In the unlikely case that the metal is corrosion prone, a small drop of oil is all that it takes to keep it from rusting. Obviously, if you ever clean that part, it will need to be re-oiled. Cheers.
i use kalium and they are well worth it. all i'll ever use with bass since trying them. not sure what your shipping rate would be, but it would be a good idea to at least try them at some point.
Very chevelle sounding. Cool bass. Also just so you know; I live in the US 1 state away from kalium. Last time I ordered a set of strings from them it took them about a month to get the shipped to me, and that was with me only being a couple hundred miles away from them
Hey! Just to let you know, D'addario do tapered bass strings. Oddly though, it seems only up to 135 long scale in Germany. You can get them from the D'addario UK store or Strings Direct though according to their site and it'd surely be cheaper than importing Kaliums from the States. Their site strangely misses out tapered 145 long scales from their single string list, but does have 135 longs, 160 longs and 145 super longs, so might just be a mistake. Could be worth a look.
it´s a 45-105 set plus a single 145, all by daddario. but weirdly enough the set feels tighter on the new bass than on my old bass, even though they have the same scale length. so i might switch to a lighter gauge set.
Normally for a 5 string bass, a 45-105 set comes with 125 or 130. Maybe try 130 for the B string only and see what it gives. Although 145 sounds fat af, I think It might be the reason why the other strings are too tight.
Greetings man,I have a question regarding amp sims.I see you use overloud TH3 very well.Would you recommend this for a guy on a budget? I'm getting back into playing guitar after an extensive 2 year break. I want to buy a guitar and an amp.But I'm currently not sure about what amp I want. Would you recommend Amp sims?while I decide on what amp I want.Love your channel btw!!More how to sound like videos please..
well, when you´re getting back into playing guitar, amp sims might be a little difficult to get into. you need an audio interface and set that up first before you can use amp sims. than when you use an amp sim you need to know your way around setting up inputs and outputs and what not. so it requires a little bit of computer skills. but among amp sims i do think TH3 is the best bang for the buck. it comes with a stand alone version, so you don´t need an extra DAW to use it.
question is, how well set up was it when you got it from thomann? I bought a Ibanez 7 string guitar off of thomann and I was in horrible shape with the setup and such.
thomann doesn´t set up each and every instrument they receive from the factories. those usually do the final setup, if they actually do them at all. that being said, this bass was set up pretty good. i just had to make slight adjustments to the intonation and string height due to the string swap.
@@ForTiorIJohnny well im happy to havr gotten a response fairly quickly. Ive been thinking about getting pne of these from thomann for a while now. Im kind of a newbie when ot comes to setting up so im still learning but that sounds assuring.
Hey Johnny. Sorry to hijack the comment topic but please tell me you'll be demoing Line 6 Helix Native when it drops in the next 48 hours? A lot of us value your opinion so it would be nice if you'd offer it when you can. Cheers
if it has a decent demo version i will. but tbh 400 bucks already sounds kind of overpriced. TH3 is 250 and i can´t imagine Helix Native will sound that much better. but i´ll try to go into it as unbiased as possible :)
ForTiorI yeah I'm wondering how it will compare to th3 aswell. There's a 15 day trial period with full features apparently. Looking forward to trying it myself
nope, i´m using TH3 now. it´s kind of the under dog of amp simulation. but i think it´s one of the best. i only use the X3 as di box. it sounds way better than the Scarlett pre´s.
well, i have a 1st gen scarlett. the pre´s on that are definitely not all that great for di recording. i´m not sure about the 2nd gen. the pre on the x3 is specifically made for guitar. that´s why it sounds much better. i also made a video in which i compared the di quality between the scarlett, a radial di box and the pod hd pro. the di box already improves the quality a whole lot, but the pod still sounded a bit better than the di box. and i found the pre´s of the hd and x3 don´t sound any different. i guess they use the same for both. that´s why i sold my hd pro and use my x3 live now as di box.
I love the tone you're getting on this video. Can you share with us what your signal chain is (brand and model of DI, or preamp, DAW interface, etc.) and any plug-ins (compression, eq, simulator, drive, etc.) that we might be hearing on this video? Thanks! Congrats on your new Sire!
i use my old Pod x3 live as di box. that goes to my scarlett 6i6 via spdif. the tone comes from TH3. in there i first use a compressor, then an Ampeg SVT simulation with an Ampeg cab from Rosen Digital. and lastly a bit of EQ.
it doesn´t feel much wider than my Yamaha bass. for what i do right now it´s comfortable. but for more technical playing i guess i would recommend to look for something else.

So happy for your tone man !
I have tried this one on a ampeg svt 3 pro with a Darkglass B7K and i love it so much !

Killer bass man.
Do you recommend it for Progressive Death Metal?

hey, thanks for the tip. i´ll check it out.
Fortiori def get tapered. D’addario offers tapers for all their 135+ strings
which strings have you put on? Nice tone!

Yeah this is why the B string can't go in the hole of the bridge, they're made for gauge around 130
@@ForTiorIJohnny 50-135 seems to work well.

Geiler Bass! Kann man ihm in Drop D stimmen ohne viel am Hals was zu verenden?
Did you look at Thomann for a new Bridge? If you buy a new Bridge you would get around withour drilling...

Hey dude I have a SIRE V7 and its very bass jazzy, its só bass jazzy...
Do you still use this bass. I am thinking of buying a 4 string version
yes, i still use it and it still sounds amazing.
@@ForTiorIJohnny Thank you so much for the reply. Also one doubt, do you still track all your Di's with presonus?
Great! The bell is just turned on! I am one of yours: D
its modeled after a jazz bass. not the strat Y
Through distortion?
I'm sweating either getting this or the vintage version.. to do slap.. but I also play through distortion..
can you sudgest a good bass plugin for metal with drop a?
Hi, does this work well with AEADG tuning?
yes, i play in drop A myself and it sounds massive.
How noisy are the J's on distortion?
so what after having sold the HD? i see you got back to using the X3, is it?

got it, and thanks for the analysis!
Why didnt you just coilsplit your old bass?
becuase the pickups in the old bass only have two conductors. you can´t split those.
I love the tone you're getting on this video. Can you share with us what your signal chain is (brand and model of DI, or preamp, DAW interface, etc.) and any plug-ins (compression, eq, simulator, drive, etc.) that we might be hearing on this video? Thanks!

NBD!! Congrats man! Is it just me or is the string spacing really wide on the V7?

new bass = new song ?
Jesus te ama
fam, why don't you cover popular songs like you used to, imagine the boost you'd have
Great sound man ;)
The 5th string is a B string
