- This historic Convair 240 airliner has seen better days. Golden Age Flight Museum is taking on the restoration of this great plane.
Originally flying passenger service with Trans Australian Airlines, it served airlines all over the world into the mid 1960s when it returned to the USA for an executive transport conversion.
Owned by Howard Hughes' Summa Corporation based in Las Vegas, this Convair was used to transport Hughes to Burbank and back. It was then used by Cary Grant as his personal transport and retired in the mid 1990's.
GAFM rescued the aircraft from the scrap yard and transported it to our storage area where it awaits restoration.
