How to replace your fuel pump

- In this video I show how to replace just the fuel pump on your ATV, UTV, or SXS so you don't have to buy the entire assembly! This process is similar on Arctic Cat ATVs, Prowlers and Wildcats.
For Arctic Cat EFI engines you need 43 constant PSI fuel pressure to run properly. If your pump sounds like it is grinding then it is probably gone bad. It should be a quiet whirring sound in your gas tank if running properly.

What if the pump doesnt make any noise? Does that mean it’s bad too?
Yes, there should be a quiet whirring sound from the pump. No noise could mean it’s not getting power or not running at all.
I bought a replacement pump for my Arctic Cat 2009 550 h1 efi, I followed this and I cant figure out what seal I need between the pump and the enclosure. Didnt come with the pump
It’s just a piece of 1/2” fuel line about 5/8”-3/4” long.

Mine is underneath that crossmember for the frame. Any idea how to access is with our removing the fuel tank?
Should be able to turn the pump assembly to work it out from under the rear frame bar.

@@ArcticFrost mine doesn’t have a pump it has a vacuum fuel (pump) instead and the float assembly is directly underneath the assembly itself a headache and now at the mech thanks for the reply
How do you hook up a pressure gauge to test it?
There should be an inline filter with a barbed end where you can slip the line off and attach your pressure gauge between the fuel pump and the injector.
I have the 2009 artic cat 550 efi replaced the fuel pump and regulator completely out of ideas please help
