Victory rolls are definitely one of the toughest aspects to vintage hairstyling, so don't give up!! I remember seeing tutorials on them back when I started and being like, "Wait.. WHAT", and they looked nothing like what I saw when I tried. But keep practicing!!

My hait is super long, waist length. So gar ive been able to do the doube victory rolls woth a bit of cussing. Towards the end if the week when the rest of my set is falling and just slightly wavy, i do the rolls and pull the rest back into a bun (i want to do a gibson roll but its just too long to do it :( ) i want to try the 3 rolls (probably witha. Ton of cussing) ans then put the rest insort of a reverse milkmaid in the back by draping the braids along the bottom edge and overlapping the way we do milkwaids on the top front, to mimic the shape of a gibson roll. Wish me luck, ill probably have to do it a few times to get it right.

Fun tutorial! I have really thick hair and I have to use a curling iron to get my rolls started otherwise they look like spiky weapons.
Spiky Victory Rolls would totally be my superhero Weapon of Choice 😂
Little tip on them is that curling them (like with an curlingiron) makes them fall in a roll, so you just have to fix it.That made my life 300x easier. haha

"doesn't take you too long "been trying to do a victory roll on my short hair for the past half an hour
sadly my hair is either freshly washed or incredibly greasy and equally slippery. and Im pretty sure im allergic to dry shampoo
You can use corn flower instead of dry shampoo. I picked this tip up from somewhere on the internet and it sounds weird but it really helps.
I also used to have hair that gets greasy fast, but your scalp compensates the amount of oil with how often you wash it. The less you wash, the less your scalp will produce that much greasiness.
I now wash it once a week instead of every other day. It can be done!
I do mind simile except for I don't use black bobby pins on my hair I either use Auburn bobby pins or some red bobby pins that are just black bobby pins that I spray painted red that way they're not as visible.

Do you use henna and a box red hair color for your hair? I saw the video of you using henna, but I wasn't sure if you used all henna or used a box dye along with it. I like the color you have it's a nice natural looking copper red color. I am interested in using henna as well, but I am guessing you probably have to lighten your hair first with the box red color and then put the henna over it??
I use both, haha. I use henna once in a blue moon and once it starts growing out, I use box dye on my roots, since I still haven't figured out how to get henna to stick to my "virgin" hair. You won't have to lighten it first unless your hair is darker! Mine is naturally a dirty blonde so henna works really well with it :)
