Its actually the song that got me into Megadeth. Only because it was on the Watch Dogs 2 Soundtrack together with Turbo Lover from Judas Priest. Both killer songs and one of my faves. And youre totally right, totally underrated.
hell yeah, man. I had no idea it was on the soundtrack to anything, let alone a triple-A release. Weirdly enough, Turbo Lover was the song that got me into Judas Priest because it was on the soundtrack to Gran Turismo 3 lol@@lightningps6933
Fu.. Without a doubt two vinyls to break your neck......both full of some surprisingly good riffs....and by this I mean that they have been in the business for many years and sometimes good ideas run out. This is not the case!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Your work is impressive dude!!!!
@@somethingelse04 should've left Dead, ManUNkind and Murder One out then! Those three songs are why Hardwired isn't a flawless album imo. Scrap those three, throw in an instrumental track, another thrash song like Bone and Lords of Summer and it would've easily been the best Metallica album since 88.
Really REALLY well done dude! I'm impressed by this! Both great albums btw. Now all you need is Spit Out the Bone! to top it off. You've got some great tones going on here!
It's almost unfair because the writing on Dystopia is far superior to that of Hardwired. Then again Dave is a far superior guitarist than James and Kirk.
Dude, The's awesome you used that sweet JAckson V for the Dave parts man, these are a lot of iffs I haven't heard. I got Hardwired for Xmas and played it in the car a few times but never had Dystopia
Ugh, I hate when people fight over what’s better, Metallica or Megadeth. The answer’s simple. Both the G.O.A.T. regardless, so stop fighting y’all! We should be glad that both bands are still making awesome music!
It used to get to me as I like them both equally. But now, I actually think the debate is great for both bands. It definitely keeps Megadeth in the discussion, which is great since they're a smaller band. It also encourages a great discussion or rad videos like this one.
I think overall Dave writes more interesting riffs and James writes better songs and has a better voice which is why Metallica has had much more success.
No battle here. Dystopia all the way. I don't know, Metallica's stuff here feels like... something procedurally generated. Kinda flat, without intention other than sounding like generic Metallica. Although there are some nice bits here and there. Megadeth on the other hand, still feels genuine. Tends to repeat itself a bit, sure, but hey, who wouldn't after so many albums ?
You shouldn't have used Murder One, but Spit Out The Bone. Unfair! And dude.... You seriously didn't use the bridge riff in "Am I Savage?" Wtf?!? That's the best riff on the album and one of Metallica's best! Feels a bit biased...
Nice video! Hardwired is so underrated in my opinion. It’s not their best album, but it has a lot of good songs on it and especially Spit Out the Bone which was Metallica’s best song since The Black Album. And Dystopia is a great album, and it was a return to form for Megadeth. I like both of these albums a lot 🤘
to me, besides peace sells and R.I.P, dystopia is their best album without a doubt, so many killer tracks and lyrics, it also has a darker atmosphere... you should listen to the whole album
Sounds like something off of Countdown to Extinction, but indeed it's the only mildly interesting riff in the whole video. Without the two big names attached to the albums, I bet no one would give a flying f about this tired, formulaic stuff. Not a single trace of balls in sight, just playing it safe.
@@xijinping3894 I agree. Being a huge megadeth fan, I can say dystopia is surely at top 5 or 6 in their whole discography. TSTDTD is also good but not even close to dystopia imo. Hell of a thrash album.
Whenever there are Megadeth vs Metallica album comparisons, I'll drift off to other tabs and get distracted. Sometimes a song will break my concentration and make me think "Holy shit, that's so good." 90% of the time, it's a Megadeth song.

Although your video is very well done, the world loses. Both these bands were never all that great to start with. Dave has always been for superior to anything James or Kirk could come up with.
For the first time since the 80s has a Metallica album Vs a Megadeth album been a genuine competition. I don't know which album is better. Both are examples of these two bands doing great things in a new age. So how I will decide is which album has the most filler? Hardwired: Dead, ManUNkind, Murder One Dystopia: Emperor 3 to 1. But Bone is probably my favourite song from either album. But then Poisonous Shadows! Ah... I'll call it a tie 😅
@@dmitryowens against Megadeth? Yeah... that's not true. 90s and 00s Megadeth Vs 90s and 00s Metallica is Megadeth ftw. But these two albums on display here are where a genuine competition is met. Both are so good! I'm just disappointed Hardwired had three duds and no instrumental 😢
The tones on that Jackson V just cut so nicely. I’d like to know what rig rundown differences you’re using. Btw, did you ever get ownership of your fb page back?
Sick! But not doing Spit Out the Bone is a travesty! Best Metallica song since 88! So I'd say 80s Metallica ftw, then Megadeth since then, however, Hardwired (minus the three crap songs, Now That We're Dead, ManUNkind and Murder One) is their strongest album since Justice. So, Hardwired Vs Dystopia? I'll say... Actually, I'm not even sure! Tough battle and the first time a post 80s Metallica album can even challenge a Megadeth one!
After Metallica's Black Album and Megadeth's Risk I took a break form both bands and if any I would listen to just the good old stuff. When, after years, I decided to see what's going on with both of those bands it was actually those two records I happen to listen to. Dystopia is hands down a better album of the two. Metallica just sounded like they took and regurgitated their first album. Everything sounded old and not really interesting. Megadeth on the other hand was all well produced, tight and with a clear vision and direction. The album had a proper punch.
I did this comparo when they came out. I do like dystopia as a whole album better. I do think it has a more metal feel over all. Will I play Hardwired just to listen to? Probably not. Dystopia maybe sometimes.
i'm a big big big metallica fan, but man, i really disliked the album hardwired. i think the only song i liked from there was "spit out the bone" but even that one was bloated with the middle section that i felt killed the pace. "dystopia" imo was simply just a massively better record. or, at least, better paced and less filler and bloating then again, i LOVE both "72 Seasons" and "the sick the dying the dead" which stands to me as some of my favourite albums from each bands
Videos like this just put on display how crucial it was for both Metallica and Dave to split when they did. Had they not, I really don't think that any of them would still be playing. Cliff dying would have completely destroyed the band and the people in it if they even made it that far. So yeah, I'd rather have Metallica and Megadeth for the last 40 years instead of Metallica for 4 or 5 years.
If I had a nickle for every Metallica v Megadeth conversation I've had I'd be rich! But, what I loved about this is just how great both bands still can rock it this late in the game. Great work rocking it!
Much respect to James whom got me into metal in the 5th grade. I’m almost 30 now and I can with full confidence say Megadeth is on orders of magnitude better than Metallica. And both suck compared to less celebrated bands of that era like Morbid Angel and Celtic Frost
Those Metallica riffs sound much better with your tone. That’s the one thing that has been off on their last couple albums. It sounds too warm. Too soft. They need to go back to AJFA tone.
"Fatal Illusion" might be the most underrated Megadeth song of all time.

Metallica definitely has more "groove" to the riffs..
Some of the Megadeth songs here are just as groovy if not groovy. The Threat Is Real for example is super groovy.
