This is so stupidly good, holy hell! Great guitar playing, composition, and production! I love when I come across a song-be it original or a cover-that just oozes with passion like this
First of all, this slapped for a ton of reasons. What i'm really hoping crops up in the next 3-5 years out of this whole "what if..."/"reforged" movement in the metal scene that seems to be having it's moment in the sun is real bands getting together who are masters at understanding the technical and ineffables that go into what makes classic albums/eras of certain bands hit so hard, and go one of two routes with it (or both). Route 1: Just be an insanely precise cover band with the ability to make these sorts of mashups come together in a studio space/on the stage. Route 2: Take the knowledge and write totally new pieces that evoke these specific album styles. As much mud as was flung at Greta Van Fleet when they first came out, even if you concede the fact that they're just straight up lifting Led Zeppelin's style, I always thought it took a lot of talent to hit that nail as squarely on the head as they did. If you told me that a band was dropping an album that was done purposefully in the style of AJFA or another album I love as much as that one, and they did it *WELL* I would be extremely giddy about that prospect.
It does sound like Metallica... but to downgrade the drums and Marty's solos is kind of unfortunate. Definitely nailed the sounding of it like it coming of AJFA though

02:14 - Blackened's Breakdown (original: 02'34)
04:12 - And Justice For All's pre-solo lick (original: 05'03)
04:24 - And Justice For All's solo (original: 05'16)
2:21 the drum accents from the intro to The Frayed Ends of Sanity
2:14 sounds more like The Frayed Ends of Sanity
4:06 Slayer
I don't get the shortest straw one, even though I know the song perfectly.
Edit: Oh, now I get it, but wouldn't call it the main lick lol
@@franrus6718 it's actually from In the Hall of The Mountain King by Edvard Grieg
Now im waiting for
If symphony was on the black album
If A.I.R was on RTL
If MOP was on Reign in Blood
Im almost in tears with this , amazing work and i cant stop listening to it
Mate! What is this sorcerery? that was incredible! This is the best cover you've ever made! Its like hearing a song from an alternate reality.
Dude at some point you've got to have a crack at the conjuring or devils island on puppets or ride the lightning they'd be amazing cause they legit could be tallica songs (Particularly devils island), or perhaps slayers black magic cause metallica covered the beginning of it live once
I keep coming back to this song. It feels like it came right out Metallica's discography. Fantastic.
Love this! I wish I could have the whole Megadeth catalog sung by prime James hetfield. Somebody make this please?
2:15 - 2:50 is absolutely genius. Gooooooosebumps when James sings that first sentence
This is what I said!
Now that's something I've been waiting a long time. Can't wait to hear Moto Psycho in the style of St. Anger
So you pretty much want one of the worse songs played in the style of one of the worst albums. I get the irony.
When I hear things like this, I truly believe that we are living in a multiverse and the realities are converging right before out very eyes.
The main riff that starts at 0:11 is made so Metallica... just making the low e notes a gallop makes a ton of difference lol. And the drums on this are so accurate, damn.
It sounds good, even if I prefer the original. I wonder what both Megadeth and Metallica would say. Now do a Metallica song in reverse so that Dave sings and plays on AJFA with Megadeth.
This is so badass. Outstanding job. I recommend having someone else do vocals trying to sound like Hetfield, then have the AI do its magic.
Last thing: the drum track lacks the powerful china cymbals that Lars uses throughout AJFA…in fact none of the What If songs ever do it and as a drummer it’s a little detail that irks me.
Regardless of nitpicking, this is amazing and cannot wait to see what else you do
Dude... this might be the most impressive thing I've seen in quite a while 💯👏
Subscribed! Keep up the creative work!!
I was surprised to hear "Hall of the Mountain King" in the solo there.
I keep coming back to this. It’s more intense than anything on AJFA. It sounds more pissed off. So badass. I need the whole RIP album done like this!
That's cos it's Dave's riffs,,,so much more badass than ,,,,,
This is fucking perfect, exactly what I’ve been looking for from a Megadeth cover done in Metallica style. Awesome work!
That outro right at the end is so spot on lmao, great job man
you should post a video of you breaking down the project. would be interesting to see how you came up with all the riffs, solos and new ideas. Great video!!!
I honestly can't say if I like Dave's vocals more than James', even though sure, this is AI, but it sounds SO DAMN accurate that if I didn't know, I could probably never tell... There's even James' signature YEAH and so on, I mean come on, it's so crazy how far the AI's gotten...
Damn dude...that's pretty incredible...
What a masterpiece. Would love to see the entire album of rust in peace in AJFA style alongside James' vocals.
You get perfection when you blend the 2 best metal bands together!
Brilliant! The tone, the vocals, and especially the re-writing of riffs is spot on. Impressive understanding of the original song AND the inner workings of AJFA. I've heard a lot of "What if xyz song was on abc album?" stuff on TH-cam but this is hands down the best I've heard.
i cannot imagine the amount of work put in this video
The drum part was perfect, out of the box and unpredictable hit.
You somehow made Holy Wars even more technical. I love it.
minus the drums
The drums are better here.
@@adameves5970 heck no they arent
It does sound like Metallica... but to downgrade the drums and Marty's solos is kind of unfortunate. Definitely nailed the sounding of it like it coming of AJFA though
@@adameves5970Blasphemy
the shortest straw inspirations were awesome
Vocals actually sound like a couple songs in garage inc, damn
James is probably trying to remember when he sang on this track. LOL
This is friggen amazing!!! Well done!
Not only is the sound on this one is so legit, but it sounds massive too
Wow 5 months? As a gigging musician myself I absolutely love your dedication to this. 🤘🏻
The classical breakdown reinterpretation, incredibly epic, as it had to be, the Easter eggs are familiar twisted, nuanced af
