this ride in this 2cv of 57 with centrifugal clutch. There, at least we can hear the sound of the engine and not shitty music as some people put it. By the way, your rockers click a little it seems to me.
A small adjustment is necessary ...Nice 2cv in any case!

I remember Gilbert Shelton (underground comix creator) profiling this car. "The 'CV' stands for 'horsepower'."

Pinnacle of the automobile, seriously! Cars never should’ve been made faster than these were.
We wouldn’t need the expensive and heavy safety features of new cars. People would be more careful about their speed.
We wouldn’t need these complicated fuel-saving measures that add expensive points of failure.
What’s that? Want to travel faster? Well top speeds should limit sprawl to a degree. Oh, you want to travel further? Want more creature comforts?? Take the train!

Fantastic. Just a note, hard to judge, but it seems to me that the steering is a bit stiff, should be very light and free moving.
    Steering box, chassis?

Can I get one of those traffic clutches for my 66 beetle? The traffic is horrible here in Southern California……😉🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣 The 2cv is one of the only cars I would trade my beetle for.

    • @FindingDrivingSpirit
      @FindingDrivingSpirit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Actually, if you are prepared to trade up to a ‘squashed Beetle’, I seem to recall one could buy a ‘Seventies 911 with ‘Sportomatic’ - a semi automatic transmission. Did that ever make it onto the Beetle, I wonder?

It is music to my ears I have had 2cv's from 1978 when I bought my first one Brand new for £1625 on the road, however i sold my last one in November 21 and miss them so much.Great video thanks for the memories.

Thanks Harry! Lovely to hear your appreciation. Hard to imagine life without a 2CV! Although I don’t currently have one on the road, at least I get to spend plenty of time with them and it’s invariably a pleasure!

Absolutely lovely car, what a dream!! 0-30 was 21 seconds for the 375cc Model A (through the gears) though, however, the 0-40 was 44 seconds lol

@@FindingDrivingSpirit indeed. Totally agree on that. And they kept that sound until the end of production.
