So how did they route these things anyway? CR - Lehigh Line - Harrisburg Line - Lurgan to some connection to the west only to bring them back east towards DC, or CR - Lehigh Line - Harrisburg Line - Port Road to Baltimore that way, or some other way that hasn't come to mind yet? I never read where the detours took place, even though I had plenty of time to seeing how long it took for that tunnel to reopen. Nice to see that you managed to get so many of them, I always enjoy seeing these not-so-often seen moments of how things would have looked if the CR split went the other way. I remember jumping for joy this past Autumn when I nailed some otherwise boring common as could be NS power hauling an empty K train up the River Line lol.
They had quite a long reroute: the trains coming from the south had to head all the way west to Hancock, MD, where power would run around the train to take it back east to enter the CSX Lurgan Sub at Cherry Run, in order to connect to the NS Lurgan Branch at Hagerstown, then, you know how they went from there (Lurgan-Harrisburg-Reading-Lehigh Lines to reach CSAO).
When I was thinking about that reroute option, I was thinking: "there's no way they would actually do that, that's a ridiculous and time consuming routting"...and apparently that's just what they did. Probably the busiest the Lurgan Sub has been in years lol.
Just saw it today! It was mixed in with a manifest. Had trash, the juice train, some tank cars and boxcars!
The first scene is music to my ears! Nice work!
Nicely done Eric!
I wonder did CSX run the trains or NS
You forgot the juice!
Nice catches!
So that's why the CSX Philly Sub's been so quiet
Nice Job CPRP!
pause at 2:28, CSX bought some Tropicana cars?
nice video
