Andrewsarchus Guide for ARK: Survival Evolved

- In this video I will show you how to find and tame the Andrewsarchus the new giant dog with a minigun turret which you can find on the Fjordur map in ARK: Survival Evolved. The andrewsarchus is a passive tame that will require honey and skill in order to bring to heel. But once that is done you will be able to make a minigun turret saddle for it, that is just so fun to use. It is a great swimmer and an excellent all-round mount that every player in ARK should get!

If you hit X the andrewsarchus becomes super dense and runs on the bottom.
Like your ARK videos a lot. Loud and clear, really informative and having your son on the end a huge plus. Makes my dad heart happy when dad's like to involve son's into their things.
A fully armored saddle with a minigun costs 20 metal and doesn't even need to be made at a fabricator?

This new map caught me by surprise!
Fun fact Andrewsarchus is actually closer to pigs than it is to true carnivores. It has hooves and is closely related to daeodon.
it's also hippos grand-grand-grand-paps :) which explains its aquatic abilities

Actually it’s hippos and whales and not pigs at all. Outside of both being ungulates they are not that closely related.
This also applies to the Daeodon. It’s a common misconception.
However! There is another creature that fits the title of giant pig in the fossil record and is actually closely related..

Of course, it can swim. If you study some paleontology, you're gonna find out that it's a hippo!? Mind blowing!
Actualy it much closer to extinct entelodonts than to modern hyppos

So did they removed ability to collect silcine pearls because in there dossier they said they collect pearls
They never collected pearls and the dossier specifically says it's density in water would make it ideal for searching ocean floors for pearls.
Can he swim well in water because im trying to get a decent offensive Dino.

@@erccdang not really got to make all the bullets and they don’t have that good melee damage
@@KrystianZieba-kc8tx, if you have a saddle on it, you won't get knocked off by microraptors and other dismounters. And you can't be shot out off the turret unless enemies brought in a tek railgun.
Ps4 is hold down r3 right stick until crosshair show up than r2. Idk about xbox

Andrewsarchus isn't related to dogs as much as it's related to modern day pigs and hippos. It's actual closest relatives are entelodonts like Daeodon, hence the "hoof paws" it has. It's swimming abilities probably come from it's relationship with hippos as well. As for the turret saddle... I dunno it's cool I guess, I don't know what scientific or pop culture reference it might have tho.
Why have you lumped pigs and hippos together?
