Thanks for the idea of using the projector to plan the star template. Did you use different sized fibers to create the smaller and larger stars? If so, which size fibers? Thanks

Done this to 2 of my homes.. almost done with the 3rd! wish yal could see the pics. Cave/movie theater/jungle/Temple room. It has the vibe of Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland

Nice job. Curious why you chose the length of the fiber you did - a shorter clip nearer the surface would have eliminated some of the reflections - or was that intentional?

Great Job, I'm working on one as we speak. Any ideas on how to fix it to existing plasterboard ceiling. I've used MDF for the panel decent 8cm depth with supported edges. Was thinking hooks or button clips (industrial). What would you suggest. Thanks

Hi Eric, nice video. So I’m doing my theater room and my setup is a bit different. I have rockwool safe and sound all across the walls and ceiling followed by resilient sound channel and 2 sheets of 5/8 Sheetrock on the walls but only a single layer of 5/8 on the ceiling. And I would like to follow your setup and install mdf star ceiling. Is this possible with resilient channels? My ceiling is about 24’ long but I have created soffit on all 4 sides for side lightening so I have about 18’-20’ in length and about 8’ wide. Is it possible to accomplish this without any sagging or cracks? Thanks and appreciate any help. Any tips or instructions would be appreciated!!
use an arduino program to control the lighting pattern of the constellations in real time....now thats a stary night!

1. Drill holes
2. Insert fiber strand w adhesive.
3. Cut to desired length.
4. PRESS On button.

Great job, but am I missing something...did you paint the underside (visible) of the panel, black?? Obviously one would want as much contrast as possible?? Maybe I missed the painting step or it wasn't shown. And if you did paint it, surely it would have been easier to perforate the material (from the visible side, for really clean holes), then paint, then insert the fiber, glue, and then clip the lengths? Much easier and cleaner than painting after the fact, over one's head?

have you used MDF or drywall? if it was mdf then how are finding with sound absorption in your room after it was completed.?

Nice! But I actually like the other side of the board better! Its looks like a tree like structure and if someone actually desighes it as so, its would look cool and a lot more of the light will then be captured and not waisted

i see the light machine have 32W. 45W. 65W. 100W light power.... wonder how many W i would need for a 3mx3m space.
Depends on the effect you want. These panels I made are about 1.4 x 3.7 meters, and I use a 10 watt module per panel.

Ik zie dat je verschillende kleuren gebruikt bij het omcirkelen van de gaten.
Echter is de lichtbron dezelfde., wat is het verschil tussen de rode en de groene stippen?
Het is inderdaad één lichtbron, maar de diameter van de glasfibers is verschillende. Voor grotere / fellere sterren gebruik je dus de dikkere fibers.

Ik heb daar ook naar gekeken (ik wil gewoon wit licht, hoef al die effecten niet), maar losse fiber is eigenlijk duurder dan wanneer je gewoon zo'n kit koopt.
