I drive and cycle. The only antagonist in that video is Adrian. Adrian is a fud. The car drivers were all fine. Be less Adrian
Brilliant comment, you beat me too it, I couldn't see anything wrong with the drivers, but Adrian was definitely out to antagonise, and annoy other road users.
Adrian = male version of a - karen
Fud 😂, not heard that word in ages 😊
Same here. Well said.
People who make a living by complaining will always find something to complain about, even when there isn't anything.
As a cyclist I really appreciated both of those car overtakes. They were done, as you said, swiftly and safely, especially the Audi driver holding back at a good distance until she was certain it was safe to overtake. I definitely would have given both a thumbs up as they passed me.
Absolutely right. She was very sensible. As a cyclist I appreciate drivers like her.
100% agree as a daily commuter cyclist. Nothing here would even remotely register as aggressive or intimidating. Adrian goads the Audi driver with his comment as he passes her.
As a cyclist, neither of those overtakes would have been necessary as I would have sat behind them at the first set of lights 😂
But I agree, nothing wrong there. Particularly the Audi
TBF the Audi was further back... But if the Merc was a little irritated, I'm not surprised
I’m not anti cyclists, I’m anti idiot and there are idiots on both sides of the fence, idiot drivers and idiot cyclists! If motor vehicles should give cyclists sufficient space when they overtake why is this not also applied to cyclists overtaking motor vehicles? To put yourself in a dangerous position is idiotic. A motor vehicle overtakes a cyclist, stops at lights, as an example, the cyclist pushes to the front of queue where the motor vehicle then has to overtake again. I’ve experienced the cyclist laughing at drivers stopped at lights etc. as they squeeze past to get to the front and then the process starts all over again.
In the first clip, why oh why did the cyclist pass two vehicles then cut in? As a cyclist myself, surely waiting behind the third vehicle in a line of three would have been the thing to do. By cutting in, two of those vehicles now have to overtake a much slower vehicle, the cyclist. Just remember kids, just because you can, doesn't mean you should!
Really kind of funny to see Adrian reprimand a driver for doing something he'd just done, twice.
Hypocrisy is sadly part of human nature..
Ironic even
He's a councillor, probably gunning for MP at some point. Classic politician stance.
Maybe him and Jeremy Whine should go out for a ride together. They can give each other tantrum tips.
Get Cycling Mikey involved and you’ll have a stupendous amount of silly cycling.
@@adammcallister2260 Came here to make the exact same comment.
@@adammcallister2260 I've really gone off Mikey recently. I get that because of his life experiences he doesn't like bad driving but at this point I don't think he's making the roads safer. He's just increasing the hate towards people like me that cycle. I'd like to see him just reporting bad driving without sharing it to the world.
@@johnmcgovern5372 - I honestly think Mikey is a troll. In some of his videos he spends a concerning amount of time looking into vehicles windows instead of the road which is pretty ironic. He knows full well the people he catches don't have a leg to stand on, and it's impossible to argue against him in most cases. I get the feeling his content has shifted towards looking for a confrontation, it's like he craves attention and views.
What a thought this guy, JV and Crikey Mikey cycling in a pack.. Don't bear thinking about. 😂😂
I was confused watching that clip the first time, I just though "but nothing happened!". I realise now that's kind of the point of the video 😂

And a Lib Dem one at that, I clocked before the footage started and he thinks and acts exactly as I thought he was going to.
Adrian, The mercedes and the audi did nothing wrong. Its more of a "Me Cyclist, Look at me* attitude
Personally I would have thanked the Audi for holding back whilst passing the parked cars. She done well and demonstrated patience, but now - what does she think of cyclists?
The merc got quite close to the rear wheel of Adrian and accelerated past hard, only to then tailgate the van ahead. It's poor driving. Needlessly aggressive, makes you feel on edge when riding alongside them and whilst driving is bad for the environment, erratic driving is even worse.
The Audi also came up behind Adrian quite closely, but they did back off. The overtake wasn't close, but is also wasn't necessary. Again, poor driving, just failing to look at the road ahead.
Notably, most cars would have slowed and let the guy out from the sideroad half way through the clip as well. Entitled nonsense all round.
@@solasta yes, that just goes to show the attitude of the Audi driver. Why not just ease off and let that driver out? Nope, riding the rear wheel of the cyclist instead.
Calling someone a c*nt isn't wrong?
It shows an emotional response from the driver. Same kind of person ends up in court because they value their 20 seconds more than your safety.
All I am going to say it worries me that someone like this is a councillor.
That would explain a lot.
Totally…they will naturally be using their position and office by some extent, to support their personal agenda, which in this case means anti car measures. Biased people should never be allowed to run for public office positions.
You have no authority here, Jackie Weaver
Agreed. This country used to be better than most because of the systems we had in place to mitigate personal agendas: jury trial, due process, regulators etc. But they've all been eroded or subverted now hence why we're turning into a nascent banana republic.
I mean look at his picture I've never seen such a genetic failure.
Eventually Adrian will get antagonistic to the wrong person and end up making use of the NHS as a consequence.
@@AdrianChapmanlaw Apparently you believe British police are more effective than police elsewhere. 🤡🤡

@@AdrianChapmanlaw That's why we call them "the wrong person". They don't care and let their emotions control their actions and Adrian will learn the hard way one day when he comes across one.
From the gibbering in Adrian's video and the simple-minded text scrawled inelegantly across the screen, I rather think he's already met the wrong person and they got very cross with him and removed his brain.
@@AdrianChapmanlaw You're assuming they'd get caught, which isn't a very reasonable assumption and as others have pointed out, you're assuming they'd care/have the emotional restraint to allow for that consideration in the moment.

Cycling is supposed to be a joy, but there’s no joy to be had with Adrian
Poor Adrian thinks he's the main character. Genuinely embarrassing.
Cycling is supposed to be a more relaxed and chilled-out way to travel. All he's succeeding in doing is winding himself and other road-users up.
More relaxed ? You do not realise the danger a cyclist is in on our roads, motorists kill or injure nearly 30000 people every year, cyclists know how bad car drivers are.

He got upset that the Audi didn't overtake, then got upset again when the Audi did overtake?
There was nothing wrong with that overtake either. Plenty of room was given. I imagine the Audi driver didn't overtake at the first opportunity that Adrian thought it could have gone, because the Audi driver knows they couldn't have safely overtaken with that oncoming car.
You can't win with zealots. They're always right, you see. And the rest of us are always just one word or one action away from being denounced.
His point is that when they did overtake legitimately and safely, they then had to stop again in the queue for the traffic lights as he went past them again.
That overtake was ultimately pointless but the cyclist is an aggressive and annoying c u next Tuesday himself who is going out of his way to continually provoke aggressive reactions in response.
@@tconnolly9820 Well, wouldn't you want to overtake that Tw*t so you could avoid spending more time looking at him than you needed to?
@@tconnolly9820I agree with your comment except the part that the overtake was pointless coz it wasn't dosnt matter if he had to stop at the next lights he still got past the slower vehicle I mean the alternative is for you as a cyclist to pottering about with a line o 10 cars behind u because u think your too important to be overtaken and that line will just get bigger and bigger overtaking slower vehicles is called flow of traffic
@@christopherhammond7258 I didn't mean that it was pointless at all to overtake the bike. As a driver you have to make progress safely and with respect to cyclists and others. I just meant that after he overtook then literally about three seconds later the driver had to start braking again.
Personally when I'm cycling on open roads and streets amidst traffic I'm keeping a constant check on traffic behind me using my two handlebars mirrors.
If I'm holding up traffic in an area where I can't safely be overtaken, if it's practicable I will regularly pull over in a safe space for me to let them pass me safely. Granted, occasionally when I do this there is such a flow of traffic that I can still be waiting for an opportunity to safely rejoin the traffic 30 seconds or a minute later.
I know there are many cyclists like the peddlin' micky who will practically have a mini stroke at the idea of not holding your rightful place on the road but I'm a firm believer in showing respect and courtesy towards other road users AND expecting the same courtesy and respect in return.
But if you don't give it out it's hard to expect it from others. People who are mean only expect meanness from others.
It's better to be disappointed by the failings of others than to be an example of that disappointment yourself.
I honestly would've given the Audi driver a thumbs up, she was the most generous I think
@@AdrianChapmanlawif the overtake was fine, then why bother even saying anything? Not your problem if someone ends up sitting in traffic, is it? That lady did nothing wrong and nothing to endanger you. You were just needlessly antagonistic. Simple as.
@@AdrianChapmanlawwhy would you yell a sarcastic 'nice job' at someone who gave you plenty of space and overtook safely? Ashley is right, you're aggressive and a danger on the roads, stop giving cyclists a bad name.
@@AdrianChapmanlawyou can't start crying because something carries a risk. Most things carry risk. Do you shout at builders because most houses have stairs and there's a risk you could slip? If you don't like risk then get off the road. There's always going to be risk. The best we can do is minimise it and they did. I'd argue there's a risk of shouting abuse into car windows for driving perfectly safely. Or was it because it was woman? There's a risk it could be a lad who might jump out and lamp you one. You don't seem to mind risk there. I don't know if you are or not but I get the impression that if you were a vegan that you'd walk into a steakhouse and complain they're serving meat. If you're so averse to risk then why didn't you just move over once the cars had cleared? It reeks of indignation to me

I hope nothing because this guy is not worth the time.
The fact that he even has to ask what is antagonistic in the video says it all about the level of entitlement on display. Everything that is wrong with society right there in one video
Deluded springs to mind.
I'm not a fan of C-bombs, but perhaps the Audi driver was taught to always tell the truth. A real dilemma.
Everybody else is just making their way along busy roads, threading their way through traffic lights, parked cars, vehicles turning or emerging and looking out for pedestrians and cyclists.
Meanwhile, we've got Adrian, who seems to think he's single-handedly fighting some kind of war against everybody else on the road.
When you think it's everybody else, maybe it's you.
Absolutely crazy, as a sports cyclist im passed worse than this daily, if you find these types of overtakes threatening you really shouldnt be cycling in the road
@@AdrianChapmanlaw just report them and let the bad drivers get a course or points and a fine. There is no need for trial by social media.
The day I came across the Einstein quote "weak people revenge, strong people forgive, intelligent people ignore" - I aspired to be more intelligent.
I should listen to that one.
The irony of his riding then pointing out each car drivers ‘mistakes’ which is exactly what he has done prior to his comments. It’s laughable.
Unfortunately I can’t see this attitude changing. He fixates with every vehicle directly behind or in front. Then makes up their attitude in his own mind.
He will make a comment to the wrong driver one of these days.
Again your analysis seems spot on, as I totally agree with you. I await for his response though he’s no longer watching your channel 😉.
As a cyclist, on first viewing I winced as he filtered past the stationary cars at the traffic lights. Personally, I wouldn't have done that unless there was an ASL: safer and easier just to fall in behind. Plus, if at all possible I would have slowed to help the car trying to emerge from the right; being that the traffic going the opposite way had stopped to let them out.
I agree, filtering means that you are just going to block them later. It is inconsiderate.
The only problem with slowing or stopping on a bike to let someone out is because you haven't got big red brake lights on the rear of your bike, vehicles behind are less likely to notice you have slowed or stopped in the middle of the road unexpectedly until they are potentially too close to you.
@@tconnolly9820old school hand signals for slowing down work well even if the vehicle behind doesn’t understand the meaning it draws attention to you, I do hand signals on my motorcycle in busy traffic situations and it’s surprising how you get noticed instantly even with brake and indicators on.
@@alankemp1970 I have never heard of "Scorpion" hand signals. I put the term into Google and nothing relevant to riding or driving showed up. If you can find a link please do share because I am curious.
When I am cycling, I try to use very clear hand signals. Arms extended straight out right or left for up to 5 seconds to indicate direction. Less if it's a more unplanned manoeuvre for any reason. I hate cyclists who give a one second limp hand signals barely off their handlebars because it's so short and barely noticeable a driver behind can easily miss it if not looking directly at the cyclist at that moment.
I also do use the outstretched right arm and palm facing down waving to indicate slowing or stopping at times when appropriate. But I have found this to be sometimes ignored by following traffic, sometimes cutting past me on my left if I'm in prime position despite the reason for me slowing or stopping in front of me. An elderly pedestrian crossing in the most memorable and dangerous case. Drivers can be as aggressive as any entitled cyclist and far more dangerous.
That's why I would be reluctant to use that kind of slowing or stopping hand signals with an apparent clear road in front of me because an aggressive driver could cut past me perhaps directly into the car I was allowing to pull out in front of me from the right as in this video.
I have mirrors on my handlebars and keep a good eye on what's happening behind me. With traffic behind I will not stop or slow in the road to accommodate other cars or pedestrians for these reasons. I'll let a following vehicle behind do that more safely than I can.
I'm sorry if someone thinks I'm an entitled cyclist for not doing this anymore but the dangers unfortunately outweigh the politeness I may be attempting to spread.
If there's nothing close behind though, I will happily let pedestrians cross and car's out in front of me because it's always better to have them accelerating away in front of me than trying to overtake me from behind.
@@tconnolly9820 Yeah, that's why I said "if at all possible". I thought it was obvious that included doing it only if safe. And as @alankemp1970 already noted, handsignals are available - and they are shown in the Highway Code.
Thanks Ashley, I cringed at the guy on the bike’s behaviour. You’re 100% spot on. I can’t see how sniping and sneering at people does any good even when others have made errors and in this case none appear to have been made. It’s concerning that the cammers don’t see the point to the extent they post videos of themselves showing off their behaviour. I suppose it helps to call it out. t’s really important that cyclists realise how behaviour like this puts more cyclists at risk from road rage and sets back the genuinely positive goal of trying to encourage people who can to take up active transport like cycling.

I thought exactly the same. It wasn't a big queue and there was no ASL so why increase the risk? To me it looked as though he wanted to get ahead so he could hold them up a bit and play out his little charade.
Did a MGIF, then criticises same a few moments later. I've had many a MGIF from motorists but seen a few from people riding bikes. I do get in front when there's the time and space and I can see that ahead is going to be blocking progress of motorists, but I'll also pull out of a filter or getting through if it looks a bit more snarly than is safe.

Adrian isn’t the sharpest tool in the box. Despite being so close to cars, he thinks there is such a car as a “citreon”😂😂.
I would personally be grateful she attempted to give me that much space when overtaking. One van last week intimidated me until I stopped at the side to let him pass but still felt the need to close pass me.
Imagine if this was your local councillor, riding around full of ego and anger, not a vote winner 😂
I just watched a video of him shouting at a bus driver for overtaking him and stopping at a bus stop...like a bus that should hold up for 30 seconds just not to overtake. He should put his midlife vibes into something more positive. Reflection after being annoyed at something also helps, but you cannot do that if you already made it your lifegoal to bark at everyone who overtakes you.
About a year ago I was a bit like this on the roads, I would say things to drivers if I didn't like something they did. But it just invited confrontation, and it was never going to change their attitude towards me... now I'm much more chilled. Unless someone puts me in a proper danger then I let people be.
That's a good attitude. There's too many people out there who want to invite confrontation into their lives and because it's an inherently unhinged behaviour they're all playing a dangerous game with each other. Most of them are just a little unhinged/need a little validation, but some of 'em are severely unstable and willing to escalate well-beyond what you might expect based on interactions with most _reasonable_ people.
Some people are just looking to have an _n-bomb moment_ (as the Boondocks called it). Why be the person to share that moment with them?
Adrian must be part of the Jeramy Vine appreciation society. What does everyone else think?
Guy is asking for trouble
I had the thought right at the beginning of, "Why are we passing here?" I would have held back behind the row of stopped traffic if I knew the area. It's much safer for me to minimize the number of times somebody has to pass me on my bike.
Both passes were unnecessary, but we can let them do what they want as long as they do it safely.
Yelling out is something you should never do unless there is a big problem on a bicycle. Just needless antagonizing.
He’s clear trying to create content. Most cyclist are fine with this kind of driving.
As a cyclist why would you want to overtake a stream of cars at the traffic lights. Only to know they are all going to pass you again once they go green. The cyclist wants to hold the traffic up on purpose to get footage.
@stev01970 Agree, but they do. Saw it yesterday at roadworks, bike rode down the inside and then cut in front of the first car, just as it started to move off. Lucky bike was not run over then, Bike then rides at a slow (yeh I know, lyrca was not working that day) though the whole section of roadworks, holding up everyone he had just undertaken.
Total selfish riding.
@@wibbley1 In the same vein, why overtake a cyclist then... oh because the cyclist is travelling slower than you would like them to. It does go both ways though. I tend to filter when there is LOTS of traffic, so I can get through on the next set of lights, rather than wait around for a few light changes. I'm a cyclist and this guy is an embarrassment to all of us.
@benjiviews4300 unfortunately all bike riders are an embarrassment, so much so that I no longer cycle. I don't want other road users to think I am like the other 99.999% of bikes on the road.
I used to comment a lot to disagree and never comment when I agree.
One thing I like your videos is you give everyone the same treatment what they’re using.
A cyclist will get the same rules applied as a motorist.
So few people call bad cycling that it is accepted as the norm.
I find in London most cyclists are like Adrian. It had given me an anti cyclist bias. Watching your videos and dealing with some nicer cyclists outside of London has hopefully readjusted the balance.
I can honestly I’ve had a few courteous cyclists on country roads while driving my truck
Love the videos and keep up the good work
Not clever Adrian... We know this road very well and the potential problems are easy to anticipate. Something tells me things didn't happen as Adrian wanted to be tried to write his own script.
I get it, sometimes cyclists are so used to being treated like junk that we get angry, I get that, but projecting anger on to others turns it in to an ego-battle, and ego's are fragile.
I have been guilty of this, but then I became a bicycle messenger and rode 7 hours a day 4 days a week and quickly realised that you shouldn't assume malice when it is far more likely just incompetence on a driver's part.
Since realising mistakes happen, and some people are awful, I have been much happier. Good people make mistakes. Don't assume everyone is trying to get you or you end up feeling awful.
or the cyclist's incompetence, both sides have their faults, cyclists make just as many if not more errors as drivers. If a car driver drove the way i have seen many cyclists ride, they would be hauled before the courts for dangerous driving
Loving all the comments I have read. Not one supporting the DH Adrian. Happy to have both the car drivers on pass me on a bike.
What a bell end start to finish.
It would be ironic if Adrian gets reported for his shit cycling.
I've been cycling for the last two weeks because of your switch to cycling. I was incredibly nervous about cycling on main roads but It's been quite surprising the amount of space people find and drivers are usually appreciative when I slow down to make it easier for them to overtake. I've been watching this channel for a few years and I hope there's many more to come. Thanks for all your work!
Well done for getting out on the bike!
At 1:48, once the parked vehicles have been passed, as a cyclist I'd've slid left to allow a bit of extra room for following cars to pass easily.
Maybe not all, but in reality most, cyclists are like this.
I've mentioned it before but I live in a country with dedicated cycling infrastructure. This means that the majority of us who are cyclists don't need to share road space with those of us who are car drivers. It is precisely this kind of road user that is an egotistical threat to themselves and others and precisely why the two forms of road users should be kept apart. Until the UK invests in cycling infrastructure, you can expect narcissistic behaviour such as this.
Unfortunately there are a lot of people who think investment in cycle infrastructure is a waste of money, and takes away valuable parking spaces. I solved the problem of the lack of parking by getting rid of my car and using a bicycle.
Well, the Audi lady in the blue car summed him up nicely, along with so many other cyclists who ignore every rule in the book and then proceed to take the moral high ground!.
As an American biker, I believe you can't act improperly then expect others to be nice
Any motorist would have stopped to let the car that was emerging from the right, complete the turn safely. but no, typical entitled cyclist just blasts through, assuming the car has seen him & will not pull out.
Ashley another point is the point Adrian rides past the car waiting to emerge from the right the oncoming driver had given way. It wouldn't have caused an issue if Adrian had slowed to allow him to emerge
I was going to say exactly the same 👨🏻🦲👍🏻
When driving I give way to others frequently, but when I'm cycling I'm reluctant to give way to anyone. My bike does'nt have brake lights (how many do ?), so if the driver behind fails to realise my intentions I'm in trouble. PS I don;t like the bloke in the vid either !
Have to disagree on that one. Look at where the give way markings are. So many accidents caused by this kind of thing. FOLLOW THE HIGHWAY CODE
If the oncoming driver had done that during a driving test, what do you think the outcome would be for them?
A fail.
oh yes. Love it. Thanks Ashley 🙂
1st assessment, in all the energy you wasted getting ahead at the lights you may as well have stayed behind them at the lights
I don't think he was wrong necessarily to filter (or I guess overtake, technically), but I do get your point about it being a bit hypocritical.
I guess the biggest thing I took from this is that he was mad that the audi... didn't overtake? I'll be honest, I don't really like overtaking with oncoming vehicles, even on a 500cc motorcycle with more than enough 'puff' to overtake even at quicker speeds than this. I just can't believe it. In order to overtake where Adrian wanted to, the Audi would have had to speed up just like the mercadees, or risk swerving back in too close to the cyclist. Seems to me like Adrian just wants to have a go at people. It must make cycling so stressful for him. I couldn't imagine seeing everyone and everything as an 'enemy' on my bike. It's not right, and also sucks the fun out of an otherwise fun activity (for both bicycles and motorcycles).
a bit of a rant, but oh well. Life is too short and fragile to be looking for fights. Especially on two wheels!
As a long time commuting cyclist and before that a commuting motorcyclist I often play the game of seeing if I can 'beat' the car drivers whilst sticking to the rules of the road and not doing anything daft. This can often lead to a good chuckle when a car overtakes to just join a queue a second earlier or whatever. I suspect the poster of this vid is doing the same but seems to think he should vocalise his amusement and as you say antagonise the drivers
Back in my cycle commuting days there was a guy in a Porsche used to come out of Notting Hill onto what becomes Holland Park Avenue and then ultimately Oxford Street at the same time as I was passing every day. We got to recognise each other because we'd be gently racing each other from lights to lights all the way from Notting Hill to Marble Arch. In the good weather when he had the top down we'd have a laugh about it. Most times nobody would win, but on a day when I was actually prepared to put something in I'd take him every time. (For reference I'd already done more than 10 miles by the time I got to Notting Hill Gate. Oh to still be that young and fit.)
He's one of the most annoying types of people. One who's got free time to be a nuisance and go running to the police like this is a school playground. He needs to grow up and actually find a hobby he can be self-righteous by himself.
