The Vocalist is Matt Heafy. He is also a TH-camr. seems like a very cool guy. Would probably do an interview with him... Until he hears that you will just lose it... :P lol But seriously, he would probably do an interview thing...

Their drummer Alex Bent is also very active on TH-cam and social media. There's lots of cool behind the scenes tour stuff and drum play throughs on his channel. He may be up for an interview also. Seems like a really down to Earth guy in his vids.
Matt is an incredibly cool dude. Definitely the kind of guy that enjoys talking about Music, Trivium stuff, life, things in general. Very approachable dude (although, I’ve never gotten the chance to meet him. I’m basing that off of interviews, twitch, and his social media outlets). It’d be very fucking cool to see him do an interview with you guys.

A modern metal masterpiece imo
I‘m 23 now and a Metalhead since I was 12 years.
As someone who always was the quiet kid and the outcast in school, never had much friends, I delved more and more into the realms of heavy metal.
And what I have to say is that metal probably saved me from going insane.
It‘s just such passionate and honest music for me.
I grew up in a small village, where the church has very high impact on the people, certainly not good kind of influence.
So I‘m normally very hateful (not the right word, as it is very powerful) against all kinds of organized religion, I personally think religion should always be something personal.
To come to my point:
Your channel showed me, that there will always be open minded people that make good points and explain what they believe in without shoving their beliefs down people‘s throats.
Great concept, this fucked up world needs more people like you, it would definetively a better place.
So thanks for your content, I really learnt a lot from christianity, when you explain things and it just shows, how misunderstood it is (religion in general).

P.S.:
I would really love a reaction to Nevermore‘s Heart collector, I‘m having a very complicated love-life right now and this song really helps me get ghrough all this, such great lyrics, Warren Dane (R.I.P., he passed away) was such an underrated singer and lyricist.

One of my favorites by Trivium!
Shogun by Trivium is one of the most uniquely produced albums in all of Metal.
The guitar tone is raw. It's not overly produced or sitting behind layers of effects to be polish perfect and I find that to be rare nowadays.
They are also consistent on their format.
They write each song to have sectional riffs, three vocal types, and a dedicated guitar solo from both Corey and Matt.
It's rare to find something as consistent as this, Matt's vocals tearing through the rhythm guitars with cleans, yells, and growls is something that has only been done in Shogun.
Then it transitions to a riff for the solo and you can feel Corey and Matt's tendinitis flaring up as they shred through those sequence of notes with a combination of 16th note speed picking and sweeping arpeggios at light speed. Then a breakdown where you get to hear Matt roaring like a lion over some of the gnarliest most chunkiest 7 string guitar riffs one can play before the song falls into the grace of a melody that is the chorus before it concludes.
This is what I call a Masterpiece.

I actually saw Trivium live at The Magic City Music Hall in Binghamton Ny before Trivium truly broke out and become so popular and those guys as individuals are just truly amazing and very down to earth...my favorite song by Trivium has got to be The Deceived off their first major album..anyways congratulations to u guys on expecting a new child into this world I'll say a prayer for everything to go smoothly for u guys thanx again for the amazing video/review God bless u both and ur family/families

Finally!! Ive been watching you guys for only a little while and i finally found this! Trivium is great, that whole album if im not mistaken is based off of japanese myths, monsters and of course the samurais! One of my absolute favorite trivium albums. And congrats with the child on board!

Now that you've done Shogun, you need to do the title track off the previous album, The Crusade. 8 minutes of instrumental brilliance.
Trivium is imo one of the perfect gateway bands into the metal scene. Their catalog alone covers many sides of metal and tell so many fascinating stories. Can't wait to see you two do more from them.

One of my favorite bands, as you heard why. Their albums are always different from the previous. Usually, every band has that one album that isn't so great. They haven't had that album yet. They always impress me. Do more, please. It doesn't matter which one.

What you said about them being in the zone for this song can really be applied to the whole Shogun album honestly, it's absolutely their most musically complex and progressive album.
Finally Trivium masterpiece. I remember when they played this song live and whole venue knells before.
The song Shiroyama by Sabaton is about the events that The Last Samurai are based on.

this was theyre, in my opinion best album. everything is tracked absolutely perfectly and his vocals before his vocal blow out was sooooooooo fucking smooth. travis killed the kit on what i think was his last album?

The Shogun album was definitely them at their peak. I suggest reviewing more stuff from it
the video is great but there's one little error: the code of honor of the samurai is not called shogun but bushido.
Check out Takashi Miike's 2010 samurai film '13 Assassins.' It is a remake of Eiichi Kudo's '13 Assassins' from 1963. There is a 45 minute battle sequence in the 2010 film! Yes, you read that correctly, a 45 minute battle sequence!

"Bushido" is the samurai code of honour.
"Shogun" is the military ruler of Japan, at least classically.
I believe the Prime Minister of Japan still holds the honorary title of "Shogun" . It doesn't have the same connotation of "Mighty Warrior General" as it once did, I believe.

12:57 "this is the shit" is very correct, as was the explosion gesture at 13:53 haha. This track at the end is just pure metal indulgence. Shogun was probably one of the greatest metal records of the late 2000's or perhaps even the whole 2000-2010 decade, truly awe inspiring music. I gotta shout out a request for Architects again simply because I know you guys will absolutely love them for their lyrics and topics covered, even though you may not agree with all of their views I think you will appreciate their commitment to making real music that actually connects to people & makes them think, of course their music is excellent too. :P

Shogun is an amazing album, i havent came accross many perfect metal albums but for me shogun is pretty spot on, also sin and the sentance is a masterpiece as well.
