    Something I find useful, should you need multiple instances in a timeline, for example different names and job tiles/subject matters, is to use Text+, rather than a fusion comp. If you drop Text+ onto the timeline and open in the fusion page, you can animate and add the backgrounds etc etc. Back on the edit page, duplicate as many times as you need for the different people/subjects and because the Text+ came from the edit page to start with, any text based changes can be made without having to dip in and out of the fusion page, as you have all the text controls right there on the edit page, whilst still retaining all the animation/effects from the original instance, that you added in the fusion page. It does speed up my workflow.
    Downside is you can't save to use in other projects like your can with fusion comps. Or perhaps you can??

    Hi Casey! This is inspiring and simple thanks!
    I would love to make the text characters do a Mexican wave up and down thing where the shine passes. 😎✅

    Great tut, I think you should also use the OG Fusion logo in the thumbnail instead of the icon at the bottom of Resolve for Fusion page which most people aren't familiar with.

    Great video! One thing I found though is that dragging the rectangle mask onto the color corrector didn't default to the mask input for me... I actually had to drag it directly onto the mask (blue) node itself.

    Great video. Super clear. Where can I find the video that deals with the automatic length adjustment? Also, you said at the beginning that there is another video where you teach how to save the fusion composition and be able to use it in other projects. Where can I find that video too? Again. thank you so much!!

    Only thing I did to change this really was add a drop shadow to the text as well. Makes the text stick out a little and feel 3 dimensional and makes that shine pop a little more

    Nice. Great refresher and always fab to see a different approach solving a problem.
    To make it smart, I’d play around with expressions, total keyframe count, percentages and iif. Maybe there is a smarter way? Can’t wait to see the next video.

    Got to trying to merge matte 3 to merge 2 and it wouldn't connect no matter what I tried then the whole preview screen went black so now nothing is showing. Not doing well with this node stuff

  • @Topcatyo.
    @Topcatyo. ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Looking forward to the next video. I know the node you're probably going to use is the Timeline Stretcher, but I haven't messed around with it so I'm curious to see how it works.
    As for what I'd add to the screen element in this video, I'm always a fan of when elements subtly move as they're on the screen. So, I'd have the text slowly move slightly to the right as it's on the screen (while still staying within the purple box). Things like that tend to make the elements feel less static and gives a nice extra layer of visual interest to them.

    Nice video Casey! I might round the corners slightly to improve the design, since you asked. But I learned that the rectangle3 node could mask 2 diff nodes simultaneously. I didn't know that! Thanks!

    Casey - why was it necessary to have a blank background and then add a purple background? Why would just making one purple background not work? Thanks - you make great videos.

    • @CaseyFaris
      @CaseyFaris  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In this instance, yes you could probably skip the blank BG, I like to have the blank BG as it sets the comp size. It's just a practice I get into. You could skip it for this comp as the masked purple bg would be the same size yeah.

    Thank you for this fun tutorial. I really enjoy learning Fusion from you! It's strange though. I do all the steps, but when I add the rectangle mask to the purple lower third, my CC node and it's mask turn red and the rectangle mask attached to the node for the L3 BG no longer functions. Such a drag. I guess the software is buggy on my computer.
