  • It is increasingly difficult to find people for hand labour in the agricultural sector. Luckily there are a lot of manufacturers with innovative machinery that can mechanise a lot of things. Cabbage harvesting is one of them. We catch up with a Asa-Lift TK-1000E I 1 row automatic cabbage harvester in the Netherlands. This machine is being pulled by a John Deere 6115R. Alongside is a Fendt 313 Vario with box trailer.
    Because of a lot of rain field conditions are poor but this crop must get harvested before the quality deteriorates. These white cabbage, which look a bit like gigantic brussels sprouts from the air, will be processed only a few hours after having been cut. This means they can be treated a little rougher compared to ones that are sold fresh. Ultimately these cabbages will end up in sauerkraut, salads and other delicious vegetable meals.

    Put a swill collection bucket after the harvester and you will not lose half the product...We used to eat that with Sunday roast so the swine will eat it. Duh!. x ;)

    • @Agrifotodotnl
      @Agrifotodotnl  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      These cabbages were processed straight away that same day. For longer storage it wouldn't be very good.
