Wow that seems like a lot of training 65 miles a week with 2 leg days. I gotta get on your level! With luck I will run my first Marathon on January 14th at age 41. Thank u for the carb advice and the supplement advice
Agreed, what did you do in between those workouts for recovery is more interesting. Also, how did you find this much time each day (and total each week) to train?
Probably making sure to do only one major thing per day, or at least doing upper body lifting at a different point in the day vs a run. Sleep being the biggest thing, a l regularly healthy diet, and a good and peaceful and non-stressful life
Killer marathon man. I'm currently a very new runner at 50 miles per week. How hard to you hit legs? I'm a firmer 535lb squatter in competition n I like to train them real hard. But it seems counter productive.
@@stel104 he might be a lifting machine but that doesn’t translate to endurance training. He could definitely be training that many miles at a very slow pace totally. If he’s “running” these miles then it’s probably making his gains worse Mortal of my rant is, if you’re running/jogging 50 miles a week, that’s 7 miles a day, you’re not “new to running” you are a full on a runner
@@GlowingWalrus yea basically what I said, most athletes aren’t very new to running seeing as how some soccer players can run up to 7 miles or more a game, but he could be an athlete moving over to running
How do you get through strength training and running without the build up of lactic acid in your legs? I can run for 6 miles but I do a leg day at the gym and I’m out for a week
Ideally you should space out the running and leg day. Personally I like to aim for an 8 hour separation period. In terms of lactic acid, you can try lowering the intensity or foam/stick consistency
Leg day is always like this. I’ve focused on leg strength training for 6 months and got my squat up to 405lbs. I would train legs at least once a week and occasionally twice a week. Each week my recovery got faster and eventually would only have a 1 day squat hangover. All im saying is, you need to focus on squat for a few months and put running more on the back burner if you want that strength.
@@awoosh6121yea my biggest issue is leg days don’t let me run because I’m out for so long and I feel like I’m being less productive and then when my run again it takes a little while to get my pace back up I’m training to hopefully run my first marathon next year and I know strength training is important it just takes me out for so long

That is insane averaging 6 minute miles! on my long runs i do about 3-5 miles. And during the week i do 1 leg day and 2 15-25 minute runs i quit smoking cigarettes after 15 years in january my goal is to run a half marathon by the fall
600 GRAMS OF CARBS!!!! THATS AMAZING. My doc put me on keto and my carb levels are normally less than 30-40. Lost 100lbs on it now I'm trying to incorporate exercises next
Priorities my man. I hit those same peak weeks and if this is what you like and want, you will make it work with a daily run. Out of 24 hours the one hour run a day isn’t the problem. Will say a solid morning routine can help A LOT. If you get the run in at the morning before kids wake up and going to work, it makes everything easier
My coach for high school cross country, idk the exact time, but I know he averaged around 5:05 every mile for the marathon. His name is Jerod Broadbooks and you can look him up. He got to the Olympic trials not too long ago
Eeeks 3000mg of sodium. Is that per 1L? Depends on the dilution. If it is per L most begin to experience GI symptoms at 1800mg. Precision Hydration 1500mg is optimal - the night before and 90 minutes before the race.

Why do many marathon runners never run past 20 miles for their long runs? I would think running at least 36-30 miles for their long run would be better.
They’re only running 26.2 miles. You don’t run past that distance because then they’d have to slow down their pace from marathon pace and it would be counter productive I feel like. If I’m gonna run a HM I’m not gonna go run 15-20 miles.
No wonder why i finished in 5 hours 2 minutes last year my lack of preparation. You'd think I'd have learnt my lesson this year since I'm doing my second marathon September 15th but I'm less prepared than last year physically although I'll be surprised if i don't get under 5 hours

Amazing work ! So inspiring
