Skateboarding may be one of those few things that can actually bring more of the people of this world another step closer to one another because skateboarding is freedom, regardless of the surroundings.

This vid totally blew my mind... The contrast between those ruined buildings and these skating kids just trying to still be kids in such a mess is trully mind taking!!! S/O Sk8tin' Kabul Kids.

You are making a huge difference for these kids. I hope they feel some sort of feeling close to the freedom I felt when I was a kid riding my Duane Peters board and getting rad.

This movie is so touching and REAL! I just returned to the UK from Afghanistan. There are still so many issues which need to be addressed. I'm proud of these kids for finding a passion within such a situation. Peace.

I can’t imagine myself at all without skateboarding and who would I be without it, all my friends, hobbies, clothing style and choice of music, it’s all thanks to skateboarding and when I'm seeing these guys who skate no matter what, tears well up in my eyes, 'cause only suckers and morons wants to wars, all normal dudes have been riding boards for a long time! No war!

  • @mrjason182

Videos like this should be seen and made more often. It really gives the impression that kids in Afghanistan are no different to kids over here, they just want to live a happy life like people here do, they don't all want to just grow up and drive planes into buildings as most Americans seem to believe.

Really nice to see... there is always peace and love even in a war torn country.. Skating definately makes you feel free.. I especially liked the courage of the little girl.. standing up when even her own father is against her feeling her freedom.. They must love skating even more than us who can skate freely here in the west... Bellisimo.. SinghSkater76..

People die all the time here. I know it because I am in Afghanistan. Im just saying its nice to see people do things they want to, hobbies that interest them, instead of having their culture reject their interests for them. Its about freedom of choice in the darkest of places.

that empty pool they were at was built for the olympics but ended up being used as an execution place for the taliban , they used to hang people from the diving platforms. so nice to see liberated children playing on western toys there now lets hope thier future continues to brighten for them.
