Fabulous playing! The euphonium is a wonderfully dynamic instrument being able to play high with precision. The tuba just does it for me! So crisp and deep! Love it!!
When I hear Stars and Stripes I think of two things. In an old style tented circus if you ever heard it you needed to gather your belongings, gather your children, verify that the nearest exit was unblocked and calmly without running GET THE HELL OUT. It was Merle Evens's emergency signal to warn all show personnel that something was drastically wrong chosen because every musician could play it from memory and everyone could recognize it. Other shows adopted it as well. The other thing my mind drags up from my childhood: the ending of Sing Along with Mitch. " be kind to your web footed friends for a duck can be somebody's mother. Be kind to your friends in the swamp.... and if you think that this is the end - well it is" That is all I remember, I was about 6.
@@cavalcadeofbobs3559 Bass tuba range typically overlaps that of the euphonium by quite a bit. Standard brass band range for a bass tuba extends to Eb4, but most players are good for quite a bit more than that.
My 5 years experience on the tuba seems completely dwarfed after hearing the skill of these players. Didn't know a tuba could play some of these parts.
I’d say it’s a little harder because the “1st” Euphonium has a higher register to go to and plus it’s got that little beginning part that the clarinets and flutes play. Sure the original part has a dumb 16th note rhythm but once you learn it it’s really boring. It’s relatively the same for the “2nd” euphonium but the “1st” is a little harder especially on the registers
It was so good. Sooo good. Until the end when they decided to cut out the absolutely incredible euphonium counter melody in favor of a sloppy piccolo line? That made me so sad.
Nope, the euphonium solo was poorly executed. One of the tubas should have done the piccolo solo. We performed this as a high school marching band on a football field, and 4 of our tuba players performed the piccolo solo wonderfully. And loud enough to be heard for a large audience. It can be done.

If the Marine Band's low brass are THIS good, you can only how good the rest of the band is. It's a scary thought.
I am not scared, I am hungry for MORE!
My daughter’s good friend plays french horn for this group.
And that’s why I want to be a part of it.
These are some of the best musicians in the country
Always wondered what a low brass “Stars and Stripes Forever” would sound like. Love it!
Terrific! The piccolo part came off really well.
I like this better than the full band. Usually it is very jumbled and noisy but here you can get a better sense of the music.
Excellent playing from this quartet. Articulation, dynamic contrasts and sheer musicality from first bar to last. Thank you for posting.
Wow, just wow!! (from a flute and piccolo player!)

Wow John Philip Sousa would salute them!
学生の時ユーフォやってました。この曲も演奏しました。朝礼後の行進曲として立ちっぱなしで演奏したのを覚えています。
低音楽器最高‼️ユーフォ最高‼️
何度も聴いています。
Excellent! Best performance I ever heard!
0:34 how is that tuba sounding like a euphonium?? it sounds amazing!!
Well the Euph is just a tiny younger tuba😂(I’m a euphonium player in 10th grade)
Might be an Eb tuba, they sound a lot warmer and darker
@@Pupper626its an f I think, since they are more common
The high range of tubas can sound remarkably euph-like. It's a shame it isn't used more often

Oh! Wonderful .. very great 😊.. Thank you The United States Marine Band for this excellent sounds of music I adore this
I had a lovely time singing the Piccolo part with you.
absolutely phenomenal
1:45 OMG their trilling high notes like a piccolo
I've been looking for a performance of this sheet music for a long long time! Thanks!
I always thought the other instruments were superfluous ;-) What can you NOT do with a euphonium?!
I agree. I would have normally assumed the bass notes were bass pizzicatos. An excellent performance 👍

Perfection in it's full capacity. Semper Fidelis ♥️💥🔥
Yes!! If you post a tuba quartet video every day I would be happy 😅 semper fi!
Браво, звучание чистенькое чёткий звук
good sound !!!!!
ピッコロの所もユーフォでやってて凄い!!!
何度も観てしまいます!
Fabulous.
Wonderful quartet!
genial, gostei demais sensacional!!!!!!
Absolutely brilliant.
That was great.
Wow. I'm gobsmacked.
If Sousa could, he would stand up and applaud, long and loud.
This is wonderful
素晴らしい!!
Fabulous. Who says we need reeds and percussion. If the Brits can do with their brass bands so can we.
Ummmmm, idk if you realize, but it’s called the President’s Own Marine Band… they’re located in the US, not the UK…
@@kevinzhang5135 maybe you didn't read the comment properly?
But I like the textures if the woodwinds, though outdoors it's kind of hard to hear them.
parrrrrrlaaaa👏👏👏👏👏
Good!!
i'm trying to learn this by ear on trombone and it's super fun
Haha gl
Amazing
tight playing!
Euphonium + piccolo = Euphonolo
Браво!
When the Tuba player REALLY wanted to play the trombone melody and counter-melody.... :-)
God, that's great! dt
素晴らしい、懐かしい!
Vive les États-Unis
And thank you to our cousins in Liberty, the people of France!
Bravo
Excellent!!! I just found funny hearing a piccolo part being played in a tuba.
Aside from the piccolo solo, this seems easier than the original euphonium part

It's a tragedy the recording can't pick up the overtones
No other country on this Earth has anything that compares to the United States Marine Corps Band.

Lmao, "poorly executed". What would you consider to be good execution, if not this??
loud does not = good
@@Pierre777-he just envy the solo was taken by euphoniumist
