The only issue with the creation of proprietary technology is that it makes modifications difficult and possibly illegal which only slows development and growth.

It's about dam time! I had this idea many years ago but because I am nobody I didn't know how to get the idea across to people that might build such things. Now incorporating this hydraulic muscles into a working robot and doing it without using up great amounts of energy is another thing. Maybe in a few years we'll have solid state batteries to power up this one. Hanson Robotics and everyone else that wants to mimic human beings should look into this really great idea! I am an inventive person and I have invented a few things but being a nobody doesn't get me noticed. I now have one invention that the prototype was so easily built with off the shelf parts it might be a matter of a short while before we get to a Blade Runner society because my invention has a lot to do with that futuristic setup and being in Silicone Valley should get me noticed!
We are already redundant. Most of what people do is not productive or rewarding work. Humanoid robots will just do those mundane and monotonous tasks that we don’t want to do anyway. Everything will find equilibrium. Overtime there will be a place for all of us.
I didn't see any examples of robots that could pass for human in your video. However I do believe that modeling an android anatomically after a human would be a logical choice. I think they should focus on how and where the human body uses muscles and where it uses tendons and emulate that as much as possible with existing technology.
But WHY😮 and to what end??? Do we really want to do this? I like technical things just as much as the next, but I can't shake the thought that this spells doom for flesh and blood humans. May the God of heaven help us 🙄
The world will always evolve regardless of if you like it or not. First we traveled on horses and then up graded to chariots and then cars and airplanes and now we are stepping into AI robots. It's not unusual it's the natural course of evolution
@irisflow7461 You know, I completely understand what your meaning is. I'm a long time technologists. I'm involved with computer networking and IT hardware and software systems. To a certain extent, some of it is advancement, but what you seem to be missing is that it's not progressing when we humans become increasingly less relevant. In the end, the ones who don't think this through and believe it's a good idea are the very few that will benefit from it. The average person will not have access to this tech unless it's on a pay by the minute basis. So many technological advancements were initially promoted as advancements. Purportedly needed to make our lives easier, healthy, and less expensive. On all accounts, the opposite has happened for the average person. Replace your preprogrammed mental conditioning with a dose of historical reality. We are not and never will be machines. Making an automaton even more lifelike is not wisdom. It's spiritual warfare.
Because we can. We invented art. We drew ourselves on rocks. This is an extension of the same trait. You're fearful. That makes no sense. Humans create and we never stop. It's what we do.
@LuMaxQFPV I'm not fearful at all, but I am cautious. Just because something seems cool and interesting doesn't mean that we should go full force without carefully considering the human implications over time. Movies like Dune and the like were fictional indicators. As I stated before, I am into technology as well, but it is a wise thing to taper this a little. As usual, though, the younger crowd knows better until we're all over a cliff.
What is so great about humans? I find it fascinating people are so afraid they will do what humans do to each other. How do you know this is not what God had planned all along?
Creating robots that look and move like people is just the latest example of the god complex that this species has, there is no need whatsoever for robots to mimic humans except to stroke the creators ego. I'm all for the technology being used for artificial limbs and stuff, but a fully autonomous machine able to think for itself is another thing entirely.
as soon as these things can get up, go to work and purchase stuff from the store to bring home the govt will add a social security # to them and tax them!

Its like saying a skateboard can do a few tricks..then a teenager gets hold of it, now it can jump over a trash can somehow...AI will accelerate intensley when it is working on itself.
What determines skin and eye color. These humanoids are remarkable. Will they one day try to dominate their creators like Mary Shelley's novel :Frankenstein"?
Humans do not walk so smooth. It would fool me into thinking it's a robot with a soul. The first and very real step toword cyborgs is a much older idea than this. From the Ai voice to this video to robots to satellites to traffic lights and cars... Ai is already in control of humanity.
It will definitely still take a while. The thing is, even though we can now talk about robotic animals and robots living with us. Until we are really there, I think a few decades will pass. And by then, we are already dead, and maybe the next generation can see this. I am now in my 30s, I think that stuff is super interesting, but I already feel like, I am too old to really enjoy this. Maybe if I can get to 70, then I may have a chance? But then I am basically already with one foot in the grave, or already there.
The speed of development is increasing so try to fix your health, 30s is the age when aging start happening in negative sense, try to learn about yourself and how you can keep yourself healthy, perhaps we'll crack longevity research in next 2-3 decades and live for centuries to see all future tech and explore vast universe.
This AI may have natural human movement, but it must be trained to perform the tasks humans perform, which will take a long time for each task, there is no reason why it should put perform a human in physical learning.
Robocop is here, it is only time before they integrate parts of a human into these, making them even more flexible and dangerous if they don't take any notice of the Directive by the Creator.
Inaccurate. "Humanoid Robots" is idiot English - it's tautology . The English word Android is from the Greek "Andros" _[man]_ means 'like man" which the factual definition is referring to a mechanical machine that looks like a man, and was used in theatres back in the day and some still exist. In correct Science Fantasy/Fiction, it still means that, a mechanical machine that looks like a man like C3PO. If you learn what the factual etymology to "Robot' is _[from the Czech "Robota"]_ it all makes sense why it's correct to state "Android" not "Humanoid Robot". Also, *****only living creatures are autonomous, sigh.***** So sick and tired of never-ending damn lies by the advertising/marketing industry.

Comments from tyros always highly inaccurate.
It looks like the ankle was finally created to rotate so that the feet are loser, instead of the knee having to lift up and down while the foot took a forward path. Have you checked out the Antarctic crocodile icefish with no red blood cells? Most likely that will be the fluid used in delivering nutrients to the human brain which will be grown inside of a laboratory dish.
did they just mention a big enough synthetic robot to replace cranes ? are they crazy these guys trying to build real life titans or what??
The only issue with the creation of proprietary technology is that it makes modifications difficult and possibly illegal which only slows development and growth.
Some robots look like they're from the series "Futurama".It's a pity that Bender doesn't appear until 3001.
I really hope this tech will be applied to people missing limbs and such. Would be incredible in that field. Not sure if I'll go for a android in the future. I see both the pros and cons kind of equally at this point.
I plan on buying a home robot when they are viable. Rosie!!!
''I Robot'' coming to a place where you are !
One day we won't even be certain if the guy across the hall from our office is an android or a person. I already have doubts now about the guy down the street from me, and the robot revolution has barely begun.
Sounds great , I can use one to do all the chores around the house , cut lawns, clean house make beds , do laundry, I have a list for it charge it up LOL
Why on earth would robots do your dirty work? They do not need you .... They made you redundant ..... You will have no income .... no food ..... You will realize that you did dig your own grave ...
This is so Awesome😁❤💯
It's sorta very exciting and scary at the same time. And ready or not it's COMING.
From Kingsville, Ohio ❤ 😊
Hydraulics? That's terrible. There's a lot of good reasons why everyone making robots are either abandoning hydraulics or not starting with them at all. Terrible reliability, the difficulty of maintenance, and high long term costs are only a few of the reasons.
And the medical training ..or should I say the study of human anatomy 😮excellent work
Would have been nice if they actually showed a real SE01 in the video.
2:35 6:29 This is where you truly shine! Can’t argue with that level of skill. ✨
Wow. Soon we'll get to say: "am I in a dream?..."
How long will it be before you can have an android prosthetics for people that have lost an arm or leg ? Like Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, where he lost his forearm and it was replaced by a prosthetic arm.
How about an ai cat
We are ready. We need all the help we can get. Teach them to negotiate.
Count me in!!! I would love to have a companion bot, to help around the farm and house. Plus having someone to talk to during the day would be nice, as well..
fantasies
The robot is not interested in talking to you ... Why would he? .... And you are not his boss either. The boss of the robot is the elite. Did you not realize that? You will have no job and hence no salary ... and hence you can not buy food. Wake up ...
@@JongJande Robots and AI are not the problem. The problem is the wealthy elite.. They will let humanity die so they can buy another car, yacht, house. If we didn't live in a corporate welfare capitalist society, robots could do the jobs humans don't want to do, or it is not safe to do. But no.... Companies like McDonalds want to replace humans with robots, rather then pay a living wage, for profit..
Tax the rich 75%!!! This is how we can all have healthcare, good education, social programs to help those in need.. And the rich will still be rich!!!
I can't wait already!
Good effort. Still got many many fake traits though.
Boston Dynamics' new Atlas robot has even smoother movements.
Wait till they translate motion capturing for videogame characters to these robots. They're right there.
Robots can do some works and interact with humans to some extent, but will never replace humans because they can't think ànd act like humans. We should classify them as machines imitating humans or humans' friendly servants only.
SUPER SOLIDERS! Think about it who ever has this army is unstoppable
Ai human robots will require too much electricity. Instead of food they need to be recharged constantly
Soon (a few years) they will be selling the kit to assemble your own humanoid robot with AI and artificial skin at home.
Sonny would be proud
Phantasia.
Make that thing jump higher then humans and I’ll be impressed
We are already redundant. Most of what people do is not productive or rewarding work. Humanoid robots will just do those mundane and monotonous tasks that we don’t want to do anyway. Everything will find equilibrium. Overtime there will be a place for all of us.
I didn't see any examples of robots that could pass for human in your video. However I do believe that modeling an android anatomically after a human would be a logical choice. I think they should focus on how and where the human body uses muscles and where it uses tendons and emulate that as much as possible with existing technology.
He looks like he's walking to fire Island. He looks a little light in the metal loafers.
It walks like me trying to look normal after having been on the lash for two days.
I have my doubts about hydraulics. If you use a CNC machine you know how accurate they are. They move by accuators
Great!!!!!
Eat your chips out, Optimus.
The skinny guy who pretends to be an Optimus robot will have to find new work.
Yeah but who wants a C3PO when you can have an R2D2? They still can't make an R2D2.
give it time, they are moving the tech rapidly
The only thing that comes to my mind is Fallout's Synths, and the thought makes this scary.
Creating robots that look and move like people is just the latest example of the god complex that this species has, there is no need whatsoever for robots to mimic humans except to stroke the creators ego. I'm all for the technology being used for artificial limbs and stuff, but a fully autonomous machine able to think for itself is another thing entirely.
it sounds like a catchy idea .
as soon as these things can get up, go to work and purchase stuff from the store to bring home the govt will add a social security # to them and tax them!
@@BlondieHappyGuy these things will decide our fate in a micro-second
@@BlondieHappyGuy far away in computer time or human time? When humans learn something new it takes effect fairly quick, when robots do it it takes effect in milliseconds so saying its all far away is a total random guess. You dont know what young fresh minds will do with each giant leap in tech.
I wouldn’t doubt it at all if they have a robot or two out in the public operating as a person 😮
Humans do not walk so smooth. It would fool me into thinking it's a robot with a soul. The first and very real step toword cyborgs is a much older idea than this. From the Ai voice to this video to robots to satellites to traffic lights and cars... Ai is already in control of humanity.
Cylons.
Ok. Things are heading towards SkyNet's Terminators...!
But then I am basically already with one foot in the grave, or already there.
max 20 years, more like 5-10 years
@@danielchoritz1903 I Agree
The speed of development is increasing so try to fix your health, 30s is the age when aging start happening in negative sense, try to learn about yourself and how you can keep yourself healthy, perhaps we'll crack longevity research in next 2-3 decades and live for centuries to see all future tech and explore vast universe.
Jesus will be here soon. Don’t worry about any of this
You are in your prime! I'm 68 wait until you get to my age!
Two questions. Can it do Kung Fu, and how long before we can combine this with a human being to form a cyborg?
We just need to make a machine that can give birth to humans now. Imagine the lives that could be saved with such technology
Great now let's combine humans with AI
This AI may have natural human movement, but it must be trained to perform the tasks humans perform, which will take a long time for each task, there is no reason why it should put perform a human in physical learning.
Robots will fail due to structure failure while human beings life is an eternal reality. Where you'll live 4-ever is up to you. ❤✝
Can it drive me home after having a few and take the dog for a walk if I’m gone? …and then have dinner ready? 😅
Robocop is here, it is only time before they integrate parts of a human into these, making them even more flexible and dangerous if they don't take any notice of the Directive by the Creator.
"You can't change this, the limit, between us" ;) 💞
We're in trouble when they gain the instinct/desire/see the importance of self-preservation. This will happen after self-awareness.
Does it bother anybody else that it has a cylon light eyes???
Looking forward to the day that we can buy one, but I want one that looks like C3PO, or Fender.
Apparently this will be a world not meant for all of us.
This sounds very similar now to Rossum’s Universal Robots now
Also, *****only living creatures are autonomous, sigh.***** So sick and tired of never-ending damn lies by the advertising/marketing industry.
please make robots that all in capable of doing house hold chores of any kind
Great advancement in robotic abilities.
Interesting...Hydrolics sounds like high maintenance costs to me though
I don’t care how it moves , as long as it can get my beer
Im sorry but that looks anything but smooth, Darpa's older robots look smoother than that
