- Wizard of Oz land at Movie World Gold Coast! New Rides, Themed Area and MORE! Warner Bros. Movie World is a Theme Park on the Gold Coast in QLD, Australia! Wizard of Oz, due to open late 2024, is a brand new themed precinct at Movie World that's based on the 1933 classic film. The land will feature three new family Roller Coasters and themed areas, based on Kansas, The Emerald City, the Wicked Witch's Castle and much more!
Wizard of Oz is Movie World's new land, opening late 2024. It will have a lot of theming, and two new Roller Coasters: Flight of the Wicked Witch, and Kansas Twister! One is a Vekoma suspended family coaster, while the other is a Vekoma Dueling Family Coaster.

I wish they had of put in a dark ride instead of more coasters, but otherwise this looks great for kids.
I didn't know the Emerald Castle was a walkthrough attraction? Interesting.
Would have preferred a dark ride for sure!
The palace is sadly not a walkthrough, but rather a themed indoor entrance to both coasters. Anyone can enter and visit the Wizard, though!

Why isn’t there a dark ride? And the twister ride should have been like teacups.
Would have preferred a dark ride for sure! Rumour is that the Wizard of Oz was a last decision, with the area originally going to be Joker themed
