Can i ask you a question? I own a fiat 124 sport 1800cc ( it has the same engine as yours ) Anyway, recently i drove the car on low engine oil ( my bad but i had too) so i had a knocking sound after the trip, later on I refilled the engine with oil and the knocking noise was gone kinda, yesterday i was playing to take it to me mechanic, and as soon as i tried to drive, i heard a knock and the engine stall, now it wouldn’t rotate, i took of the head and everything looks fine, the cams are ok, but the piston wont move, i tried to put it in 5th gear and push it forward and backwards, the are still stuck ( the aux gear rotates smoothly ) so do you have any idea what might cause this ?
@samialjaraki8062 I think the knocking was from the rod or main bearings giving up from lack of oil. Sounds like the last knock was the bottom end seizing up. Isolate the crankshaft as much as you can to make sure. It's possible to jack it up a bit and drop the oil pan, motor still in the car.
@ what do you mean by isolate the crankshaft? And is it possible to remove the oil pan while the engine is mounted to the car ? I think there’s a metal rod that connects the both wheels, its literally under the engine
@samialjaraki8062 if you're not sure the motor is stuck, remove anything that interacts with rotation, (drive shaft, starter, transmission, etc) You can take loose the motor mounts, jack up the front of the motor and get the oil pan off.
We're not watching just a mechanic here, we're watching an artist! Much respect EB!
Thanks buddy
Thanks for this tutorial. What kind of gasket sealer are you using ? Thanks.
Permatex gasket sealer mostly
@@ELDESTBuilds Thank you !
Welcome, water pump bolts and such that go into an open water jacket get a smidge on the threads to help seal.
