I just wish they’d spawn more Minoris as well. The feeling of sweeping your boltgun through a charging swarm of gaunts kinda gets lost underneath the parry-gunstrike-execution for 10 minutes every encounter.
@@unrealdev5178 if you are who I think you are, YES. PLEASE DO. And if you can, nerf the damage that the synaptic backlash does to gaunts. The stun is all well and good, that’s fine. But with the larger numbers of Tyranid Warriors, kill one or two of them, and that’s half the gaunt horde wiped out instantly as their heads start exploding. Remove the ability for synaptic backlash to outright kill the gaunts, and we’re on some good shit there. The stun gives you a little bit of breathing room from that angle without taking away the fun of MOWING THE LAWN, if’n ya take my meaning.
Now you’re telling me this doesn’t look way more fun than just buffing the health and upping the spawn rate slightly? I hope horde mode is something like this bc Lethal mode is just a bit tedious imo
Intimidating aura perk does almost as much damage as a gunstrike, which sadly in base game is what carry the bulwark's damage because the melee damage without them is quite low
If this was actually lore accurate the video would be 5 seconds because the Tyranids would have swarmed the marine and tore him limb from limb as he sobbed and screamed.
You know, the problem with making everything "Lore Accurate", is that it doesn't translate well to gameplay. This has been the case since Tabletop. Space Marines are nowhere as OP as they are in fluff, as they are in crunch.
The Reason I loved Vermintide, then Darktide, and Now Space Marine 2 is because you have to be actually good at games to beat them on the hardest difficulty. I don't really like mods like the Astartes Mod because people can easily cheat and make themselves OP. Now, I know Guardsman is a badass and has solo'd lethal but I would not watch modded gameplay from any other channel and not a huge fan of it here
@jmgonzales7701 to beat the hardest difficulty in Space Marine and Darktide, you need to be good at games. At least a little. There are a lot of people that can't do it
you dont have to be good at those games, you just have to have an iq level high enough for those modes, everytime im in a premade squad in darktide we rarely lose in havoc, everytime i squad up with randoms i lose way more often trying to carry 3 ogryn players that have to share a single braincell
@zach942 even someone with 200 IQ is gonna die in Lethal if you let them play their first game on your maxed out character in a lethal mission. Hence, you need to be good at the game But yeah Im sure it's a bit harder for low IQ people but let's not pretend like you need to be Einstein to finish lethal haha
I understand wanting it to be more epic and badass as the lore. But from what i can tell the balancing is just broke and bulwark's unique gameplay is gone
Also this would make every mission take probably two hours to complete (if not longer). This video is 6 minutes long and it’s only the very first enemy encounter that usually takes maybe a minute to clear. This would get old less than a quarter of the way through the mission, because you’d be spending a minimum of 5-10 minutes in each subsection of a subsection. This is with a modded, more powerful version of bulwark, too. I understand why modders may want to mess with this as a sort of novel idea. However, this is a case of the developers following good design standards. They shouldn’t be sacrificing good design principles for the sake of lore accuracy that maybe 3-5% of even the most hardcore 40k fans care about.
As a huge 40k fan, the base games spawns on Ruthless or Lethal are fine. sometimes you encounter smaller groups and other times you get absolutely swarmed, even in the first area. The other day I did a Lethal Inferno, in the same area as in this video we got swarmed immediately. When we walked up in was only 2 groups of Gaunts with a Warrior, but on the ledge 6 or 7 Warriors jumped down, each calling reinforcement one after the other. We fought in that first area for a good solid 5-6min. Then once we ran up, a Carnifex spawned, along with whatever else was already hanging around and Extremis spawn, which was 2 Lictors and Ravenour. sometimes the game director is forgiving, other times I swear the director thinks it's the God damn Hive Mind. Lol
Pretty much nothing about this is lore accurate, both Lictors and Carnifexes are much stronger than an average Space Marine. Also swarms are much bigger but wouldn't bother coming at a single marine
@Activisclous90 Yeah Custodes are built different. I mean if we're being honest the main problem with the Tyranids is that they've kinda written themselves into a corner. They made them way too powerful in the lore, it actually doesn't make any sense that they lose all the time. Purely from a logistical standpoint the Nids should have already overrun the setting.
@@darksteelmenace595 Seeing as they don't have any character more than ravenous galaxy-invading horde fleeing from something even worse, that's probably why. In a way though, it's excellent setting fodder since they can be placed anywhere and show up again after being beaten back with little fanfare. Seeing as fighting the other factions, even the simple Orks, gets more indepth going for 'em, lol.
Glad I'm not the only one. People give Space Marines way too much credit on the power scale of 40k. Yes, they're way stronger in the lore than the tabletop/Dawn of War gives them credit for. But they're not Doom Guy. They can and do die. As an example, in SM2 campaign there are multiple Ultramarines who were killed by a Lictor. Which is perfectly feasible. Titus' time in the Deathwatch gave him a vital edge in dealing with it, with even his squad mates remarking they might not have survived if he wasn't there.
This miss one important thing, with the reaction times and reflexes of an astertes, you would have more time to react to stuff. That can be arranged by making ingame time run slower.
@@randomdude8202 Reacting is more than just see > press button. Plus the blue marker makes up able to react faster. It's pretty accurate and slowing down t time would make the game feel like ass.
@@randomdude8202 I do, completely, but you do not get it. Reacting is more than simply pressing a button according to simple stimuli. Of course in that regard, a space marine is MUCH faster, likely with nearly no delay whereas ours is about 250ms on average. But, reacting to colour and pressing a button, versus reacting to an attack, and moving your entire body to parry or dodge as well as figuring out how you do that while considering your surroundings, accounts for a human's slower reflexes. Making the mechanics as is pretty close to reality, if not accurate. Plus my main point is this: It would be terrible and the game would feel bad, not to mention bugs. So let's not do it anyway.
This six minute video was ten times more interesting and exciting than six hours of vanilla Space marine 2. Literally zero reason the game can't be like this. Why do the actual developers never understand the game, but modders do?
I have to report this lore inaccuracy to the inquisitor. The deathwatch do not display lieutenant stripes on their helmets, and you anger your armor's machine spirit by covering the chapter heraldry. You will be lucky if your machine spirit does not fail you out of spite in a critical moment. The Deathwatch battle-brother's Watch Company is marked by a red stripe on the knee plate, often with a Low Gothic numeral. The stripe's direction indicates one of the five Watch Companies, except Watch Company Primus, which has an entirely black knee plate with no stripe. They do not put skulls on the kneeplate, covering the watch company marking. The only adornments Deathwatch apply would be dependent on the chapter the marine hails from. Space wolves, dark angels, blood angels, all like to add little adornments to their deathwatch armor, such as pelts, winged swords, and blood drops.
What is lore accurate about this? If it was lore accurate a warrior would have overwhelmed a regular astartes in cq and a swarm would have shredded him in seconds
