Back at it again with makeup through the decades. But this time we are doing a hair tutorial! I love the 40's so much. This look was inspired by a hairdo from The Notebook! It is a beautiful style that can be worn to this day!

Hello Brittany! My wife and I watched this video several times. We spent Christmas morning working through the process (with less than ideal tools), and it was a lot of fun! I have to do a wet set because my hair won't hold a curl from an iron. There wasn't electrical curling irons back then, either. They had literal irons from an hearth.

How long did this take you? I am super inexperienced so want to give myself longer time than you probably did but need to do a retro look for stage makeup and would like to do this. Thanks for the tutorial, you explained things really well!

The reason I’m here is that I’ve really loved watching 1940s beauty programs. I love the fashion and the style of the 40s. It’s so pretty in my opinion. I believe that others will probably be very disapproving.

It's a pretty look, but I want to point out these aren't 1940s victory rolls. You made some lovely large pin curls, but victory rolls are entirely different. Overall, this is a more "1940s inspired" look than an authentic style. Anyway, looks nice!
