They need to manufacture a larger number of rifles, and put effort into getting more local FFL’s to stock them. DSA’s products are great but too hard to find.

Yea; they must make like 50 at a time then take a huge break lol. They're never in stock anywhere.
Yea they all look great but with the price of ammunition there's no such thing as recreational shooting anymore. There's no way i'm buying a weapon and spending a dollar a round to feed it. Hell I won't even spend the sixty cents around for 556 anymore. Those designations are reserved for emergency situations only.
Finally, metal magazines! Got my FAL last year and had no idea about the short supply of mags.

I purchased a c a i fal in the early 2000s and I absolutely love the thing. 500 bucks back then. It is never let me down

I really want a FAL but the lack of steel mags are a big problem.
As soon as I picked up my FAL last year, all of the steel original mags completely disappeared. I’m still stuck with a single 30 rounder, I haven’t been able to find an original.

Same here! FAL and G3 have always been my favorite rifles. If only FAL mags were as plentiful and cheap as G3 mags. Great news that DSA is making steel mags now!

Sad that the G Series guns never became widely available, but that new Cuban model looks just like a South African R1, which is one of my favorite FAL variants. The combo of wood stock and plastic handguard was always classy

@@John-ro3vu Yes, I found one that was auctioned online, but can’t find any reference to them being commercially available. Perhaps they just auctioned that gun as a one off and scrapped the plan?

I very much desire the folding stock, 16.25 in barreled FAL (commando). Tragically, FALs have been prohibited in our country since 1995 (for no good reason). My grandfathered FALs are safe Queens ☹.
When making retro copies, DSA might consider the Canadian C1. These are very rare in circulation as the govt wouldn't allow the sale of mil surplus rifles. The ones that people obtained were former police rifles (usually from the OPP - Ontario Provincial Police). The C1 is unique in its rotating disc aperture rear sight and cut back body cover with a built in mag charger. Canada was the first country outside of Belgium to adopt the FAL as its issued mil rifle.

DSA good folks. Ordered a STG 53 euro with the german/ austrian flash hider bipod which came with the metal fore arm covers. Bought belgian plastic fore arm covers.
It was a long wait ordered about a year before obummer was placed in...nothing like a FAl. Have shot M-1 garand, M-16a1, M-1 carbine, K-98, #4 mk1,1927 thompson, 1921 thompson, M 3a1, FAL used my 0ver 90 freeworld nations as their main battle rifle. Excellent.

When are they going to release 30 round magazines...
They run into the problem of the spring tension being able to support that many rounds. This is the reason why the AK-47 magazine is curved. For whatever reason I don't believe a curved magazine works in these or I think I've seen them and they just don't like to run well. It's sort of like the Browning BAR with that caliber it's just better to keep it a 20 round mag for reliability
The SR 25 holds 25 of .308 I believe. Whoever manufactures that mag (magpul? I’m not sure) could make one for the FAL and HK91. May not be big demand for it though.

The DSA 30 round magazines I bought several years ago work better than the steel 20s they were making at the same time, which were about equivalent to the Korean 20s for reliability. Maybe not 100% on the 30s, but close enough for range use.
Glad I stocked up on new L4 BREN mags back when they were cheap. They run just fine. 🤠
good job figuring out Steel FAL magazines... which have been made all over the damn world, DSA.
FAL mags have always been non existent because literally no one mass produced them. This is pretty much the first time FAL mags are going to be even remotely available
@@theGhost_141 I'm not sure how adept you are on your history, but no. Dozens of countries produced them. I'm making fun of DSA because they tried before a fucked up what people from the 1950s mastered.

@@cm2973The original FAL mags were made with more dies than modern manufacturing. Also, if they did make them the way FN did, they would cost closer to $75 each due to the additional dies.
That said, I hope the mags they are making now will be reliable without modification.

I love my two DSA FALs. I have one 16" rifle and a pistol folder. Great stuff! I also have a Clinton Era Imbel with the 'sporter' stock and an Israeli Hammer type.
I lucked out years ago and picked up a few 30rd steel mags and have several 20rd steel mags as well.
If DSA would sell wood stocks and grips I'd buy them in a heartbeat. I'm sure a lot of others would too.

They do sell wooden type c stocks and wood pistol grips. No handguards sadly.

Thank god for ambi controls; have had a DSA ambi magazine release on my IMBEL FAL for years, but was waiting ages for at least an ambi selector. That and a bolt release is gonna make my life so much easier as a wrong handed shooter lol.

According to the rumors I have heard the G series was delayed due to to issues finding a wood working outfit that could produce the volume needed as well as the quality needed. I can't verify that, it's just what I heard.
Love DSA. I have an SBR OSW 11 Inch. I've dealt with their customer service a few times as well as using their online store, I've always had a good experience. Glad we have a true battle rifle company that make quality stuff stateside.

Love the FAL! The Battle Rifle of the free world! Glad DSA has steel Magazines in the pipeline. It's ridiculous that after the Assault Weapons Ban we could not import the huge amount of FAL Magazines available from around the world

Bought an Imbel gear logo receiver from DSA back when they were a mail order business in shotgun news. It's a Springfield Armory SA-4800 match receiver that I put an excellent STG58 kit on. Beautiful rifle. I also picked up one of their 50.42 rifles. The workmanship is excellent. I'll probably order a Cuban rifle next. Over the last 35 years, I've picked up over 100 20 round mags and a dozen 30 round bren mags I modded to work then refinished them. The Fal and G3 are my favorite platforms. Thanks for the great video!
They should do a FNC or FN CAL. Intermediate cartridge rifle would do sell good.
I've seen an AR/FAL hybrid. The FNC would be a nice touch
Whole different tooling and manufacturing process... not really their focus at the moment
Pindad is importing an FNC, there probably would not be a market for two producers, and DSA would have to invest heavily to manufacture a completely different rifle. I was hoping for something like the Imbel SAR-4800 rifles that Springfield imported back in the day, but they said they didn't want to invest in it as it would be a large number of primary components.
The guys at DSA---if they do a pin and weld they should use a key-mo muzzle device so people can use their suppressors!!
I chopped the barrels on my FALs down to 17.5 inches 20 years ago. Best thing I ever did. They handle so much better with the short barrel. 🤠

I must say the quality control of the DSA SA 58 is the best quality control of any rifle I have ever seen in 67 yrs. These rifles are built like tanks and are CNC milled from a solid billet of stainless steel. Not many people know about them but if you put one in their hands and let them examine it for themselves they will say the same thing. Just ask anyone who owns one how well made their rifles are made.

We want forged receivers!
They offer/ offered forged type 1s. Last time I checked they were still in stock. They are around $200 higher than cast and seem to be selling slowly.

The only thing that would make me interested in getting a DSA FAL is a $1300 maximum price tag.
$2000 for a rifle chambered in an increasingly expensive cartridge is not economically viable for the overwhelming majority of the market.
I would like to see a version that uses stripper clips like the Canadian fal.
Just give me my old R3 from my SAP I.S.U days and i`ll be a happy man...
A curved 30 - like the one featured after 5-minute mark - that actually works and doesn't cost $100 a piece would be nice. Magazines that actually work in general would be nice.
Manufacturing reliable FAL mags is not an easy task! DSA did state they will make 30rd mags down the road, most likely straight ones
@@thefalguy9848 - they had the straights. I had the misfortune of buying them. I exchanged them for 20-round mil-surps.

Production of metal mags ended after the company who did the stamping went out of business.
The mag listings on the website are mainly sold out.

The Inch and the Metric FALs are very different from a manufacturing perspective. They would need a whole new production line to make them. I don't see them doing that. It would be nice, however, if they made Trigger, hammer, and sear packs for the SLR.
DSA makes good rifles, they have a great customer service as well.

Well, DSA is releasing steel mags for the FAL. And no, the rifle is not designed to take AR10 mags.
Historically, we had tons of cheap mags to buy.
I wish they made a rail handguard for the full length FALs.

DSA, Where is the 25, 30 rd FAL mags? Been waiting 2 + years. The short barrel FAL is a hard hitting truck gun! 1 shot will stop an engine. I want the sling swivels.

I bought a quad rail OSW forend from DSA just as quad rails were going out of fashion. It sat unbuilt for several years, while DSA replaced all the quad rails with MLOK in their product lineup. Eventually, a few years ago, I finally built it, and now quad rails are cool again! The only thing I'd say about a pin-and-weld though is I'd rather have a Surefire adapter.

@@callsigncoyote7931 Once it's P&W with something you don't want, it's less appealing, because you need to cut the barrel and then add a barrel extension, not just the desired muzzle device. I would prefer to start with a 16" or 13.7" without a stock. With the 16", you could put a stock on it and keep it as a rifle, or have the barrel shortened. 13.7" wouldn't need to be shortened. Any of those configurations could be left un-P&W-ed and used with an arm brace as long as 2021R-08F enforcement remains enjoined.

This company made 30 round steel magazines for the FAL, then out of nowhere discontinued them? That seems to be one of the major downsides of most 308 battle rifle platforms (G3, M14, FAL, AR10) Limited to 20 rd mags besides drum mags that are unwieldy and prohibitively expensive. Why not just make 30 rounds the standard across the board, a nice round number that makes a lot of sense.
@darud3sandst0rm I know, and promag makes 30 and 40 round mags for AR10 as well (but those seem to get horrible reviews everywhere I looked) but by and large, the standard capacity of 308 platforms is 20 rds. It would just be nice if the reputable manufacturers like magpul and lancer started making 30 rd mags. There's definitely the market for them, they'd sell like hotcakes without a question

30rd 308 might be the same length as 40rd 556 mags. Might be a at the point of uncomfortable to aim from weight
They should make an option for QD on the side of the stock and make plastic Mlock handgaurds.

Yes please. I own 2 and it looks like I'm going to own a third now. One question; they're bringing mags to market-as opposed to? Who makes all the rest of the fal mags you see all over the place? And I thought dsa already made mags, did they not? Also could you make some stocks with a shorter length of pull by chance? These were obviously made for 6'4 British lads lol. And lastly, any plans to recreate the 556 FNC by chance?
I just wish they would make their new DSA adjustable folding stock standard instead of this metal one.

Cast steel receivers. They did market some forged ones, but it seems the market of people who want forged don't want to pay for it. I don't work at DSA, so I don't know their reasons, but a common complaint is they are already so expensive. Forged receivers will add another $200 onto msrp.
That said, I really wish they would release a type 3 forged receiver for building and on a production rifle.
About damn time with the mags. It's been prohibitive for most to want to buy due to the lack of mags

If you want other calibers, take a look at Vandenberg Custom out of Texas. They do special FALs.
I've owned 2 dsa FALs...... neither was reliable.....they look cool though.

@@thefalguy9848 failures feed, double feeds, bolts locking in battery and i had to rest the butt on the ground and use my foot on the changing handle....... both were brand new, maybe they needed a break in period? Maybe i just had bad mags? .....i played with the gas, it didn't help.
That just the nature of an FAL. That’s why Israel went with the Galil.
Do the mags work reliably yet? Are the receivers cut properly yet to allow the use of surplus mags and parts?
If just be happy if they made a FAL that worked

Is the qc any better? Ive been wanting a fal, hell i have plenty of fal magaziens (because i have RFB) but i heard bad things about dsa fal especially qc issues

I have a DSA Isreali from the last batch of kits they had. It runs fine. Any company will have qc issues. If you have an issue, send it back to DSA for them to fix. I have dealt with customer service and they are mainly pleasant. I have never had to send a rifle back though. I used their parts to rebuild a stripped lower and didn't have much trouble. One pin was slightly longer, by like 2mm, than it needed to be, and they accidentally shipped me the wrong trigger guard.

Why not making FAL in different calibers? Since I already have FAL in 308
because it's not that easy and requires new tooling. And the market is probably not that big considering there are so many other 5.56mm pattern rifles out there

With all the FALs they've been making, why haven't they bothered making any FNCs? Pindad has already beaten them to the curb on that one!
because an FNC requires completely different blueprints and tooling than just another FAL variant. I played with the PINDAD FNC and was not impressed at all.

They can't, that's simply an FAL thing. It's a rear locking bolt and a light barrel. Even original FN produced examples have vertical string.
