Absolutely love these guys. One thing I would do differently (more of a tweak really) is a thin layer of PVA after the blue but before the crackle paint.
I sometimes do the PVA, if it's important to maximise the spread on the crackle, but it depends on what I'm going for :) Really glad you've enjoyed them, Rob. They've been a lot of fun!
