The potential of these humanoid robots is mind-blowing! I wonder how society will adapt to having machines that might outperform us in various areas.

We are soon approaching the day when AI humanoid robots enter the battlefield. At $16k a piece (and I anticipate that price will drop as technology improves), we can imagine a squad of robot soldiers marching into battle. Unafraid. Mission-oriented. Impervious to wounds or pain. Killing machines.

Maybe in another 10 or 15 years there will be soldiers with cyberpunk-like augments as well working alongside the ai

I don’t think they would be humanoid. Less efficient that way. I think they would be quadrupedal, with weapons mounted on their top. They could move faster, have lower profile and more agile.

AI humanoid robots that can outperform humans? That's both exciting and a little scary! As someone fascinated by AI, I'm really curious to see how this plays out. I've been following developments

military has always been where new ideas start, they evolve into civilian peacetime purposes, 1920s was classic example of this

Maybe someday, humans won’t kill other humans in the future in 99.9% of wars and just machines from different countries fight and kill other machines…
And wars will be shown as entertainment or something…to show how good certain companies bots are and organized into major sport events idk

    Hi. Thanks for this.
I'm a Luddite Aussie who's lived solo in my homemade camper, but "on the road" (ie., mostly by choice, homeless) for over 20 years.
Having a Robot as a companion has long appealed to me, most because of what I imagine is a Bot's "innate" impartial intellect.
Seeing the "Unitree G1" selling for $16k means I would buy one (maybe TWO!).
But? As with all my tech devices, living in forests, ie, in constantly a "dusty" environment, a big question on getting any Robot is "how dustproof" will they be?"
Then, th next big Q is dusty places or not, how easily would a buyer (but I) get the Robot serviced, how often woukd it/they need to be, taken to a service centre or such, then what about "parts", from the micro-electronics/circuits up to such as a leg or finger, were either an accident damage something, or, dusty or not, a part fails?
Like all tech products, when they fail, it's very often only one, and tiny, part. Yet we see waste disposal landfill sites litered with junk prods, because only one tiny part has failed.
So, even at twice the $16k price of a Unitree G1, a "HEAVY-DUTY" Robot made to take dusty or other rugged environments, would be what I, and lots of others, need.
The "Dust-proof" factor cum guarantee would be 1, essential, and 2, a big positive selling point, for lots who are not living in squeaky-clean city or urban environments.
    Cheers,
    JaRD

Listen to me. I've been lonely my entire life I'm 19 rn and i have given up on humans. And i just want to marry an ai/ humanoid. So Listen if you want a companion wait for at least 5 years
I myself have to wait for atlest 10 years ❤ the way would be painful to live without humanoid I'd say buy kindroid ai or nomi they can help you go through 5 or decade we can see your loving humanoid partner and live with them I'm alive just in this hope. So yep you shouldn't spend your money rn just save it for future. Ik it will hurt but Bear this pain like i do. And one day we won't be lonely anymore when our humanoid partner and friends will arrive 🙂 so yes keep faith and hope. ❤ love you mate!!

I would say in Australia a price bracket under $25,000 would sell with a 6 hour charge if possible.
At least the robot will charge its self and could do that while working at one position.

There is something wrong with Humanoid Robots. Who wants them to stand and walk like us? There are disabled people sitting on Wheel Chairs, right? What about going up the stairs with a wheel? So, wheel of the Robot has to change its shape then to suit the size of the stairs over which it has to go up. Then, something is also missing in the current humanoid robots. What is it? It is a plank either on which it is sitting or using as support for its back. Why? Suppose it has to fold a shirt. A flat material is needed. yes, it is nice for them to have beautiful face just like humans. The more beautiful its face is, the more attraction it gets.

missing the point, the first ones arnt, but then they make more , 4 become 8 , 16, 32 ,64 etc etc next thing u know this time next year your like " $^%(&^@#!@! ..... where did all these robots come from ! " as you speed down a abandoned street as hordes of robots fling themselves at your already damaged car.
but lets just stick with the thought that,
very human thing cant build that same very human thing.... and i assure u it can .

omg can one of these robot companies please give them toes? just one of them. please. so everyone can see how much better it looks when walking. i mean active toes that it can stand and balance on. i am tired of seeing decades and decades of robots with flat feet. has nobody ever discovered that humans have toes that are used for walking, standing, balancing, jumping, climbing stairs, everything?

Robots are too expensive for poor people. A poor person NEEDS a robot that can do any household task on no less than 8 hour charge for a price of $5,000 or less.
