    0:36 1995.
    6:07 Don’t forget Hasshe’s death.
6:33 We only have confirmation of Uranus being tortured.
One aspect of the Middle Ages chapter that adds to its tragedy is the optional flashbacks scattered throughout Lucrece that appear at various points in the story.
The first flashback is triggered at the upper right of the Lucrece Castle Terrace after Alethea's abduction and has Oersted recall watching it from that very spot.
The second flashback is triggered in front of Hasshe's false gravestone at the summit of The Hero's Rest after Hasshe's death, and has Oersted recall the hero's dying words, starting from an earlier point than the version at the end of the chapter does.
The third flashback is triggered in front of the center chair (on top of the left chair in the original version) in Uranus' house after Uranus' death and has Oersted recall the priest's decision to join his and Streibough's quest and convince Hasshe to do the same.
Oersted is someone who is deeply affected by the losses of those close to him and seeks reasons to persist and overcome the odds. It's no wonder Streibough's betrayal and Alethea's suicide cause him to collapse in the way he does: having a series of recollections before changing the definition of "overcoming the odds" from "restoring peace and faith to Lucrece" to "striking down anyone who stands in opposition to him." Thus does the Lucrecian knight crown himself Lord of Dark.

I learned about Live a Live's existence after the algorithm flung me just the Saint Alathea attack Pure Odio uses.
It's so haunting and terrible, I loved it and it made me interested in the game.
Then, the algorithm flung this video at me.
    The algorithm works, I guess!
Thank you for taking the time to script, edit, and post this video. It's no small feat, and there's no guarantee anybody will ever see it, but I got immense value from this video. I don't have the time in my life to play long RPGs for now, and Live a Live was gnawing at me.
    Thank you!

I love this game with every fiber and this is exactly the kind of analysis I was hoping would happen after the HD remake. Thanks for making it!

Amazing! One of my favorite games. I recently discovered your channel through your SaGa videos as that is my favorite jrpg series. This game is also one of my all-time favorites. However, I haven't played the remake, just the original

The original is just as good! It makes me happy when people come back to my videos too. Thanks for letting me know how you got here!

Incel actions lead to time and space reaching evil and tragedy. NTR, not even once.
