Bruhhhhhh you is a LIFE SAVER! I took apart the whole bumper and reinstalled only to have it looks the same. I noticed those metal arms and how easily they flexed but never thought to try this! Definitely trying this method next!
I did the same thing but I first loosened the bolts holding the bracket, raised the sag with a jack and two by four, tightened the bolts tightly and bumper never moved.
fucking LIFE SAVER!! The shop wanted over 1,000 AED to do mine. Pro tip: get some penetrating spray and tighten up everything while you're under there! Thanks bud!
jajajjaja yo igual, se me habia caido el bomper de un lado y no sabia si habria que quitarlo todo y enderazarlo o solo socar algun perno pero gracias a este video pude solucionarlo jajaa
ya man , looks good! smart. i got into an accident, my bumper needs replacing... so in the meantime im gonna jack it so it looks better, but its still an accident. hahahaha.
Essentially you’re bending the metal so I don’t know how washers are really going to help. It’s a good idea to prevent it from slightly dropping a smidge but tbh it wouldn’t hardly be noticeable enough to warrant them in the long run. Face facts the GMC plant didn’t do the bars right to tighten up the gap when they made them and the only way to correct it is by bending them yourself or taking it to the body shop for them to do the same thing and charge $1000.00 for it.
No clue what the taco underside looks like or how your bumper is mounted...take a look, if you have a similar small crossbar propping up the sides, then yes it should work. On the chevy/gm that mount gets bent slightly over time just from the weight of the bumper assembly
Nope. Tweaking the frame by lifting from a weak bracket? The frame.... The strongest, safest way to lift a vehicle? Clearly this method is tweaking the bracket and probably a little bit of the bumper.
Mike Lows you got so hurt you had to go and stalk me 😂 those videos are so old your point isn’t even worth shutting down. Imagine never changing a tire💀
The entire assembly sags over time due to the weight of the bumper, tack welds won't solve anything unless you add a verical support bar towards the front and weld it. Pulling the lift out of the garage every couple years sounds easier and doesn't look like a hack job
The front bumper sag because people stand on the the front and rear bumper cheap thin metal , I just replaced my front bumper its very light weight thin cheap metal my truck 2001 2500hd if manufacturers had this attitude back 20 plus years ago you can imagine today trucks has nothing but plastic bumper with styrofoam as support your really better buying a real steal after market built to last and take a hit
Menthols on the stool tool tray….. I’m trusting this video.
I had most of the bolts out before I watched this. You’re the man.

This is so simple. I've been avoiding this fix because i thought it'd be an ordeal, thanks!
Thanks.. I have been brainstorming trying to figure out where to put the pressure. I knew it was an 'easy fix' thanks for the video!
I did the same thing but I first loosened the bolts holding the bracket, raised the sag with a jack and two by four, tightened the bolts tightly and bumper never moved.
Which bracket did you loosen did it allow you to move the bumper all the way up and when you tightened it and it did not move ?
Did you loosen the single nut? Or the two on the opposite side
Thanks so much in restoring my dads 2004 silverado 1500 5.3 LM7 and I just got the bumper valance all together with zip ties
Thank you so much, bro I think you saved me at least 200 to $250.
Your a genius, thank you for existing you make this world a better place
Did this actually work and not damage anything
fucking LIFE SAVER!! The shop wanted over 1,000 AED to do mine. Pro tip: get some penetrating spray and tighten up everything while you're under there!

Well done I've been thinking about this for years. can you do a video about the rust that develops everywhere else on the vehicle now?
Igual XD

Dude .. in minutes it was fixed thanks for sharing! Seriously
Thanks I did mine this morning and i left a 2 finger space both sides and it look even my passenger side was sagging more.
Wow so glad i found this video this was so easy to fix that ugly ass sagging bumper on my 06
Hell yea bro this is how I fixed the gap on my 99. I did it with the emergency jack in my truck 😅 shit was sketchy
This fixed my bumper, thanks for the video!
That’s really good to know I’ll try that as soon as I get home
Thanks. I think I found this evening's project.
Temporary fix for it sad. Good idea for a quick solution like you said. But the bolts could use washers
the whole washer thing, where do you put them?
@@mjfdiecast1303 inside the throttle body, it adds 10 whp

100% worked for my 04 avalanche 😎👍🏼
Thanks dude.. looks promising
Awesome truck love that color
I wonder if this works on the rear bumper?
Your my hero man!! Thank you 🙏🏻 my truck looks even better now
Dude your a life saver thank you so much 😊
I tried this and instead of lifting my bumper my entire truck started rising what am I doing wrong
Nothing as long as you're raising at the same bracket as in the video, it'll lift the truck as well...keep going slowly, lower back down and repeat
@port nut can't be the "wrong way" if it works, it's free, it saves a ton of time, and it doesn't screw up anything else 🤷♂️
@port nut YOU SIR ARE RIGHT THESE HAVE ADUSTMENTS ON THEM IF YOU LOOK FOR THE SLOTED BOLT HOLES YOU CAN ADUSTMENT THEM.
hows it holding up buddy??
Haven't touched it since i posted the video, and gaps are still very solid 👌
@@balkanvt appreciate you buddy thanks!!
Really great information sir! Many thanks!
You solved my problem. Awesome! Thank you!!!
Same situation with 04 Toyota Tacoma will this help snagging bumper

Great video. Thanks!
Mine just keeps sagging back to where it was, been at it for the last half an hour and nothings changed
Your bolts are loose. Tighten them up and then do it so your bar actually bends and not flex because of loose bolts.
It works on 2008?
Thanks man saved me money
Quick and easy.
Thank you I just did mine,great video.👍
carlos what model do you have
Cy 04 silverado 1500 lt ext cab....it was quick and easy.
thanks im going to try it this weekend on my 07 classic
Omg tysm I'm gonna do this on my babe 2004 silv
Mine will not go all the way up
What is the length of the 2x4?
You can just measure the distance between your floor jack and the metal rod and knock off a couple inches
Nope.
You're just tweaking the frame.
The proper technique is to loosen the bolts holding the bumper...
Then readjust...
The bolt that holds the bracket to the frame, or the bracket to the bumper?
Yes.
2 years later and it's still not sagging, so frankly i don't give a damn about the "proper" extensive technique. You can have at it all you'd like
@@balkanvt don't really give a shit if it's still not sagging. You didn't do it right u gd idiot.
Nope.
Tweaking the frame by lifting from a weak bracket?
The frame.... The strongest, safest way to lift a vehicle?
Clearly this method is tweaking the bracket and probably a little bit of the bumper.
Do i need to loosen the bracket first?
I didn't bother... you're bending the bracket back into place, loosening won't do anything for that
Will this work on a 2011 has a similar bracket
I bet you can’t even change your wiper blades if you’re asking that type of question 💀
Nuu b coming from the guy who watches America’s got talent and sucks at cs 🤣🤣🤣🤣 with his failed gaming videos . Just answer my question daddy 😆🤣😂

does it work for a s-10?
No idea, but if the bumper is mounted in the same fashion, i would assume yes
Wow this helped a lot 👍
Thanks. I fix mu 2003 chevy tahoe with this video.
I did this method and it got rid of my check engine light🤨
That’s a good thing it means its fixed 😂
Nice cateye
It's good but doesn't align with the fender
Repeat until it aligns....
Thank you! It made it much better.
Thank you :) it works
Fucking genius was freaking out thank you
Thanks you so much buddy
It will drop again over time, put a couple small tack welds on both ends of the bracket and it will stay!
The entire assembly sags over time due to the weight of the bumper, tack welds won't solve anything unless you add a verical support bar towards the front and weld it. Pulling the lift out of the garage every couple years sounds easier and doesn't look like a hack job
Thank you !!!!!!
Jack stand and 2x4?
He said jack stand but I'm sure he meant to say floor jack.
Floor jack...verbal diarrhea, sorry
Thanks I was wandering for a long time how
Considering the side you showed wasn't sagging. Looks worst now.
Put down the crack pipe
Fuck Yeah. thanx buddy 👊👊👊👊👊👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
👌
Thanks buuuuuuudy
I just bought 2 of those brackets on Amazon for 20 bucks
Did they fix the sag? Link? Got a Tahoe that looks like shit
Did they ever work? And can you add the link to those? That would be great thanks.
Brackets are probably cheap and will sag even worse over time. I just got off Amazon and the reviews said they're junk
