  • Today I learned: I still need to give myself #permission to be the person I know I am. If you need that, know I give you permission to be the best you there is. 💜💜💜

Thank you so much! I expect it will be a poignant moment when I wake up from surgery... 💜💜💜

I think your message is so powerful. You seem like such a respectful and gentle person. May you recover well from your surgery, and may your new chapter be blessed❤

Thank you...I appreciate your praise and your well-wishes. I'm just trying to make it as best as possible. I'll be making vlogs while I'm in Thailand, and I hope you'll follow along and see the story to its conclusion! 💜💜💜

For many years prior (basically a lifetime) I thought I could never achieve it either...so had similar feelings going into surgery. I kinda consider it a normal feeling for those finally getting around to fix those dangly bits a bit later in life.

At least I was able to believe my hair could change, right? I mean, could be worse.
I believe I'll be pretty emotional when I first wake up from surgery. My wife says she'll take footage. Thanks, hon! 😹

Society agrees, you are an adult so go be whoever you want. Do what you want. It’s your life, have fun.

I'm glad you agree, anyway! Society, for the most part, disagrees. If there was universal agreement, I wouldn't have to make videos like this one.

@@amethystaherrickI think most of society supports the idea of individuals living however they want. If some people disagree, don’t let it bother you. If you’re a good person willing help others, accepting that others may disagree with you on lots of things, you can still live happily however you want. Just don’t make it all about you. Just my suggestion.

@kenv9191 - I agree with you. For the most part, people aren't at all concerned with what I do. There is a VERY vocal minority - whom, as you note, I should ignore. That would be easier if that minority weren't the group of people currently making laws about me, of course.
I'm curious - could you explain "just don't make it all about you" a bit further? Candidly, I think I do an OK job talking about issues as opposed to people.

This is exactly what I’ve been struggling so much with. All my life, I tried so hard to fit in as male and everything I did, everything I wore, everything I was, was just a mask I’d built up of what people expected of me.
But then as I started transitioning, I’ve found myself still scared to violate those same expectations, but also scared to violate expectations of what people expect me to do to be feminine.
Like now I’m still embarrassed to be found out for not being masculine, but also forcing myself to meet feminine expectations in an attempt to get people in my life to believe me about being trans.
And over the last couple weeks I’ve really noticed this and started focusing on learning to do what actually feels right to me and not on what I’m worried about others thinking.
I watched Luca (2021) today, and unexpectedly, I think it’s actually going to make a big difference in my life because I’ve been struggling to get over these worries, and I think putting a catchy phrase behind the idea of telling your sense of fear to shut up is exactly the missing link I needed. So now whenever I start getting cold feet about taking a step I know I want to, I’ll remember, “Silenzio, Bruno”.

Thank you so much for your story, Sister! 💜
I think you've defined the transgender experience perfectly. We can't be what society expects, but we fear being ourselves. I'm glad to hear your story will continue and improve. You got this, believe me.
If you'd ever like to talk, please feel free to reach out through the personal website link in my bio. I'm not a psychologist, but I can certainly listen if you need an ear. 💜🏳️‍⚧️💜

This comment will be absolutely deleted...
But the sad reality is society will react based on how you look like. No matter how much you "radiate good vibes" or no matter you feel like "living my best life" or how you feel about yoursel(confidence)
Sorry. Nobody can't deny that healthy and natural looking people appeal to others. Thats just basic instinct deep in our dna. Waaay deeper than we are willing to admit.
And now I wait for commets like... #NoButPersonalityMattersMost ##### (insert whatever hashtag you like)
    Sorry.
Edit: no hate or illwilling towards you. Ugly weird looking people are allways gonna be ugly and weird

I went ahead and approved this comment, especially since you felt it would be deleted.
You may be surprised to find I agree with you in some regard. People capable of fulfilling social expectations are more accepted by the social environment. It's a tautomer.
Some people find me horrific just as some people would find you horrific. For the most part, we try not to talk about it too loudly. That's not ill will or hate - it is, as you said, human nature to prefer certain people.
