Great job breaking it all down Brodie. I remember my first round 21 months ago... some dude played through with like 23 discs in his backpack, and I got overwhelmed. But that initial sense of being overwhelmed is actually a strength of the sport. It means you can keep growing and developing and learning new things over years. I got a late start at age 47 and finally broke 900 with a 916 rated round in a sanctioned event this past week. It's been such a fantastic sport to embrace.

Being a relatively new fan of "watching" disc golf, I appreciate this series. I picked up many terms just by watching the coverage but most commentators assume the viewers have more knowledge than I do for sure. This series was a huge learning opportunity to me and I thank you both. Big fan of Brodie's and Paul also.

Dude, i am so thankful for this vids. In 2019 i watched nearly every disc golf event on YT and decided, that i want to start playing disc golf this year.
For christmas i got a starter set of discs and this videos really help me a lot to get a feel for the discs.
Just to find out what you can try and what you can change discwise is very helpful. Big thanks to both of you awsome human beeings.

So cool to watch this 2 years later and see how much Brodie has grown from these videos with Paul when disc golf was still new to him - now it’s like he’s been playing it for a long time/it wasn’t even new to him 2 years ago! Even cooler he talks about getting a name on discs and now he has his name on several. 😎
Thanks Brodie and Paul, I am new to the sport also and really enjoy and appreciate the in depth break down of all the different types of plastics and variations of the same disc that exist. Mind is spinning a bit with all the possibilities! I'm learning not only for me, but to be able to relay the correct information to my middle school Phys. Ed. students. The process has been a ton of fun, but your insight has made it a bunch easier to understand. Keep 'em coming, and "we'll "keep slinging them discs!"

I rewound this twice to look for breaks in the footage where you patched in those no look shots but its seamless! Epic stuff guys. Ive just recently learned how important it is to have the right disc for the right shot and how unique it can be from person to person and its got me so stoked on disc golf again. Loving the videos. My son got me interested in disc golf in October and I became obsessed with this sport and being able to compete again after surviving blood cancer. I’m rooting for you big guy and keep slinging em’.
Your best putt came with the Page Pierce - the control wobble with a tiny bit of hyzer was picture perfect. Thanks for doing these behind the scene style vids, they're refreshing, it's cool seeing all you guys so relaxed and having fun.

Got the Paige Pierce for my birthday this weekend, took it out for the first time, and I gotta say, I think I found my putter. It feels so comfortable, so smooth. Its very straight and its basically point and shoot when you follow through all the way to the basket. Loving it so far.

Imagine being just over a month into the sport and your building a bag and playing rounds with a once in a generation player... hopefully your not getting discouraged watching Paul make the sport look so damn easy! That man can even make the top 2-5 players in the world look like they arnt even in the same league lol loving the vids!!

I just got into disc golf maybe 4 months ago and these videos are teaching me alot
Yo Brodie. I used to play ultimate in SF, starting to get more into disc golf since I retired from ultimate. Cool to see you learning DG. I saw you with Paul and Simon a couple months ago. Your forehand looks a lot like mine - straight up and right. Haha. Having to relearn the flick for golf discs. Here are some discs that I like - they are comfortable for me as an ulti player so maybe good for you to try. Check them out. Fairway driver: Star Leopard 3. Super straight for tunnel shots with a slight fade at the end. Easy to shape to the right and left. Love that disc. Mid: Champion Mako3. I threw it once, instant favorite. Very similar to ultrastar but more compact. My flicks even go where I want. I have also been using the Zone, which I am going to like when I get more control with it. Putter/throws to about 120 feet: MVP Ion, Photon plastic. They also remind me of the ultrastar a bit. Super straight. Driver, I am still working on that, getting more distance. My arm speed only gets the disc to about 400ft max but getting better. Destroyer, Shrike, Wraith, DD3, TeeDevil are the ones I am playing with now. The light weight Destroyer (158) is my farthest driver. Shrike is nice for the nice anhyzer line because it is a bit less stable. Hope you find your discs. Have fun!

I was hoping for the “If you’re new and can only buy 1 putter get this one” kind of like how for midrange Paul said the buzzz could work for that. Is there a go to for only have 1 putter for a new player?
Take a buddy to the store and play catch with all the putters and buy the one you like
For discraft the Magnet is a nice, straight flying, putter that’s easy for beginners to use. I think that’s what Paul was getting at when he said he used it when he started.

Paul still has the in game decision making and the multiple world win confidence. So far from what I've seen tho brodie has a serious arm and the drive so I'm sure that will take him far.

A long time ago I had a Banger GT. It was my "go to." Well, played a "mini" with locals. There was like 150 people who turned out and a dude on my card said the disc wasn't PGDA approved. Now it is. Great disc
Only been playing about 7-8 months now, but something that has been preached to me over and over again is to practice putting as much as you can. There will always be people who can throw 400+ feet, but to be truly a pro, you have to be able to putt from anywhere.
Yea I found out the hard way today that you need to practice those awkward putts too

I have a question... any Purple Soft X Roaches there in the warehouse? Those things feel amazing but I only putt purple. Never seen a purple one. I would consider switching to Roaches if I could find some purps
My jawbreaker roach is mostly purple (like the Fierce shown in the vid). You can find them!

@@BaysingersDiscGolfChannel I get that. Confident feel can give a confident putt. All I can say is Roaches changed my putting so much for the better (and they're fun to drive, too)... If you can get over the color, you may not regret the switch! You should reach out to Discraft or the Discraft All Day Facebook page and shout out for some.
