The rumours are true! These rides are confirmed to be coming to Movie World, and they're themed to the Wizard of Oz! They will be named "Flight of the Wicked Witch" and "Kansas Twister", and will be opening late 2024. If you enjoyed the video, please consider Subscribing for more! It's hard to replace a thrill ride with a family friendly ride especially if Lethal weapon was one of the top rides in Movieworld at the time. I think it needs another thrill ride
So Movie World seems to be hinting at a Wizard of Oz themed attraction or ride coming up. I think either of these rides could work. Although a looping coaster themed around the twister in the opening of the Wizard of Oz would provide some competition to Dreamworld's new Taipan.
The racing one looks like it has good airtime and pasting at the start of the ride but the ending looks boring if the chainlift was a bit higher on it it would be worth it :)
I’m gonna be honest if this rumour is true I’ll be a bit disappointed. It seem’s like the Gold Coast theme parks only put in roller coasters (big or small) with only the theming of a six flags park. They should try a be more creative with dark rides like at Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi
Aussie here...I've ridden the oringial theming when it was Leathal Weapon and again as Arkham Asylum; both countless times....If they wanted us thrill seekers to be coming back...they need to be putting in like a B&M Raptor clone from Cedar Point IMO
I can understand them deciding to invest in some more family friendly 'thrill coasters' as the park already has a solid selection of 'extreme' coasters. The Vekoma SFC they're getting is a solid model and really fun! (I'd love a B&M one day though)
Movie World needs a new thrill ride - the removal of arkham asylum has already increased queue times for other rides - DC is the only new ride in recent history and is PAINFUL to queue for
It would’ve been nice to have the new suspended coaster have a bit more thrill like Arkham asylum did such as going upside down and some more technical stuff and you would still have the family racer but sadly they aren’t doing that I’m still looking forward to them just I loved Arkham and am definitely disappointed at its replacement
I do wish they went with a more thrilling replacement for Arkham, but I do understand their reasoning for it as Oz is a family brand. I've ridden the model though at another park and I'm happy to say it was a lot of fun!
i honestly just wish they'd do more dark rides :( movie world shud focus on being a theme park more than an amusement park.. although the outdoor coasters aren't as bad as those like carnival portable type rides they've been doing
if your going to do it, than just take the Kansas ideas for a full wizard of oz theme park and make that and not add small crappy coasters with a theme to them instead of just doing the full IP and the books. This doesn't look at all like Kansas, or any kind of exciting kind of Oz area at all.
I say build one of those flat rides like the Redback at Movie World and theme it to the Twister scene. It wouldn't be much, but it could be great for at least 1 new thrill.
The second one is stupid. The first one is barely ok, but it would need better theming...the 'under construction' theme seems well intentioned but lacks depth and richness.
The version we're getting at Movie World will hopefully be well themed. They look pretty good in the concept art: movieworld.com.au/-/media/project/movieworld/assets/attractions/wizard-of-oz/11_woz.jpg

@@bostonuluakiola7314 it's already pretty much fully dismantled
Hopefully the Suspended coaster begins with the "Fly my pretties, Fly!" Audio!
@@colliric haha that would be perfect!

From what I've heard the SFC is meant to be an excellent ride that even thrill seekers enjoy.
the SFC Is supposedly intense and some consider it family thrill
I believe removing it doesn’t really matter. It’s a vekoma slc after all
There are too many coasters in movie world. If anything they need a well done dark ride.
Genuinely excited for this lmao. Wet N Wild recently had an expansion so it’s fair enough that Movie World gets one too. :)
I was hoping these where true, And for once they actually are, thank you so much
The first one is the exact same a TNT at Gumbuya World
Yup! Bet Movie World weren't happy Gumbuya beat them to it

I saw that! Very exciting. I think a Spinning coaster would fit the Twister theme very well! Not long till we find out!
@@ThemeParkOgre your info is 👌
Those exact two costers in the promo art. Well done.
WB Movie World needs a family coaster so I think either of these would be a good fit.
Hopefully both!
In case it wasn't clear, the rumour is that Movie World will be getting BOTH of these rides in the current Arkham Asylum area - pretty cool!
Wow that ride is fun thank you I will like this video one that looks have fun Theme park orge
That sure fast and super fun and cool
I love that ride and this video you out done yourself thank you for this awesome
@@thebestbro532YT thank you!
I’ve been a fan of the wizard of oz ever since i was a child so i genuinely hope the new rides come soon 😭😭
The new land is on track for late 2024 :D

Excited to see how it rides! I know the version in this video got some pretty good reviews.

I agree. As much as I love coasters the parks here are in desperate need of quality themed experiences!
I agree to

WB Movie World doesn't have many family rides so I think that they would fit in perfectly.
For sure, they would be a welcome fit!
Cool, those rides seem like fun, why the hell not?
They're both solid family coasters! I think they'll be well received
Movie World needs a new thrill ride - the removal of arkham asylum has already increased queue times for other rides - DC is the only new ride in recent history and is PAINFUL to queue for
They really need to work on getting that second train up and running. DC running on 1 train with 3+hour queues is insane

ngl I hope it's a thrill ride but if not all g
The wizard of oz idea is probably not the best one I would preferred they replace it with something better like another dc ride
i honestly just wish they'd do more dark rides :( movie world shud focus on being a theme park more than an amusement park.. although the outdoor coasters aren't as bad as those like carnival portable type rides they've been doing
They need another dark ride for sure. Hopefully that's their next investment after Wizard of Oz.
@@ThemeParkOgre they seem to do a new one every 5 years + some major maintenance/change on another one or two, is that right-ish?
@@sammypanda Pretty much, yeah. Covid naturally slowed things down a bit! Might see a faster turn around now, especially to compete with Dreamworld.

these are kids rides
They're family rides and are meant to be very fun, even to thrill seekers :)

@@ThemeParkOgre That castle looking coaster looks hot!
BORING.....
Both rides are apparently more fun than they look, especially the suspended coaster. The POV I posted doesn't do it justice.
Exactly! Wait for hours in lines to have about a minute boring ride. Lethal Weapon was a real thrill ride.
