Jonathan, your guest illustrates the huge obstacle Ukraine has in insisting that Ukrainians and Russians are WAY DIFFERENT. It is a denial of reality. Most Ukrainians have Russian relatives. Most Russians have Ukrainian relatives. The countries have been thoroughly intermixed for three centuries. They watch the same movies, love the same music, have endured the same hardships, have the same fatalistic sense of humor, search for the same грибы, love the same Orthodox Church. Banderites can insist "кацап не брат" or imply that Russians are Untermenschen or "orks", but once you get outside of Volyn or Lviv or Ivano-frankivsk that Third Reich stuff rings hollow. Most Ukrainians know in their hearts that Russians ARE their sisters and brothers. Ukrainians also suspect that when they eventually reject the EU's LGBT program, or stop sacrificing men, that Ukraine will probably become a pariah and she might want to возращаеться домой.
If the Ukrainians love Russia, why have the Ukrainian soldiers (many of them Russian-speakers) killed more than 300,000 Russian invaders? Conversely, why have Russian invaders raped thousands of Russian-speaking Ukrainian women?
So anyone who doesn't want the Russian world is a Banderite or Nazi? Many Irish people have relatives in England but that doesn't mean they want to be part of the English world. How do you people get so easily manipulated? Belgium used to be part of the Netherlands and I'm sure many have relatives on the other side of the border, but Belgium isn't being invaded by Dutch troops to make them part of the Dutch world.
@@stefansekulic7903, Here is a clip of a Ukrainian military funeral with full Third Reich regalia, including swastika helmets.....th-cam.com/users/clipUgkxPmwo2N3qzpk9n4fQ8JwDmeOnnEOsuHfh?si=MPQC8oVmxUCUFlpS I am certain that MOST normal Ukrainians would be horrified to see such an abomination. Not so in Lviv and in other parts of old Galicia. 🙁 Many people there think the wrong side won WWII. Ukraine's fatal error was to let those people infiltrate the central government and broadcast their hatred. Russia was content to let those people hang out in the west and have their little remembrances. But when the US injected those people into Kyiv and tried to remake Ukrainian society in that image: Bandera birthday marches, shrinkwrapping gypsies to lampposts, fining shopowners for speaking Russian, saying they would invade Crimea, become a missile launching pad for NATO, etc. THAT not only was seen as casus belli by Putin, but by most normal Russians.
Great story about a woman why left Mariupol, and now goes between Mariupol and Saint Pitersburg. why isn't she coming to live in Ukraine? isn't that telling? And there are over a million of people like that, who have flown from ukraine to russian because of war. voluntarily. and they are not coming beck to ukraine... i wonder why? - no I actually don't.
Those are the Muscovite migrants shipped to Ukraine in millions during the Muscovite occupation in order to replace the Ukrainians murdered in three genocides of 1921, 1932 and 1946. Most of them hate everything Ukrainian hysterically and thus are returning back to Muscovy, as simple as that.
You clearly misheard. She was referring to a Russian woman who moved to Mariupol from St Petersburg. Subsequently, Mariupol was not what she was expecting and now she is moving backwards and forwards between St Petersburg and Mariupol. The only thing about it that is telling is that the Russian government must be desperate in its attempts to ship Russian citizens into occupied Ukrainian territory.
Of course, and the earth is flat, right. Seems you believe every trash that you hear on RT. Please move ahead, in this channel the audience is educated.
200,000 people brought to Mariupol? This is a lie. This lady is crazy. The lady knows only one Russian city Saint Petersburg which is 1000 miles away from Ukraine. Why this lady do not tell why 3mln Ukrainians fled to Russia and not to Ukraine, and why these people do no leave Russia? The borders are totally open...
Who fled to Russia? Why don't you say how many Russians have run away from mobilisation? How's the Russian population constantly shrinking if so many people want to live in that paradise? The Russians created chaos in Ukraine and almost 10 million Ukrainians have been displaced.

@@stefansekulic7903,
Here is a clip of a Ukrainian military funeral with full Third Reich regalia, including swastika helmets.....th-cam.com/users/clipUgkxPmwo2N3qzpk9n4fQ8JwDmeOnnEOsuHfh?si=MPQC8oVmxUCUFlpS
I am certain that MOST normal Ukrainians would be horrified to see such an abomination. Not so in Lviv and in other parts of old Galicia. 🙁
Many people there think the wrong side won WWII.
Too many "Ahhs" and "uuummm"s
I wonder why they don’t interview yourself?
Probably it will b be t oo much of silence
If I could speak Ukrainian as well as she speaks English I would be well pleased with myself.
I suspect that conducting these interviews in Ukrainian would not give them as much visibility
Not at all
Another great discussion, thank you 👍
