Skateboarding in Afghanistan - The idea sounds crazy, doesn't it?
There are now over 750 skateboarders in Afghanistan - and nearly half of them are girls. How did this even happen? In a place where the female literacy rate is only 13%, where girls' access to education, let alone sports, is barely existent... The Skateistan girls are doing it all. Watch this video and learn the incredible story of skateboarding in Afghanistan.

People have Skateboarding all wrong. Society believes we are just a bunch of degenerates that go and ruin peoples property ect. But we're more than that. Skaters are some of the most generous, heartfelt people on this planet. And the way society is these days it's important to keep true friendship and love alive. I hate the way we are perceived as vandals.
My mom thinks that I'm a vandal because I skate, she just about got me my new board in the summer last year but, now my brother has one too and she's getting used to the idea of me skating again. I mentioned skating in college and all the guys looked at me like 'vandal, you're a bad influence and you're female.' So I gave the 'get outta my business look'. I mention the friendships we have as skaters and everyone just shuts up, society's definitions don't define us. >~> sorry, I ranted a bit o.o..
Cus little punks curse and act like assholes to people ruining our name, making us all seem like assholes. Guy came out and asked can I leave I said sure church is starting so I will leave parklot , he seen how normal I was with respect he said I can roll around when no one is there basically, cause he thought I woulda been an asshole about it but was not at all so he was like wow this is weird lol.. Point is there are too many punks and posers who talk shit to other skaters when new or not and ruin this sports future, its sad. Respect all skaters and people property. I'm all flat so I don't need to ruin owners rails ect loll.

my partner is afghan and me spanish. If i will travel to there inn sha allah i would to like visit these place and i will with a sate i will give to my partner sister if she likes :D My sister go with no skate but more dangerous and big called "LONG" as like skate but more big and him bfriend with electrical skate, they are so good on it!

This is soooooo good...This is tooooooo good. Hands down the greatest thing I've seen on TH-cam since god knows when (and I watch plenty). In my mind this really is the ultimate purpose of media, it being used to highlight what bonds rather than what breaks.
